The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Savage Land: Add two Raptors on each side of this location. This is a featured Location for Marvel Snap’s October 2023 season, Bloodstone. For 24 hours, it has a 50% chance of showing up in games.
Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So, what should you play?
Strategy and General Tips
When Savage Land flips, two Raptors without abilities are created on each side of the location. This cannot be controlled using location effects, so building decks that can take advantage of the Raptors is the best path forward.

The Raptors can help you quickly meet the condition for Elsa Bloodstone activations. This can be used with a range of decks to scale above your opponent and abuse the location. It will work with Nightcrawler and Jeff the Baby Land Shark really well since you can easily get extra activations by moving those cards away to win other locations.

Man-Thing combined with Luke Cage can reduce the Raptor‘s power consistently, which will require the opponent to have Luke Cage or some way of destroying the Raptors. This makes Junk decks a possible direction to consider, but it will generally mean you just need to be prepared for this synergy and have a plan to counter it. Luke Cage, Rogue, or even just Destroy decks can all be more valuable during the hot location.
Cards like Ka-Zar, Blue Marvel, and Patriot can all squeeze extra value from the Raptors on board. With lower series decks, this can be a surprisingly effective way of using the location without some of the new heavy hitters. As most of the Elsa Bloodstone decks have been rather static in the past week, this location may give you an opportunity to experiment with some packages based around these powerful Ongoing cards and Elsa Bloodstone.

Remember, the Raptors are 1-Cost cards, which are easy to destroy or counter using Killmonger and, to some degree, Elektra. Another major synergy with the Raptors is Carnage! Carnage will become a [2/6] play with no other support other than the Raptors. This combines well with Nova to buff the rest of the board and can clear space early on. Carnage, Nova, and Killmonger could therefore be added to many decks to get some extra value during this Hot Location.
Movement
Elsa Bloodstone and the Move package benefit from the location more than the Hit Monkey decks. The fewer spots there are to play in lowers the ceiling for Hit Monkey, and it allows you to easily buff your Move cards and redistribute your power wherever it is needed in order to set up for the Alioth.
Zoo
Using Patriot here allows you to buff the Squirrels and the Raptors after easily filling the board to activate your Dazzler and Mojo. You maximize the value of your Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel while getting lots of buffs from the Elsa Bloodstone effect.
Destroy
Deadpool decks can use the location to buff their destroy effects and at the same time set up Deadpool for later plays (like alongside Taskmaster). This makes the whole Destroy deck more effective, especially because it is also a deck that can use Killmonger to counter the opponent’s plays. All of this combines to make a great option for the hot location.
Junk
This deck combines the power of Man-Thing and Darkhawk. You want to try to use the Raptors to your advantage to help you lock out an early lane, and then you can win the other lane with Darkhawk. Man-Thing can also be used as the final power needed to win the Savage Land if you can get Luke Cage down (and you also have great protection via Luke Cage against opposing attempts to use Man-Thing during the weekend).
Series 2 and below (pre-CL 474)
Series 2 players should look towards a more classic Ka-Zar deck. These kinds of decks will allow you to buff the Raptors, and you can also them to maximize your Wolfsbane. The new Squirrel Girl synergizes well with Storm (if you have her) as a way to lock out one lane and still get power in later.
