I’m Glazer of Snap Judgments, and I’ll be your guide through everything you need to know to keep up with this game we all love.

Warning – this is one extremely positive article this week!

PC Launch – Love It

I love Marvel Snap. I spend more time on this game than I have on just about any other hobby in my life. A PC Launch success means that the game is likely to live long and healthy life, which means I can play more and talk to you all about it more! That’s a beautiful thing, at least in my book.

Second Dinner Supports the Community! – Love It

  • Twitch Drops are awesome for views on Twitch, yes, but they also encourage people to enjoy the aesthetics of the game with great new variants. It encourages people to spend time on the game, which means positive word of mouth and more playing. So far four cards have received variants from Twitch Drops.
  • Content Creator Giveaway is each creator in the Content Creator Program being given ten Loki For All Time Season Passes to give to their community. That’s awesome! It encourages more people to try new cards, and, well, free stuff only drives engagement!
  • Daily Log-In Rewards should be a thing every single Season! The mid-season grind gets rough, and a reward for going through that grind really helps people play. Seeing everyone share their variants was a genuine pleasure.
  • Codes for Free Credits are awesome. They’re a little treasure hunt for the community!

New OTA – Love It

  • Doctor Doom‘s DoomBots are back to five power. That nerf was a mistake, and it’s great to see it go back. I’m not sure how meta the card is right now, but it opens things up for experimentation, which is always a plus.
  • Rockslide is now a [3/3]. This means Zabu on curve is way less important, so this is, in some ways, a buff. Rockslide is extremely disruptive, and it’s now more consistent. I think this is a buff.
  • Legion is nerfed to a [5/7], which is probably right since he’s one of the most powerful cards in the game. This makes him worse, but not significantly so.
  • Captain Marvel goes to a [4/4]. I think this hurts her a lot more, as her real power is sneaking out close locations. Those are the situations where one power really matters.
  • Lady Deathstrike becomes a [5/4]. I think this is huge, as you’re almost always playing her in decks that buff her further. She may be the answer to the BroodMe meta.

Here’s den’s article on the OTA:

And here’s my video with 15 post-OTA decks:

New Card Release: X-23 – Love It

X-23 has finally opened Destroy up to the meta. The ability to play Deadpool with Knull at the end of the game, or play Knull followed by Arnim Zola without worrying about Magik, is great. We also have a ton of new Discard lists with Colleen Wing and Silver Samurai. X-23 did exactly what was advertised.

Here’s some decks from the genius SafetyBlade:

New Card Release: Silver Samurai – Love It

I’m in love with this card – I think it’s the best of the month. It makes Daken and X-23 super consistent in a variety of shells. Wong and Silver Samurai can discard an opponent’s entire game plan. Silver Samurai can help make a powerful Hela deck. He can go in a Good Stuff list and add extra power in addition to everything I said before. I just love this card!

Here, have some decks.

SnapCon This Weekend – Love It!

Marvel Snap had its first in-person convention organized by Felicity and her team. The whole thing was streamed, including panels about the game, content creation, and a major tournament. I was away with my family in London for my birthday (and had an absolute blast), and I’m STILL devastated I missed it. By all accounts, it was a must-attend event, so I’ll be sure not to miss it again next year!

RoccoSocko Wins SnapCon – Love It

2x Series 5 Ultra Rare – Collection Level 486+ (Pool 5)

It was completely wild to me that this won the tournament. The win rate of this deck is only 50% – not usually the kind of deck that takes down a stacked field, including our friend W in the finals. So I went to RoccoSocko’s stream and watched him play. Much like Lamby and W, it’s the player as much as the deck that contributes to success. This was high-level, expert play, and we at SnapZone would like to congratulate RoccoSocko on the win!

Torikun Wins ER Marvel Snap Assemble Tournament – Love It!

Torikun has long been one of the best and least heralded Snap players. Despite previous tournament wins and top placements, he’s relatively unknown compared to Lamby and Braude. Well, now that he won the biggest and most expensive Snap tournament ever, I hope that changes. He’s a stellar player who deserves more recognition.

Plus, this tournament, at this price point, flying players AND casters out to Hong Kong – it was huge for the game. Everything is, as always, streamed and worth watching. Marvel Snap looks to have a bright future!

For those curious, Tori (mostly) played Lamby’s Silky Smoove and a She-Hulk/Hulk Evolutionary build.
