Marvel Snap Conquest Meta Tier List: April 30, 2024 – Infinity Conquest and League Patch Preparation

Disruptive archetypes seem to be ruling the Conquest mode as well since the OTA. However, due to how information works here, you can't surprise your opponent as efficiently. Then, Conquest looks more open to surprises, with unexpected decks doing really well!

Welcome to our Marvel Snap Conquest Meta Tier List! Each week, we review the best decks in the ever-changing Marvel Snap Conquest meta.

This report is dedicated to the Conquest mode and lists the current best decks to run the gauntlet and grab your next Infinity avatar. We also provide a Ranked report, available around the middle of the week based on the latest updates, that highlights the best archetypes for that mode. Looking to figure out the impact of the newly released card or the latest balance changes in Conquest? This is the place to be!

If you are looking for more information about a deck in particular, check out our Archetypes pages, with detailed information about each of the household names in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Conquest Overview

It looks like proactive decks are doing a little better in Conquest compared to the ranked mode, probably due to the ability to adapt their play patterns once they know what to expect from their opponent. Destroy, in particular, is a completely different archetype in Conquest, although it runs the same twelve cards in both modes.

Apart from how proactive decks are able to leverage information, the archetypes in Conquest are fairly similar to those in ranked. Ongoing Affliction and Hammer Control, two decks on the rise since the OTA, show they are the real deal, with a solid performance in this mode as well. The usual powerhouses such as Junk, Loki, Hela Corvus or Move are also part of the Conquest metagame.

Overall, the game isn’t so different from a mode to the other, although Conquest can be a little more permissive when it comes to focusing on your own synergies. You still need to account for the limited space you will likely have to play with, hence why Destroy or The Living Tribunal remain amongst the best decks. Yet, the fact you know exactly how your opponent intends to limit your development helps a lot in limiting how damaging it can be to your strategy.

Happy Tier List, everyone!

Disclaimer and Tier Explanations

In order to be featured here, a deck needs to hold a win rate above the 50% threshold over more than a hundred Conquest games.

In order to create this chart, den is using data from our Marvel Snap Tracker, as well as other available data online and his own expertise and opinion of respected players. If a deck showed great performances with a very limited presence in the meta, you can find it in the Silent Performers section. That section highlights decks with an excellent Win Rate, but too little of a sample size to be representative of their real strength.

Decks not good enough to be considered contenders but with a good representation will be ranked in Tier 3 in our chart. See those builds as decks that are good to know about, as you should face them when playing Marvel Snap. However, unless the meta changes or a new variation of the build emerges, these decks are a notch below the dominant ones in Tiers 1 and 2.

Silent Performer: Decks with a very little presence in the meta that still showcase a Cube Average and Win Rate worthy of a Tier 2 deck (or better). Oftentimes, these can be archetypes with some nice game play that have been left unchecked in the current environment, or decks on the rise that found a few good match ups to abuse.

Tier 1: Tier 1 represents decks with all the upsides we would be looking for to run the gauntlet. They have good match ups in the current meta, offer different play patterns during a match, and often have the ability for explosive or surprising turns. These should be decks worth investing into in order to climb for the coming week.
Win Rate > 60%

Tier 2: Tier 2 are very good decks but with a weakness holding them back – either not being as reliable in its draws as Tier 1 decks, countered by another popular deck, or still being a work in progress as you read this. A good pilot could probably take these and have the same results as with a Tier 1 deck, but their play patterns are more difficult to enact compared to the tier above.
Win Rate > 57%

Tier 3: This tier is made of decks that have a pervasive issue compared to Tier 1 or Tier 2 decks. Usually, Tier 3 will be a mix of decks on the rise that don’t have much data, old archetypes on the decline, decks that require substantial experience and/or knowledge to pilot properly, powerful decks that aren’t well positioned, or niche decks.
Win Rate > 54%

Budget: Decks that consist only of cards in Pool 1 and 2 that are still capable of competing with an experienced pilot in a similar Collection Level, Rank, and MMR range. See our matchmaking guide for more details.

With barely enough games to be a part of the report, Ongoing Affliction is establishing itself as a great deck in both modes since the OTA. In Conquest, the multiple types of disruption allow focusing on the one your opponent will be weaker to.

Then, in addition to a weird looking deck, at least until more people learn about it, you also have a fairly flexible strategy, either focusing on power affliction, or limiting certain patterns with Armor, Cosmo or Jean Grey.

Potential Additions

The build is the same for both Conquest and Ranked, so unless you see an Ongoing ability you really want in the deck, I would recommend testing the featured list before making some changes.

While the ranked performance was quite disappointing for Destroy, the deck looks much stronger in Conquest. It isn’t obvious why, considering the decks in both modes are quite similar. Yet, my two cents are Deadpool and Death are much stronger when they know the type of disruption they are up against.

Indeed, if you have cards you know are good against Destroy, you can snap as soon you recognize your opponent, which is extremely early in most scenarios. On the other end, Destroy doesn’t know whether they need to worry about Shadow King, Professor X or Cosmo. Then, once that part is cleared, the Destroy player has much more agency in the next rounds.

Potential Additions

Shang-Chi is flexible.

Alongside Junk, Loki is the only archetype with a Tier 1 ranking in both ranked on Conquest, showing the Trickster God really is thriving in the current metagame. It only makes sense, as Loki presents most upsides you would want in a disruptive metagame.

First, you have access to a lot of information about your opponent, mainly the disruptive cards they could be packing. Then, disruptive decks run cards to play even with limited space, such as Jeff the Baby Land Shark or Cannonball, which you are more than happy to use. Lastly, Loki remains one of the scariest decks to go against when it snaps in the later turns, holding a full hand of discounted cards.

Potential Additions

Shang-Chi and Mockingbird are the most commonly replaced cards in the deck, often with counter cards for specific matchups.

Junk, or at least clogging your opponent’s space, is regarded as the strongest synergy right now in snap, especially since White Widow came in for extra help. In ranked, the build looking to aggressively limit the opponent is doing better, but seems to do a little worse in Conquest, where that strategy is harder to enforce once your opponent know what to expect. Then, Pixie Junk leads the archetype in Conquest, posting a 60% win rate, on the back of a little more unpredictability, still a big success factor in this mode.

Similarly to the Junk situation, the more unpredictable build is doing better in Conquest for The Living Tribunal. Indeed, while you should be met with a quick retreat whenever you go Ravonna Renslayer into Mister Negative in ranked, your opponent can’t leave every single time in Conquest.

Plus, unless they have a way to stop your Ongoing synergy, they have to play at some point and risk their cubes. In that case, the explosive ability provided by Mister Negative will make it much harder for your opponent to disrupt your development, while Hela Tribunal can be stopped with one card timed at the right moment.

Potential Additions

Super-Skrull is the tech card when you go against Ongoing based decks, but is flexible depending on your strategy.

At the exact same spot compared to the ranked report, Hela Corvus looks like a great deck, but unfortunately not the best. It struggles to beat The Living Tribunal, but will demolish Loki when it comes to one-sided match-ups. As for the others, it is often based on the quality of their draw. Against Destroy, both decks just look to develop as much as possible, while others try can stop the deck’s development, such as Junk or Ongoing Affliction.

Potential Additions

Black Knight replaces Giganto in the ranked report.

It’s been a while since High Evolutionary made it into a report, as it felt like the synergy had run its course, unable to compete anymore. Yet, with a more control oriented build, using Shang-Chi and Enchantress alongside Abomination for some explosive potential, Pure Evolutionary managed to post a nice win rate in Conquest.

Multiple reasons can explain this return. First, there is very little of Mobius M. Mobius lately. Then, the proactive mindset a lot of decks seem forced to embrace to develop before Junk can fill their board is great for Cyclops, Scorpion or The Thing. Lastly, Sunspot, Cyclops or Misty Knight can be annoying for Professor X, a card on the rise lately.

Potential Additions

She-Hulk, The Infinaut can bring more points but weaken the deck against Professor X, while reactive cards can be changed depending on the opponents you expect to go against.

In the ranked report, I talked about how it can be difficult to use Move right now, because there isn’t much space left to move by the end of the match. Then, if you played on the correct lane early on, you wouldn’t get a chance to correct your positioning, typically the deck’s greatest strength.

In Conquest, because you know what your opponent is running, finding the correct position immediately is much easier, while you also know how much leeway your opponent will give you. Naturally then, Move feels a little strong in Conquest compared to the ranked mode, although it isn’t a significant difference.

Potential Additions

Magneto can replace Red Hulk while Shang-Chi is just a flexible counter card in the deck.

Typically, Cerebro is more of a Ranked archetype, capitalizing on the surprise effect rather than one able to win multiple rounds once the opponent knows what to expect. Yet, Cerebro 1 did much better in Conquest compared to the ladder since the OTA, likely due to its ability to impact lanes even when unable to play on it.

Then, with most of the metagame looking to block their opponent before they can get set, Cerebro 2 seems to be a nice workaround, able to get enough onto the board early on to then buff its cards with the limited space it has left.

Potential Additions

There were no other Cerebro 2 lists with a similar win rate in Conquest so it is difficult to recommend running other cards. Rogue probably fits if you want to target the Ongoing synergy.

Just like in the ranked mode, Hammer Control came a bit out of nowhere following the OTA, and quickly gained some momentum. So far, the results are very promising, even if Tier 3 might not be so flattering. Yet, let’s keep in mind reactive archetype always need a bit of time to adjust to the metagame, so the deck probably is just getting started.

Then, once the deck will find its ideal list, perfectly tuned to the current metagame, we can expect a push to much higher in the ranking.

Silver Surfer seems to have switched to another build in the ranked mode, which net better results there. In Conquest, the most popular build still is the Toxic one, which keeps losing momentum slowly week after week.

Closing Words

For someone who doesn’t enjoy the current state of the ranked mode, I doubt Conquest would be much different. Sure, you will play multiple rounds against decks you enjoy going against more, but unless you retreat whenever you go up against Junk or a similar build, you’re bound to craft your deck with those in mind as well.

Then, the biggest change in Conquest is the ability to leverage the information, which will impact snap timings, and your decision to stay in the match or not. This could push you to build your deck a little differently, probably edging towards a slightly greedier build, as you can play around counter cards a little better here. Explosive patterns and Energy cheats, in particular, seem to be much stronger in Conquest, as Professor X won’t be a surprise after round one.

As usual, find me on the Marvel Snap Zone community Discord to discuss the report, or you can follow my Twitter page where I share decks and biased opinions about the game.
