The Featured Location for the next 24 hours is White Hot Room: First to fill this gets +3 Max Energy. This is a brand new Featured Location added to Marvel Snap for the July 2023 season, Rise of the Phoenix. For 24 hours starting July 12, 2023 at 3 AM GMT, it will have a 50% chance of showing up in ranked games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! Strategy and General Tips

This location gives one player an extra +3 energy, every turn after activated, for the rest of the game. The downside is like other locations that you chase early, we need ways to put more power in later in order to take advantage of the location, and not be restricted in where we need to win. Unlike locations such as The Raft however, where the benefit is a card any deck can play, the extra energy may not help all decks. Many decks are built to be efficient, and abusing the extra energy may be difficult.

The first direction appears clear though. Destroy can not only chase the location early and get the benefit, the decks can be built with plenty of cards which can combine in later turns to for even more power. Knull, Nimrod and Arnim Zola can fill the top end of these decks and give you plenty to do on later turns. We can even combine with Thanos for even more things to do on later turns.

Another deck which is not as obvious is the Nick Fury decks. If we build this with Kitty Pryde in particular we can fill the location and fill our hand with cards to use with the extra energy. Combining this with The Collector and potentially Beast gives us more ways to use the location’s energy later on in the game.

The new Jean Grey could also be huge (especially due to the current bugs where her ability cannot be stopped by anything), played on another location in time she may stop opponents filling the location. We could also use Brood to fill the location and Silver Surfer style decks may be able to compete.

Destroy both with and without Thanos should be able to abuse this location consistently. So here are two directions to try. The plan is the same in theory. Play into the location as soon as possible, Destroy with Carnage, Deathlok or Venom, preferably by turn 3. Then transition to the powerful late game destroy combinations in your deck.

This deck aims to use Nick Fury as a way to fill you hand with stuff to do and buff The Collector and Devil Dinosaur. What other ways can we use the extra energy. Bounce our early game and replay it later to buff The Collector some more.

Finally, Jean Grey! This Silver Surfer deck should be able to fill the location and use the extra energy to play more 3 drops before Silver Surfer. No Sera for the location as we are hoping to use the location to ramp out an additional 3 drop or two and our primary gameplan is control. We want to limit everything our opponent wants to do, have all the energy to ourselves, then buff everything with Silver Surfer.

Carnage helps us fill the location whilst having room for later. Moon Girl can then follow up giving us extra cards to use with the extra energy later, whilst setting up for double Devil Dinosaur turns to finish the game.
