Guide

The Love & Thunder Beta Rewind bundle is identical in value to the Atlantis Beach Club Rewind Bundle introduced a month earlier. The sheer amount of cosmetics from the July 2022 season pass makes this bundle with a Cosmetic Value of 6.0 a bargain to buy compared to in-game shop prices. However, the Love & Thunder bundle becomes hostage to its ambitions. At $10, you’ll inevitably want to compare it to the current season pass, which will probably have at least the same amount of cosmetics, right?

And the answer is yes, a season pass really does give you a lot more cosmetics. To be exact, any modern season pass for $10 gives you 300 Credits, 900 Gold, 7 variants, 3 avatars, 3 titles, 2 card backs and, most importantly, a new Series 5 card. Out of this entire list, The Love & Thunder bundle will only give you 3 variants, 2 card backs, and 1 title. The lack of progress value can be seen on our comparison chart as well, this bundle naturally has a Progress Value of 0.1 (8.6%) and won’t give you any resources to get new cards as it’s solely focused on cosmetics.

Okay, this bundle is totally not designed to get new cards, but what about cosmetics? Out of the three variants, only Thor is in Series 3, giving you the option to use him as soon as you get the variant, even if you don’t have the base version of the card. Thor definitely wouldn’t be a bad addition to your collection at low collection levels. He can find a place in almost any archetype and doesn’t need strong synergies to be playable. However buying a bundle with almost zero Progress Value for the sake of it is hardly a good decision. As a new player, you will get much, much more out of buying a season pass with a bad card than you will from buying this bundle with Thor in it.

But also worth noting a small advantage of these three variants – each of them belongs to a different deck archetype, which means it’s more likely that you’ll be able to find a good use for at least one of them.

As for the use of variants by players with almost a full collection – I think it’s no secret that Tor is a great addition to any Lockjaw deck. And even though High Evolutionary was recently nerfed, it’s still a pretty strong deck for both ladder and conquest.

Discard decks almost always have Lady Sif in them (with the exception of MODOK decks, which usually focus on discarding the entire hand at once), so if you like this archetype, you’ll definitely have a chance to use the Lady Sif variant.

Despite several seasons in a row aimed at supporting the move archetype, these decks are still pretty weak in the current meta. So you’ll probably rarely use Heimdall unless you’re a true fan of move decks.

In the end, this is a purely cosmetic bundle that offers too little to the average player. But since such bundles are basically designed to get cosmetics at a good value, and the Love & Thunder bundle has a cosmetic value of 6.0, this one is a great option for those who like at least two or three of the cosmetic items on the offer. That’s why we give this bundle 3 stars out of 5.
