Warrior Falls Featured Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks

This week's Marvel Snap Featured Location is Warrior Falls. Here's our proposed strategy, with the best cards and decks that you can try (including for Pool 1 and Pool 2 players) for the next 48 hours!

This week’s Marvel Snap Featured Location is Warrior Falls: After each turn, cards here FIGHT! Destroy the weakest one(s). This is a brand new location that is now added to the Location pool and will show up 40% more frequently in games during the feature period, for the next 48 hours.

This Location was inadvertently released when the Warriors of Wakanda season started, so players would’ve had a good chance to see how this unique Location works. Now at an increased appearance rate, let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks are!

What is Warrior Falls?

On Tripadvisor it is rated 4.8/5 as a must see when visiting Wakanda! The beauty of the cascading waters from the falls leave those who see it in awe. It is also the location of Killmonger‘s greatest victory and his ultimate demise (and possibly the best line the MCU has ever produced frankly).

Since this is an unique Location with its own mechanic, here is some clarification on how Warrior Falls works:

  • Two or more cards on the Location triggers the Fight and the ones with the weakest Power are Destroyed at the end of the turn.
  • This ability can also trigger relevant Destroy ability mechanics.
  • Cards with tied lowest Power can all be Destroyed.
  • Your cards can Fight each other if your opponent does not have cards in this Location.

Strategy

Decks which can play cards with power above their usual rate and get value by destroying opposing cards. This leads to looking towards above rate curve cards such as negative effect cards and Discards. These units will push more power than your opponent’s cards on curve and hopefully pick off their power. On the final turns, high power cards may be able to be dropped on the Warrior Falls and pick off opposing power. For example, The Infinaut could swing a location adding 20 power whilst removing something from your opponent.

This location seems poor for the new card Black Panther himself. He is out scaled at a baseline and it might be too late before re-triggers happen. Also Ka-Zar Zoo decks will not play well into the location early. This shouldn’t mean these decks are unplayable but it will limit how you can engage with these decks. Some changes can be made to classic Zoo style decks to play into the location somewhat but it runs a risk of counter play.

Cards and Deck Ideas

Zero

Zero is an above rate 1-Cost which enables above rate cards at all energy levels along the curve. On 1 it will out scale most other 1 drops if played on Warrior Falls, but it will work best enabling cards such as Typhoid Mary to be played in this location.

This is a heavy build around version of the deck. Goal is to try and take early lead with Lizard, Angela, Zero and Sunspot. Use Typhoid Mary or Red Skull to lockdown the Falls. Remember the falls destroys the weakest card. If Blade is the lowest it will protect your bigger cards.

Zero can also be used for Blade, Maximus and Lizard to get the early lead. Dracula is there for Discarding Red Skull or Mary on the final turn. To make it more consistent there is a lot of 1 drops. So you can Dracula  + 2 1 drops to isolate Red Skull or Typhoid Mary for the Discard.

This deck can run Enchantress proactively which has the added benefit of disrupting opposing Devil Dinosaurs and Wongs.

This deck has a lot of large units which can go into the location and destroy most opposing cards. The negative effects are then turned off later via Enchantress, Zero and Venom.

But if a theme here I know but this deck again uses Enchantress proactively and this could be vital in combating some of the other clear strategies for this location.

This deck can make huge minions which out scale your opponent, just make sure if you commit to the Falls with one large unit, it is big enough.

Additionally, Bucky Barnes and Nova can be dropped to protect your big units as they will often be the lowest power and have large upside potential.

Hela

The Discard cards have higher than normal values early and the Hela combo then goes off and the resummoned minions have high power also winning out on the location. If you want more random in your life, Hela may be slightly better going into this location.

Recommending Sandman versions to limit the late game of your opponent. Leader may also be huge to match the opponent on Turn 6 as a backup win condition.

There could be room to experiment with this archetype also with this location. Some other options to consider are Ebony Maw and Colleen Wing (Maw can be played confidently onto Falls early or discarded later) and Ghost Rider and Odin (For hail Mary resummons on Hela or Leader).

Devil Dinosaur & Black Panther

Considering it’s the month of Wakanda, still want to feature Black Panther, even though logic says it’s not actually the best strategy for the location. Wong will be exposed if left on Falls on 4 for example. This strategy, merging it with Devil Dinosaur may prove ok. Early Angela and Handsize gameplan, followed by turn 4 transition to Wong or Moon Girl plans can win games every day and is worth considering.

Consider this one a starting point for thinking about Black Panther for the next 48 hours.

Devil Dinosaur is also huge – end of strategy section.

The most powerful part of Agatha is she is DRAWN from your deck. Alongside Jubilee this can result in 7 turns reaching the bottom of your deck – EVERYTIME. Having said all of this, it’s still random. You need Wave or Lady Sif on 3 to get rid of Agatha. Fortunately, this deck has limited other plays so it will auto pilot better than it looks. This is the ultimate Agatha take the wheel deck though and strictly for FUN ONLY!

Same as the Pool 1 but with a few key tech ideas.

Shang-Chi to counter opponents attempt to do the same thing. Armor to defend your Sunspot from pesky Killmongers (or just invalidate the location). Dropped the 6-drops in favour of playing White Queen to get your opponent’s biggest card to end your curve also.

Storm + Jessica Jones is just good.

Good luck out there. We hope these starter decks help you entering into the next 48 hours and look forward to seeing what the community comes up with for Warrior Falls! Make sure to leave a comment below, share your ideas on our Deck Builder and discuss with the community on our Discord!
