Since the OTA Card Balance Update, the metagame has been mostly about three archetypes: Discard, Destroy and Thanos. Together, the trio has created a very difficult environment to solve, as they don’t really answer to the same threats.
Discard can be annoyed Enchantress as it stops Morbius, and Lady Deathstrike gained a bit of momentum in the Destroy deck to handle Dracula. Yet, neither card really helps against Thanos, while there is only one target in both Discard and Destroy.
Same for Shang-Chi, which helps against Cull Obsidian, but doesn’t really find a target against Discard, while Destroy can play around it fairly easily. Mobius M. Mobius appears to be a card worth running against all decks, as it impacts Swarm, Death, or Mockingbird. Yet, not every deck can afford to run it, and the card doesn’t contribute when it comes to developing a lot of points, another requirement against those decks.
In this session, the coaching crew tries to see if they can come up with decks that would make sense in the current environment, and give them a try ahead of the Infinity Conquest league on Wednesday.
