Baxter Building Hot Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks
The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Baxter Building: Whoever is winning this location gets +3 Power at the others. Hot Locations happen every week, starting Sunday at 3 AM GMT. The chosen location has a 60% increased chance of appearing during games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So what do you play?

Strategy and General Tips
On the surface, it may appear the plan here is to swarm the location and gain the advantage. In practice though, you are always better off playing the bigger cards here and supporting them on other locations. +3 power is a surprising amount and swinging Baxter Building late game can lead to a lot of +4 and +8 Cube games.
Additionally, this a location which is great into location interaction such as Storm and Scarlet Witch. This is also due to the surprise factor as your opponent may be relying on the +3 power on the other lanes.
Pool 1
This On Reveal deck includes Ant Man so you can push the extra power on the full Baxter Building. Additionally playing Rocket Raccoon or Star-Lord onto Baxter Building is huge. You can re-trigger them on the last turn with Odin and hopefully push extra power and send White Tigers everywhere.
Pool 2
Upping the difficulty level with the Pool 2 feature this week. Play The Infinaut fairly? Yeah why not! The deck tops at 4 except for America Chavez and The Infinaut. This allows us to play on curve and try to control lanes with Storm and Armor. America Chavez not only helps us find the card but also we know what our Turn 6 is. So we will know by Turn 5 if we are drawing The Infinaut. If we don’t draw The Infinaut, our Turn 5 can be other cards, but if we do and we have locked down a lane with Storm and the supporting cast, we can skip Turn 5 and Play The Infinaut on 6 into Baxter Building!
Series 3
Before I move on to the two decks I think are actually excellent into the location, but you have seen them already a hundred times before – so let’s look at a build-around attempt. The goal here is to use a similar curve to the Patriot + Ultron combo and try to make one big lane, preferably on Baxter Building, which sends power everywhere else.
Due to the heavy counter of Enchantress, Cosmo is here to try and help block. Ideally we Wave on 3, into Sera or Magik, then start assembling an Onslaught combo lane. Namor fights alone on another lane if possible and Klaw and Mister Fantastic are also excellent on an Onslaught lane. Omega Red may be too greedy but is there as a starting point also.
Time to dampen the spirits: Spectrum + Destroyer and the classic Destroyer with Goblins both are excellent into the location. Featuring Spectrum Destroyer this week as it is less susceptible to Destroy effects on the other side of the board and plays well into all fields. Mojo gains power with this location as a many players end up stacking Baxter Building making Mojo a 2 energy 8 power card.
Also, as many players will either avoid or stack Baxter Building early on, Professor X stocks go up locking down neglected locations. This deck features both these cards and a solid strategy. Dropping Iron Man for Klaw makes sense too, as he can help push power elsewhere, potentially back into locked down Baxter Buildings.
Finally, we have an Electro Lane Control style deck. This allows us to push power into Baxter Building with cards such as The Infinaut by skipping Turn 4 instead due to Electro, lock down lanes with Storm and Jessica Jones, or use Odin and Doctor Doom to go wide.
Aero is also great at disrupting plays into Baxter Building if required and the deck can make great use of Enchantress both proactively and turning off opponent plays. If looking to build on this, Sunspot and Armor may be redundant due to the later power pushes.
Silver Surfer
As a bonus, featuring Silver Surfer with this build. Here we want to use Wong and Mystique alongside Sera or Psylocke to maximise the number of 3 drops we can play in one turn. Either Wong on 4, Mystique and Psylocke on 5 (giving you 10 energy for last turn) or Wong, into Sera. Both allow us to play three 3 energy cards on 6 and hopefully flood Baxter Building to win the location alongside another location. Maximus and Polaris will help as they have high initial stat lines which can be buffed with Silver Surfer.
