The year 2024 starts off quite unusually for the Medal Shop. Let’s figure out what’s the matter and how this time the Medal Shop has gotten a bit better (presumably) than in previous months.
You have four weeks until the end of the season to earn enough Medals for the rewards. Make sure to spend them all on the Medal Shop before the season ends! If you have leftover Medals at the end of the season, each Medal will be worth 0.15 Boosters for a random card. For example: 100 Medals will convert to 15 Boosters.
Season Start: January 2, 2024 at 11 AM Pacific Time

Different Strategies In January 2024
Strategy | Medals | % diff relative to the cheapest |
---|---|---|
Cheapest | 2,695 | |
Optimal | 4,170 | +54.73% |
Premium | 6,345 | +135.44% |
A few different strategies were chosen for the chart, and each corresponds to the thee major types of players.
The strategy of the cheapest purchases is, as expected, based on the fact that you don’t like the Conquest mode and want to get the reward as soon as possible. Also, if possible, we chose as many different awards as possible, as long as the price stayed the same.
The optimal strategy is related to getting the maximum progress value when choosing nine items to buy. We also select variants and other items, the purchase of which will allow you to make the final cost lower. It’s supposed to be the most balanced strategy for a player who wants to get the most important and necessary items from the Medal Shop.
The premium strategy is based on the fact that a player wants all the resources and cosmetics that are only sold in the Medal Shop. This is the most expensive strategy that will require you to play a lot of games in Conquest.
For all strategies, it’s taken into account that when you buy a ticket, you get Medals back when you use it. So, for example, if you buy a ticket to the Gold Tier for 300 Medals and use it, you get 75 Medals just for that. This ultimately makes the cost of this purchase equal to 225 Medals.
What’s Changed
Season | Cheapest Strategy | Optimal Strategy | Premium Strategy |
---|---|---|---|
July 2023 (5 week) | 4,395 | 6,020 | 8,895 |
August 2023 (4 week) | 3,370 | 4,270 | 6,070 |
September 2023 (4 week) | 3,770 | 4,320 | 6,070 |
October 2023 (5 week) | 3,195 | 4,545 | 7,050 |
November 2023 (4 week) | 2,870 | 3,670 | 5,845 |
December 2023 (4 week) | 2,870 | 3,670 | 5,845 |
January 2024 (5 week) | 2,695 | 4,170 | 6,345 |
If we compare the current five-week season with the last season of similar length in October, it turns out all strategies in January have become cheaper: the Cheapest Strategy by 500 Medals, the Optimal by 375 Medals, and the Premium Strategy by 705 Medals.
Meanwhile, in October, you could get up to 1,000 Credits, 200 Gold, and two mystery variants from the shop. In the January season, however, you could get up to 400 Credits, 500 Gold, and one mystery variant along with one premium mystery variant. Unfortunately, the added 300 Gold does not compensate for the loss of 600 Credits, as 300 Gold is equivalent to 375 Credits at the standard conversion rate.
However, if you compare the January season with the December season, in that case, we see a net difference of 300 Gold.
This leads to a second conclusion – Second Dinner tried to compensate for the quantity with quality. The inability to obtain Pixels from one of the options and receiving universally good Gold may be considered by many as a worthy replacement for the difference of 225 Credits.
If we assume that the added 300 Gold will be spent in the best possible way, that is, it will be used to purchase one of the expensive bundles for approximately 7,000 Gold, which has a Progress Value of 133%, it turns out that 300 Gold is equivalent to 500 Credits, which already makes the replacement of Credits with Gold more advantageous by 275 Credits.
Ultimately, I believe this is a positive change, and if we see more valuable currencies like Gold and Collector’s Tokens here and fewer boosters, and maybe Credits, then the Ticket Shop will only get better from this.
Wishing you great snaps and good luck!
