Hell’s Kitchen Hot Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks

The best Marvel Snap decks and strategy guide for the Hot Location, Hell's Kitchen: Draw a 1-Cost card from your deck.

The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Hell's Kitchen: Draw a 1-Cost card from your deck. This is a Hot Location for Marvel Snap’s October 2023 season, Bloodstone. For the next 24 hours, it will now have a 50% chance of showing up in ranked ladder games. The increased frequency does not apply to Conquest mode.

Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! Let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks are for the new meta!

Strategy and General Tips

Hell's Kitchen is a location that is deceptive in the impact it has on the game, primarily because you draw the card from your deck. There are two options here: include some key 1-drops so you are more likely to draw them each game (like Human Torch, Deadpool, and Kitty Pryde), or just have lots of 1-drops in your deck in order to guarantee an extra draw each game. Both are valid, but having a strategy to exploit the extra 1-Cost card and guarantee a draw is the best way.

Human Torch and Deadpool are the most obvious synergies to explore. These two cards appearing early in the game will allow them to scale exponentially and, at times, win lanes by themselves. We can build our deck to have only one or two 1-drops to ensure we draw them from the location.

n extra draw is almost guaranteed for most lists, which should set up for bigger later game plays. This extra consistency helps us add two to three free cards to our hand with Beast, which gives us more explosive final turns more often.

Thanos runs at least six 1-Cost cards. The synergy is clear here since you will almost always be guaranteed the extra draw from the location, and the card you draw will usually draw another card, and so on. This leads to the big Turn 4 and Turn 5 plays that are pivotal for most Thanos decks. It’s a simple synergy, but it’s one worth exploring if you’re going to play ladder during this location.

With the greedier options covered, the best way may be just playing some key 1-drops that enable your deck. Nebula and Sunspot are great examples. These can be difference makers for the decks that run them, and Hell's Kitchen ensures you find them more often.

Thanos decks have a lot of good 1-drops, making them an obvious synergy with the location. It adds to your draw engine and lets you get to your power plays more often. We can easily include some strong tech options against the below decks also, making this one a deck which benefits from the location and likely shuts down many games against other decks which benefit from the location. The clear winner in the current metagame which should be even stronger during this location period.

Bounce may have lost ground in the face of Mobius M. Mobius, but extra draw combined with the ability to include the Darkhawk package can help this deck gain points during the location. With one simple change – adding Rogue to help with the current metagame, we have a deck which can take advantage of the location whilst being improved by the additional draw every time the location flips.

Following the same logic, we have this Destroy deck. We now have even more one drops thanks too Nico Minoru so we can gain the advantage from the location easily. We then have both Taskmaster and Death to help spread power (so if we run into Mobius M. Mobius we can go for Deadpool and Taskmaster instead). The deck gained ground thanks to the inclusion of Nico Minoru and now gets added benefit from the location.

The Phoenix Force deck has 3 key 1 drops you generally want to draw, making the location almost a targeted draw effect for the deck which allows the synergies to come off more often. The downside being, this deck is easily targetable and relying on Human Torch lines can be fragile at best. This is one fun way to approach the location.

Whilst the recent Spectrum buff has not warped the game, she is significantly more playable and for lower collection players this buff was huge. It allows for solid proactive decks including Armor and Cosmo to be built which can add power across the board.

Ongoing with Spectrum is likely to be one of the stronger Series 2 decks for sometime given this synergy and although we only have three cards we can draw here, we can aim to counter opposing decks instead with the Armor and Cosmo duo.

Ebony Maw may seem hard at first but the plan is to fill a lane with Ebony Maw on 3 which the location should allow more often and add later with Spectrum and the go-wide ongoing cards.
