Series 4 Card Tier List
Tier | Card | Rating |
---|---|---|
Tier 1 | Darkhawk | 9/10 |
Tier 1 | Stature | 9/10 |
Tier 1 | Zabu | 9/10 |
Tier 2 | Knull | 7/10 |
Tier 2 | Master Mold | 7/10 |
Tier 2 | MODOK | 7/10 |
Tier 3 | Negasonic Teenage Warhead | 5/10 |
Tier 3 | Nimrod | 5/10 |
Tier 4 | Shanna | 3/10 |
Tier 1
Zabu
He is a vital part of the majority of the competitive decks in the game.
Reducing the cost of cards in card games is valuable and with time players are likely to continue to adjust to new ways of playing the card. Playing Zabu on 2 and playing Rockslide for 3 energy on turn 3 is potentially one of the strongest plays you can make right now. This then sets up future power plays. Additionally he is a vital part of Sera Control decks right now and is even an enabler for many flavours of lockdown decks.
Darkhawk

Darkhawk is living up to expectations, he is an archetype defining card, flexible to some degree and can be slotted into several different shells. Very few cards are the absolute requirement for a deck like Darkhawk. Darkhawk remains a card which needs to be activated by other cards though. Zabu in particular is prominent and key part of most successful Darkhawk decks along with Rockslide.
No other card does what this card does and if your looking to play a Darkhawk deck, you need Darkhawk.
Stature

Stature creates a new package alongside Moon Knight and Black Bolt. They form a cohesive trio that disrupts the opponent in addition to packing some explosive power. At the end of the day, Black Bolt is an eight power card enabling a seven power card for one energy on the next turn. This is a total of fifteen power for six energy, with five left to work with on turn six. This can then be paired with other Discard packages, Aero or Shuri to name a few specific packages which are finding success.
Tier 2
Knull

Knull is a card with an incredibly strong effect, entertaining and fun to use, but currently could be defined as the biggest “win more” card in the game. He is great with Galactus, but you don’t need him, he is great with Arnim Zola, but you don’t need him, he is great inverted but you guessed it, you don’t need him. In fact he actively makes some of these archetypes he should fit into worse as he can be drawn instead of other more flexible cards.
The effect cannot be written off, anyone who has faced off against a 20+ power Knull knows their remains significant potential for builds to abuse Knull in future. The Arnim Zola build for example is close to being a factor but unfortunately suffers from just being a worse version of the current DeathWave decks and easily countered by meta factors. Worth keeping an ongoing eye on, but hard to recommend the card.
Master Mold

Master Mold pairs with other underplayed cards such as Ronan the Accuser, Maximus, and Baron Mordo and creates a package which can be the basis of a deck and also can be played as part of other decks.
The issue holding back Master Mold is how effective the deck is when we compare it with similar cards such as Devil Dinosaur and Darkhawk which can require less set up, less potential downside and higher ceilings. This holds back Master Mold for now, but any card with a unique effect and synergies can with time be optimized and become a powerful player. Worth watching for now but hard to recommend due to how linear the deck it slots into.
MODOK
MODOK is the most consistent discard card in the game, as it discards your entire hand. This makes it a solid Tier 2 card as it is a excellent inclusion in all discard decks. However the mark against MODOK is the the strength of the archetype. The decks can do very powerful things, but the way Discard is set up in Marvel Snap at the moment we often need the cards to align to hit the heights the deck can reach consistently. Strong card but only recommended if Discard decks are your favorite type of decks.
Tier 3
Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Negasonic Teenage Warhead adds a new tool to the destroy archetypes which can be used both defensively and proactively. The power of this card is however her potential place in other deck types such as control. She has proven to be a surprising tech card which can be used with priority and through cards like Cosmo.
If we can limit the game and force our opponents to have to play into certain lanes, Negasonic Teenage Warhead is often a checkmate situation which is incredibly powerful in Marvel Snap. She remains a tech card however and this limits her application.
Nimrod

Nimrod is proving to be a narrow card in application, primarily due to the energy cost. Nimrod is strong in Galactus decks as it enables the ‘Turn 6 Galactus‘ plan, but in practice this is rarely the primary way to play the Galactus deck.
Nimrod has also worked effectively in decks based around buffing them and activating with Destroyer but these have not been a relevant meta force.
Tier 4
Shanna
Shanna is a solid part of some flood strategies. The issue for this card is just how many other cards can fill the slot and potentially be more flexible if your going towards these strategies. Additionally, the archetype she fits into can be countered which limits the potential for the card. Their are other applications to explore such as lockdown strategies but the potential of the card to be used in new and interesting ways in the future seems low.
Conclusion
That’s it! All Series 4 cards in Marvel Snap currently. Marvel Snap is an unique game, and these cards can lead to different variants and at times you may just like a certain character more than others. So a final disclaimer – chasing the card you want with your heart instead of you head is not wrong.

I hope you guys find an editor, or have someone go over posts before they go live. The amount of typos and grammatical errors is distracting v.v
Staff have been away over the holiday period some I’m sure some errors are slipping through – we’ll try to get it tightened up! 🙂
Proud owner of the worst Series 4 cards, M’Baku and Helicarrier! I laugh so I don’t cry….
Btw, you guys are doing an excellent job. I appreciate the frequent updates, rather than worrying about a little grammar correction here and there, lol.
I donno man, M’Baku has been feeling great in Cerebro-2. He definitely has yoinked some wins from my opponent that I had no right winning. Nobody expects him, which makes the wins he steals even more hilarious!
Definitely replaceable, but if you have Cerebro and Mystique, it’s definitely worth using.
He’s not useless if you end up using all your mana the entire game and have slots left open. That’s it.
Problem is, due to the game having no mulligan, and the small size of the deck, you almost always will draw him, in which case any other 1-drop with an actual ability is going to be better.
What is the M’Baku Easter egg??? Can’t find anything online
Hint: It happens if you have M’Baku in your deck and all 12 slots are full.
Great article! The Black Panther deck is missing Black Panther though haha
You guys certainly rate Valkyrie and Bast very highly. They should be good, in theory, their On Reveals are strong. However, I hardly see them played in Infinite, and neither are in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 meta deck.
