Today’s Marvel Snap Hot Location is Baxter Building: Whoever is winning this location gets +3 Power at the others. This is a Hot Location for Marvel Snap’s October 2023 season, Bloodstone. For the next 24 hours, it will now have a 50% chance of showing up in games. Let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks for the new meta!

Strategy and General Tips
On the surface, it may appear like the plan here is to swarm the location and gain the advantage. In practice, though, you are almost always better off playing your bigger cards here and supporting them on other locations. The extra power power is a surprising amount, and swinging Baxter Building in the late game can lead to a lot of +4 and +8 Cube games.

Cards like Sunspot and Nebula are good early cards to play in your deck that gain advantages from the potential scaling. These cards will demand an answer from your opponent, and you can transition to dropping some big cards on the location later in the game (like Devil Dinosaur) to win the lane. Just remember to include Armor in your deck to protect your power on the lane.

Since this is a location you can reasonably expect someone to play into later in the game, you can also play the Guardians of the Galaxy cards (Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Drax, etc.) later in the game to flood the location and try to win with efficient additional power.

This is a location that is great with location interaction such as Storm and Scarlet Witch. This is mainly due to the surprise factor, as your opponent may be relying on the +3 power to win the other lanes. Carrying one of these cards for this location can surprise an opponent who may believe they have the win from extra power.

Invisible Woman is an excellent card for this location if your opponents are not playing Armor. It allows you to set up an unknown amount of power on the location, as well as play tech cards to counter your opponent’s plays on the location, such as Shang-Chi and Killmonger.
Junk decks in general (and, in particular, Green Goblin) are also great for the location because you can aim to lock out Baxter Building, which prevents the opponent from gaining extra power while also junking other lanes to limit what they can do.
Invisible Woman
This deck does a lot with very little, and it’s also hard to counter thanks to Invisible Woman and Luke Cage. We can use Invisible Woman to pre-load key tech cards or even Hit Monkey on the location. Then, we usually remain behind on priority so we can counter another lane to get the win. This is a very flexible deck that benefits a lot during the hot location.
Guardians of the Galaxy
There’s been one change to the most popular Guardians list for the location. Green Goblin helps us limit the location while we add overstatted cards via the Guardians to the location. We can also use Storm on the location or elsewhere and aim to win Baxter Building to add extra power to the Flooded lane later.
Sentry
This Sentry Junk list can have some interesting interactions during the location that are worth exploring. If the location lands in the right spots, you can use The Void or Sentry to flip it. With the way the junk happens, you’re often winning the second location by a small margin, so winning Baxter Building for the extra power can make a big difference.
Shuri
Last up in the recommended decks is the king of overpowering locations, Shuri. This deck can easily win Baxter Building and then divert enough power to another lane to win the game. Armor defends what we are trying to do and disrupts the opposing gameplan, and then we set up big power that we can copy with Taskmaster. Alioth is the extra addition here that we can use to counter an opposing final turn big play for the Baxter Building.
Series 2 and below (pre- CL 474)
This looks to incorporate some of the Guardians to challenge Baxter Building and Storm lanes. Gamora can be a more consistent [5/12] due to the Baxter Building expectation, which allows for more flexibility on Turn 6 rather than playing for a big 6-Cost play.
