Working as a Team to Better Build and Play Marvel Snap Decks

Working with a teammate can be a great asset to work on communication and perspectives. In this session, we hold a team tournament to see how they fare in our challenge, based on the current archetypes of the metagame.

Card games are always considered a solo type of games, while it is quite the opposite in reality. Indeed, very few players manage to get consistent results without a strong practice group around them, helping with all areas of the games.

When discussing with other people, you not only have to put your thoughts into words, and structure them for others to be able to follow your ideas. You also have to consider other people’s perspective about the game, which opens a whole world of new possibility. Through their experience, another player gives you access to a ton more information than if you used that time to play the game on your own.

There is a downside to this, however: The need to communicate and adapt to the other person. Particularly when a timer is pressing you to make a choice during a turn, it can be difficult to quickly share your view and understand your partner’s one too. Then, we need to organize, give each person a role, trust each other when one says “This is the right play”.

Especially in a game like Marvel Snap, based on constant changes. The ability to stay open-minded, constantly working towards understanding a situation we often don’t have enough time to fully comprehend, is absolutely clutch.

This was the goal of this mini tournament inside the coaching crew. Who’s going to be able to communicate, and work as a team, while others might get caught in useless details, too busy trying to impose their view, or not managing to communicate efficiently enough.
