Table of Contents
The Marvel Snap Hellfire Gala December 2023 Season contains quite few Bundles basically contains quite a few bundles and therefore good bundles are also naturally fewer in number. But let’s break down which ones you should pay attention to first.
This guide is for upcoming future content. All details are not final and may change upon release. Check out our datamining article for more information!
How the Chart Works
You can also find previous seasons’ comparison charts here:
Lift with Might and Lift with Sorcery
These two bundles are available exclusively in the Nuverse Web Shop and you can only choose one of them. Their value is quite good, but significantly lower than other bundles that used to be exclusive to the web shop. From the two we advise you to prioritize the Sera bundle, and you can read more about Lift with Might and Lift with Sorcery bundles in our separate article:
Snow Daze
This bundle is an interesting one. The thing is that it contains a variant on Nebula, a card that is still in series 5. Therefore, the bundle should be considered from two perspectives: as a bundle with a variant and a bundle with a card.
When considering the case where you have Nebula and only get her variant from the bundle, the value of this bundle is barely above Token Tuesdays. Such a variant is just shown above, since our calculations are based on this case.
And below is the reverse case, if you’re expecting to get the card instead of spending 6,000 Tokens on it.
As you can see, if you don’t have Nebula, the value of this bundle is incredible and you should definitely consider buying it. So in the end, on average for a player, this bundle is likely to be at a high level. You just have to remember that if you buy it with Nebula in your collection, you lose almost all of the value that the bundle has to offer.
Oh No, He’s Hot!!!
I rarely say this, but I’ll be honest – I don’t know why this bundle exists. Really, I have no idea why it got this price and content.
Cyclops is a starter card and he only used in a couple decks, and he is not exclusive in any part. If we put absolutely all the contents of the bundle together, we get about 6,000 Gold, which barely pays for it. Bundles are usually profitable by the mere parameter of progression or cosmetics at the very least. But here we see complete underperformance on all metrics. You pay a huge amount of Gold just for the Cyclops variant and the title. Please avoid buying this and rather buy literally any other bundle for Gold.
Ringing in Your Ears
Oh, another very expensive and high benefit bundle. What can I say? Yes, it’s worth it mathematically. Yes, the large amount of Gold in it is very good and is the best content for a bundle of this cost.
But at the same time, the downside of the bundle is that in terms of relative value it is noticeably worse than its predecessors from a similar price category. For example, if we take the number of cards for every $10, Death Becomes Her and Aspect of Heimdall bundles had a value of 0.15 cards for $10, the Peach, You’re So Cool bundle had a value of 0.17, and the Ringing in Your Ears bundle has only 0.14, which is even worse than mid-tier bundles like Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, The Power To Moo You, and Species: Flerken. Threat: Adorable.
Therefore, if you want to get the most for every dollar spent, and for example, you want to get Gold, then you should look at bundles like Kings in the Castle and the fourth January Mystery Bundle. And the Ringing in Your Ears bundle is pretty much skippable. Unless of course you can afford absolutely every single bundle or are in love with the presented variant.
A Little Class, A Little Sophistication
Please note, that originally, this bundle was different and offered a solid 3.5 value for $40. Now it’s in a completely different price range.
Here we have the offspring of such bundles as Death Becomes Her and Peach, You’re So Cool. As the price went up to 100 USD, so did the content, and not just in proportion to the relative value. Instead, the value here is significantly higher than we’re usually used to seeing, and is much closer to the Pro Bundle Mk. III than anything else.
However, there’s a bit of a problem here. All this value is concentrated exclusively in Collector’s Tokens. There are no Credits, which along with getting cards give cosmetics and allow you to get new splits, and there is no gold, which can be converted into anything. So this is an extremely restrictive bundle, which for 100 dollars can only offer 10,000 tokens (1.67 cards Series 5 cards) and two variants and avatars.
That said, the progress value of the bundle itself is lower than the Pro Bundle Mk. III at the same cost. It’s clear that this value is converted into two variants and an avatar, but combined with Collectors Tokens it makes the bundle very narrowly focused on those who are willing to spend a lot of money and want to buy 1 or 2 specific cards in the shop.
Because it’s so limited and truncated compared to the more flexible Pro Bundle series, we don’t think it’s a good enough bundle to buy except for the above category of players. Therefore, we give it a 4 for high value but low flexibility.
Rip and Tear
Even though this bundle has 3 out of 5 stars (fair enough), I’m a big fan of it. The thing is, this is the first time we’ve seen a unique non-repeatable bundle with such a low price tag in Gold. This allows those who just got into the game a couple days ago to buy it and get a decent value, since you’ll have just about that amount of Gold in the first few stages.
It also helps to get good content per Gold for those who can’t afford an expensive bundle like Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice right now but still want to get a profitable deal. If you chose to convert the currency from 1,200 Gold, you would get 500 Credits less than in the bundle, and you would also lose cosmetics. And it’s a nice value for the price, not great, but very good.
Keep in mind, however, that in addition to the upcoming Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice bundle, there’s also another expensive bundle expected, Boon of the Savage Lands, both of which are very high value. So think about it, maybe you want to save up for one of them, taking into account that a F2P player gets on average no more than 2,000 Gold per month, and a player with a season pass gets no more than 3,500 Gold.
Naughty or Nice?
This bundle is somewhat similar to the season pass in terms of content. 1,000 Gold and 250 Credits are numbers pretty close to the 900 Gold and 300 Credits contained in season passes. Yes, of course a season pass also allows you to get a new card, weekly challenges and cosmetics. But if you do the evaluation in terms of currency – they are pretty similar.
Also keep in mind that while it’s not known for sure yet, it’s likely that Korg‘s Rocks will also have a themed variant.
All in all, as you can see from the numbers above the Naughty or Nice? bundle is pretty good and gives a lot of Gold, which is a huge advantage. So most likely the breakpoint here will be whether you like the cosmetics or not.
Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice
Finally we get to this masterpiece. I won’t describe how profitable this bundle is and why – you can see everything by the numbers above. If it stays the same by the time of its release, it will be the most profitable bundle for Gold we’ve ever seen. Its quality is on par with the $70 bundles, so it’s definitely a must buy, it’s worth every Gold you have.
However, if you don’t have enough Gold to buy it now – I advise you to start saving up for the Boon of the Savage Lands bundle. It’s worse than Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice, but it will give you the best value among all the upcoming bundles. Keep in mind that a F2P player gets up to 2,000 Gold per month, and a player with a season pass gets up to 3,500 Gold.
Token Tuesday Bundles
Token Tuesday Bundles are slowly losing their appeal, although they remain the starting point for evaluating any bundle. They are still good if you need to buy specific cards and don’t want to save up Gold for a long time to buy expensive and more profitable bundles to do so.
I can hardly recommend buying these bundles – at least not this month – but their pure value hasn’t gone anywhere, and they can help in a difficult situation to get the missing Collector’s Tokens to buy a coveted card.
Mystery Pack Bundles
We already know that the first Mystery Bundle in December was significantly altered at release. Also, the order numbers of the bundles don’t match the order of release, so it’s almost certain that these bundles will eventually be changed. Also, we don’t know the price of the Mystery bundle number 4. So in this section, I’ll generally tell you which bundles to look out for, should they suddenly remain the same.
Surprisingly I have to say that this month’s Mystery Bundles have changed significantly for the better. Now their value generally matches the value of similar bundles with unique variants, instead of lagging behind them significantly as it was before.
The second mystery bundle at 5 USD is quite good well for the price. I think this is your bundle if you don’t want to spend more than 5 USD this month.
Buying the first or third mystery bundle makes sense because of the value, but having a randomness factor when getting a variant is something to keep in mind. They’re only good if you’re happy with the variant, and there are just as good buying options from the named bundles category, like Naughty or Nice? and Snow Daze.
Ticket Time Bundles
Ticket Time Bundles have reappeared this month, but just like the November season they are unfortunately not outstanding value. The point is probably that Second Dinner overemphasizes the importance of Conquest Tickets, and so the value of the bundles ends up being too low, since getting tickets is a fairly easy process.
Booster Pack Bundles
Booster Packs, just as before, are too bad to be a real way to speed up your progress and get more cards. Just don’t buy them – especially with the addition of Conquest mode since you can easily get lots of boosters in the Proving Grounds without risking anything.
