Valley of the Hand Featured Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks

The best Marvel Snap decks and strategy guide for the Featured Location, Valley of the Hand: After turn 5, your destroyed cards revive here.

The Featuired Location for the next 24 hours is Valley Of The Hand: After turn 5, your destroyed cards revive here. This is a brand new Location added to Marvel Snap for the August 2023 season, Big In Japan, that starts on selected Wednesdays at 3 AM GMT. For 24 hours, it has a 50% chance of showing up in games.

Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So what will you play?

Strategy and General Tips

After Turn 5, your destroyed cards revive in this location. This gives us two main points to consider: the location has four spots to fill, and your cards have to be destroyed by the end of Turn 5. The new card Lady Deathstrike can help here, but can we easily destroy four cards by Turn 5 on the other locations? And if we can, what do we want to destroy?

Carnage and Bucky Barnes are a synergy worth considering. If you can successfully destroy these two cards and they revive on the location, they can return and reactivate. This will be important because it gives you the opportunity to play other cards on the location on Turn 5.

Debrii and Lady Deathstrike may be one of the more interesting ways to play the new card for this location. The plan will be to destroy Rocks or The Hood on the opponent’s side of the board so they’re revived and junk the lane. We can combine this with the above destroy synergy to try filling both sides of the location on Turn 5.

The recommended play, though, is to try to lock the lane down with Professor X. As this card can come down on Turn 5, the end of turn effect will fail and any plans to revive cards on the location will be denied. If your opponent has relied on this in anyway, its a huge blow. Additionally, the location is likely to be kept free in the earlier turns.

The level 1 play this week is Destroy. Two cards need discussion so I can explain my reasoning. Yondu has been cut to avoid giving the opponent a free revive, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead makes an appearance. This card could be used to destroy a card on your side and then have both of them revive on Turn 5 (with NTW as protection). Negasonic Teenage Warhead on Turn 3 or Turn 4 followed by Wolverine, Deadpool, or Sabretooth is Plan A.

After that, we’re just hoping for the revive order to allow for NTW to live on the location. Assuming all On Reveals activate, you can also use Venom on Carnage in the early-game in order to revive the buffed Carnage and reactivate the effect.

This location gives us an excellent opportunity to experiment with High Evolutionary. This build drops Storm due to the current meta of cards that make her an average play; it runs Armor instead as both a counter play and defense for our side of the board.

It also features Professor X to stop the location from doing its thing. This deck is still very solid, and the location should give some extra percentage points towards your win rate.

This one is experimental given how linear the location is this week. The goal here is to send two cards over with The Hood, Debrii, and Viper before playing Lady Deathstrike on Turn 5. This then moves those cards into the location and (hopefully) locks it out.

In addition, all these cards can be cleared by the destroy cards. Nimrod and Shuri act as our back up plan, as we can destroy them on the final turn to get the required power to win the game.

This deck runs Storm and Jessica Jones as the strong Series 2 throwback. The early-game is focused on activating several Destroy effects to allow for a Turn 5 revival of at least Bucky Barnes. If we can Deathlok or Carnage, we can reactivate the Bucky Barnes while pushing power into other locations.
