Great Web Featured Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks

Marvel Snap Featured Location guide for Great Web: After each turn, move one card to the Web for a random player. This location will show up 50% more frequently in games for 24 hours. Here are our proposed strategies with the best cards and decks that you can try (including for Pool 1 and Pool 2 players) for the new meta!

The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Great Web: After each turn, move one card to the Web for a random player. This is a Hot Location for Marvel Snap’s June 2023 season, Spider-Versus that starts on selected Wednesdays and Sundays at 3 AM GMT. For 24 hours, it has a 50% chance of showing up in games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! Let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks are for the new meta!

Strategy and General Tips

This location may end up dividing players more than it seems on the surface. The location picks a random player, then a random card that player has played and moves it to the Great Web. All locations only have four spots, so any card moving into this location can impact your plays.

Additionally, you are guaranteed at least four end of turn states that pull a card from a location to the Great Web. This can have a major impact on decks, especially those that rely on one lane combinations with Wong or Invisible Woman or those that play few high power cards since there is a chance these cards will all end up at the Great Web location.

Also, unless the location is turned off, there is no real way to play around the movement – you will just have to adapt as random cards move from where you placed them.

The decks that can thrive are ones that can be flexible and not be punished by cards moving to the Great Web. Bounce decks play lower cost cards that we can bring back to hand with cards like Beast and Falcon. Movement decks can allow you to pull cards back out if they do land there with cards like Cloak and Ghost-Spider.

Movement decks have the ultimate advantage from the location as many of the cards benefit from multiple movement effects. This gives you the opportunity to use the effect to create extra power with cards like Kraven, Vulture, and Human Torch.

The basic Movement shell has some excellent synergy with this location. Kraven on the location allows for consistent buffs as cards move there each turn. We can also keep Miles Morales active and allow our movement-buff cards to move around. Ghost-Spider and Cloak let us reposition, and Heimdall is a great way to vacate the location at the end (if required).

Beast is included here as a way to pick our cards back up if we need to replay some of them. This slot could be the new Spider-Man 2099, but its effect only activates once and it could be wasted by the location.

This deck features Silver Surfer with several move cards, but it drops Brood in favor of Beast to allow for flexibility with the location. Now that Beast is a 3-Cost, it synergizes with Silver Surfer on the final turn and can even return and reduce Iron Fist and Ghost-Spider for future activations.

Yes, we lose out on the Brood power play, but the high-powered movement cards alongside Maximus and Polaris make up for this while ensuring we don’t get stuck in the mid game.

Rounding out the week is another deck that feels like it has been getting worked on throughout this season: Movement Bounce. Often, the issue with this over other Bounce lists is that fitting all the tools hurts your other bounce tools. So what if we reduce the Movement package to only three cards (e.g. Iron Fist, Human Torch, and Ghost-Spider)?

These are the best Beast targets in the package, and if you miss they are still reduced on the Bounce for the Hit Monkey and Mysterio play lines later in the game. There is slight synergy with the location, but the real reason to run this is the ability to basically ignore the location and play where you want.

In Series 2, we can build this basic Movement deck that uses Multiple Man and Kraven. This allows for a solid way of both playing into the location and taking advantage of it.

Forge is the primary buff card for this deck; Forge into Multiple Man results in a 50/50 chance to move the buffed Multiple Man. Also, Nightcrawler and Vision can be moved after a move effect back to where you need them.

The spice this week is including Nova and Carnage. These two cards can help us clean up our side of the board if the Great Web hurts us by moving Forge or Iron Fist away, and you can also use Cloak to move cards out of the way to activate the Carnage and Nova.
