Pool (Series) 3 Beginner Decks Part 2 (E to M): 84 Decks for Every Pool 3 Card

Our up to date guide on the best competitive budget Marvel Snap decks built with only 1 card from Pool (Series) 3 and the rest in Pool 1 and 2. There is one deck for every card!

We have now separated this guide into 3 parts! Navigate through them using the menu below, and you should see much faster loading times.

As time passes, more players will start to enter Series (Pool) 3 (starting from Collection Level 486+), where they will start to unlock more powerful and niche cards. This part of Marvel Snap’s progression system is often cited as “where Marvel Snap becomes frustrating, sometimes painful”. The early, lower levels of Pool 3 is described as that moment where you lose to cards you don’t know about, you see new decks you can’t build, and pretty much everybody else has it better than you.

Take it from someone who crossed the Pool 3 desert during beta – it’s not all that bad. In reality, If I had all the cards from the start, I probably wouldn’t have played Marvel Snap as much. Perhaps I may have even stopped because the game hasn’t developed enough for now to offer significant challenges outside of trying to make some use of all the cards you collect while playing.

So yes, Pool 3 can be frustrating: You start loving the game, you want to play it a ton and get more cards to play more decks. Instead of giving you more, the game slows down in terms of collecting cards, and you start needing to open Collector’s Caches and Reserves to find new ones, which can be infuriating if they give you Boosters instead. Well, it is also needed to keep you hooked to the game, and push you to be creative with every card you receive as intended by the developers, so every new card matters.

Not every card is playable, you say? Alright then, watch me tell you how to play every single card in Pool 3 in a deck where everything else are either Pool 1 or 2 cards. Will they all be super strong and win you a ton of games? Probably not. Will I have to reuse some cores several times and just change a card in it? Might be. Am I going to say how good Angela, Blue Marvel or Sandman are to build around most cards in the game? Very likely. But if I can make this challenge, you can probably be a little patient until you collect more cards from Pool 3 before taking it out on social media to vent about it!

Are you ready? We’re going on a journey with 84 entries, one for every Pool 3 card in Marvel Snap. Got a full collection? Looking to built complete meta Pool 3 decks? Check out our deck database or the more advanced Series 3 decks!

Electro

This guy is actually sweet if you are at the very start of Pool 3. It unlocks a super greedy gameplay where you are looking to play Electro on turn three, and then have a 5-Cost into two 6-Costs basically.

While you won’t have a lot of choices regarding the big cards to include, there are enough in the game already to make Electro worth trying.

Falcon

Only used in the bounce archetype, which is a quite Pool 3 intensive deck, Falcon can definitely fit in Devil Dinosaur and The Collector kind of deck as it will boost both units. It also allows playing more 1-Cost cards, especially the disruptive ones like Iceman or Yondu in the deck, if you fancy that.

Gambit

This is a tough one to pull, not because it is bad, but because you will only see it used with other Pool 3 cards such as Wong to create insane combos. At the start of Pool 3 though, you can honestly slot Gambit into a discard deck and be fine with it. Another, bolder take, would be to try a full destroy deck with Killmonger, Elektra, and Odin, looking to simply remove opposing cards from the board.

I guess at least finding a spot for Killmonger makes sense, it will help Gambit to destroy meaningful targets.

Ghost

1-cost cards are still a premium resource at this point in your experience. One helping the Kazoo archetype dodge Killmonger on turn six might be one of the valuable ones. Indeed, thanks to her ability, Ghost makes sure you will reveal second, meaning you can hoard the 1-cost card in hand for turn six, and make sure the opponent cannot interact with them.

In addition, the card being an Ongoing ability, it feels right at home in the Ongoing Kazoo deck, where Spectrum can buff it. A really good pull here.

Ghost Rider

Lady Sif, The Infinaut. Need I say more?

Alright, well, in almost the same idea as what we did with Dracula, Ghost Rider is going to be a nice payoff in any discard deck, allowing us to be a bit more greedy when building our deck.

Giganto

Big boys aren’t that difficult to fit in a deck, as there are cards like Jubilee or Sunspot in the game that go perfectly with that kind of gameplan. As such, if you want to work around Giganto, just think greedy. Or play it over Hulk in your deck, or over The Infinaut and strengthen your potential turn five now that The Infinaut isn’t a consideration.

Goose

Another disruptive card that seems difficult to play. Well, maybe not so much in reality, as you can use Goose to lock your opponent from playing their strongest cards on a specific location, making it easier for you to snipe these later on. It should work perfectly in a control deck that already exists in Pool 2.

Green Goblin

If you like Hobgoblin, you should fall in love with this card immediately. Just like Goose, the card is perfect to play in a disruptive archetype, aiming to block your opponent from developing as they wish.

With the amount of Destroy decks in the game currently, though, I would recommend running Armor alongside Green Goblin. Otherwise, you can honestly run it in a ton of decks, simply as a good 3-Cost card.

Hazmat

This one is a bit of a bummer, as it really needs Wong to shine and create a good deck. However, Hazmat can still be used in a disruptive deck if Odin is there to help. See it as a mini-Killmonger in a way, punishing an opponent for overextending where your side of the board didn’t play any unnecessary units.

Also, in the destroy mechanic, you can use the card and then get rid of the units that are not contributing, feeding Carnage instead for example. There might be another route with Sunspot and The Infinaut where we simply don’t play many units and grow Sunspot, but I liked the destroy idea better.

Hela

One of the cards that is the most Pool 3 demanding if you look at the popular decks here. But fear not, you can still have a ton of fun with Hela even if it is the only Pool 3 card in your collection.

Considering we might not have Invisible Woman or Ghost Rider for now, we can still use cards like Cable or White Queen to grow our hand and reduce the chance of discarding Hela if we draw her early on.

Helicarrier

Right out of Pool 2, there only is Lady Sif to use alongside Helicarrier, apart from a full on discard deck, which never really clicked in the first place.

As you collect more cards, you might get Ghost Rider and other cards to include in this combo to make it stronger. Helicarrier can fit in a Hela deck for example once you collect more of the Pool 3 cards.

For now, we are simply going to use Helicarrier to generate cards in the Devil Dinosaur deck, arguably one of the strongest core at this stage of your collection track.

Can you believe this card was a 2-Cost card once during beta? It was considered one of, if not the best card in the game back then. Crazy considering it is an auto-include in any discard based deck, and also having some nice synergy with Strong Guy, which also used to be 2-Cost!

Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman is a good utility tool, and actually has a deck to be slotted in easily, just like every other Ongoing card if we are being honest, alongside Spectrum.

The card is also a nice utility with the On Reveal mechanic, hiding your effects to surprise your opponent. Or to simply protect a key card to your gameplan from its counter, like Devil Dinosaur from Enchantress or Shang-Chi.

Jane Foster Mighty Thor

Alright you got me! Jane Foster Mighty Thor has no synergy outside of Pool 3 as, Wasp, Yellowjacket, Mister Negative or Thor all could be waiting further down the line at this point. Unfortunately, she is the one card in Pool 3 that doesn’t do anything if she is your first pull, outside of being a eight power, five cost card.

Nah, just kidding, you can destroy Sabretooth, shuffle it back in the deck, and then Jane Foster will draw it! How incredible is that? We just beat AttilanThis trick also works for Swarm !

We tried our best to find something to abuse Jane in Pool One or Two, but sadly, we’ve been bested. If you open this one first… I’m sorry!

Juggernaut

Mostly famous for its combination with Storm, Juggernaut joins Jessica Jones as one of the best followup once you get it. This gives the deck a really solid chance to win Storm‘s lane, and only needs to focus on winning one more after that.
In that regard, tech cards like Enchantress or Shang-Chi tend to do great to surprise the opponent who heavily invested into the other lanes.

Kingpin

Kingpin has a lot of friends in the game, but almost every single one of them awaits in Pool 3. As a result, this one easily was one of the toughest ones to create, and I probably would agree this is the unlucky pull of the bunch.

But I never back down from a challenge, and with the help of some friends, we created this beauty. The concept is to use Cloak to move the cards we want to destroy to Kingpin’s location on turn six, like Bucky Barnes or Nova. And we tested it, you can Cloak on turn five, surprise Kingpin on turn six, and watch the fireworks from a clueless opponent.

Leader

Nerfed to a limited ability of what it once was, Leader went from one of the most feared card in the game to a card not many people believed in anymore. Indeed, the card now needs to guess where the opponent will play in order to be truly effective. Lucky for you, there might be a deck which can help with that: Ongoing.

Through Armor, Cosmo, Professor X and such annoying cards, we can push a lot of decks to play outside certain lanes. Also, with Warpath in our deck, and this deck generally seeming like it goes all in on a lane. We should be able to entice our opponent to play on a certain lane, and then punish them with Leader for it!

Luke Cage

A difficult card to use early in your Pool 3 experience, Luke Cage being typically associated with Hazmat or Typhoid Mary, two other Pool 3 cards. If it is your first pull when entering Pool 3, Luke Cage can probably serve as a Scorpion counter, or help on some specific featured or hot locations.

In that regard, the card can find a home in the Ongoing archetype, helping to protect your card, and making sure your synergies will work as intended, no matter what happens.

Magik

Magik will gain more value as time passes, becoming a nice support to most of your combo decks, as Limbo means you get one more draw. Entering Pool 3 though, she mostly becomes a nice addition to the Control archetype, giving more time to gather information, and have more mana on turn 7 to play several reactive cards at once.

Magneto

Just like any other big power cards, Magneto can honestly help a ton of archetypes as the big card atop the curve.

A core that I think allows Magneto to shine is one with Sandman in a multi-lane control deck, as the card will force the opponent to only play one card a turn, usually resulting in them playing expensive cards. When he comes down on turn six, Magneto can remove three and four costs from a contested lane, usually resulting in a win of said lane for us.

The can also fit nicely in a control deck with Storm, giving the deck a big power source while interacting with the opponent’s side of the board.

While it was a bit of a curiosity when released, Maria Hill never made it into Devil Dinosaur or The Collector deck’s as a staple like many believed, Agent Coulson and Sentinel proving better in the end.

Maximus

We just pulled one of the highest power card in the 3-Cost pool. And although its ability can be scary to play, it is totally fine if we can mitigate it.

Sandman is an easy pairing, as it doesn’t matter how many cards are in hand if you can only play one. Otherwise, you can also simply twist your Kazoo deck a little to include more 3-Cost cards and play Maximus on turn six, when the drawn cards don’t matter. Cosmo is another card you can play, so Maximus simply does not trigger.

Lastly, you can play the card in a reactive deck with a little point deficit. Your opponent drawing more cards shouldn’t change much to what you have to answer, or planned to answer anyway, and you get a lot of points for that.

A bit of a difficult card to abuse until we get either Lockjaw or Cerebro in Pool 3, M'Baku is still a 1-Cost card. This means we can always fit it in a Kazoo shell and profit from having a free 1-cost at the end of the game, if we didn’t draw into it yet.

Once we get one of the mentioned cards, M’baku can be used in a Cerebro 2 deck, or simply alongside Lockjaw as we can use the card to send M'Baku back in the deck if we happen to draw it.

Pool 3 isn’t exactly a friendly zone for the move Archetype, which tends to be much better while still in Pool 2. I actually had a friend pull this one early in their Pool 3 experience, and complain about it! Mojo is one of the best 2-Cost in the entire game, how could he?

Well, he simply didn’t know how to maximize the chances of Mojo activating, but there are a lot of cards to help do that. Like Storm, to force the opponent to play on two locations only. I could also mention Cosmo, or Armor which could also limit some archetypes on where to play their cards.

Oh, you just pulled the same card I did when I entered Pool 3. Honestly, the card isn’t stellar, but it can occasionally discard an opposing win condition or weaken a Devil Dinosaur. I am a discard fanboy anyway, so I was happy with my shiny card.

Mysterio

Mysterio is a great card, that can fit the bill for many decks. The card is especially known for its synergy with Bishop, triggering it three times, or providing great targets for Carnage with its clones.

Because it fills the board quite nicely, the card can also be associated with Ant Man, Blue Marvel or Mojo to name a few, as those shine when there are a lot of cards alongside them. So don’t feel bad about this pull, you would have asked for it eventually.

Mystique

Mystique is a top tier pull early in your journey, and a top tier card overall in Marvel Snap, lucky you! Have any Ongoing effect you feel like it is so good you would want to have twice in your deck, just throw Mystique in there. A good starting point would be Ka-Zar, Blue Marvel, and Iron Man, three of the best Ongoing abilities you will freely have access to.

Devil Dinosaur can also be a great card to copy with Mystique, creating a double-digit 3-cost card most of the time.

Closing Words

Doing this challenge took me about three days, and without some friends pitching in some ideas, I probably wouldn’t have this much diversity across all decks. Even then, I have to acknowledge that I reused some cores a lot more than I wished, and the reason probably is that there aren’t that many cards that can push diversity on their own.

Nevertheless, I hope this huge list of every collectible card in Pool 3 so far helped a few aspiring deck builders somewhere, and maybe smoothen your experience entering Pool 3. I see more and more players talk about hoarding their credits, trying to collect a lot of cards at once before entering Pool 2, or Pool 3.

To those, I want to say: Just have fun with the game.

There isn’t a competitive mode yet, no tournaments, no competitive scene, nothing. And yet, everyone is super concerned about their rank and how their experience is going to be ruined if they collect one too many cards at the wrong time.

The myth surrounding Marvel Snap’s matchmaking system is covered in my ladder climbing strategy article, which is not solely determined by your collection level, but also your rank and MMR. Nobody except the developers know exactly how this works!

Nothing is going to happen, at worse, you will lose a few Cubes and learn something about the game. At best, you will have a more enjoyable time on Marvel Snap, thanks to having more cards to build around.

I just spent three entire days building decks for a situation I am not in, simply because it looked fun to do so. I believe this is the only good way to enjoy Marvel Snap so far (and what the developers intended so you end up upgrade your cards), the time for competing will come soon enough considering the hype surrounding the game.

Until then, feel free to join us on Discord to share your decks or recently acquired cards. You can also find me directly on Twitter for any demand.

Good Game Everyone.
