Mobius M. Mobius and Loki Decks: Weekend Challenge Mission Guide

Our guide for the this week's set of Weekend Challenge Missions featuring Mobius M. Mobius and Loki! Complete the missions efficiently using our decks, or find out how they are performing and decide if you want the card!

During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:

Mission#Reward
Win Matches15300 Credits
Win with Loki starting in your Deck8150 Gold
Win with Mobius M. Mobius starting in your Deck4200 Collector’s Tokens

You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.

The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Mobius M. Mobius.

We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Performance

Mobius M. Mobius Meta Stats

Mobius M. Mobius has done everything expected of the card since its short release window. The mere existence of it has changed what other cards many players consider playable and how the game must be played. Is it worth the investment however, and is the actual performance of the card good enough to make it worthwhile, and if so, how do we get the best value from the card?

Mobius creates a situation where all cards for your opponents become base cost yet yours continue to be impacted by cost reductions. Whilst the card was therefore hailed as the killer of decks like Loki and Sera, it is also simply a good tool for these decks as it allows for your deck to no longer be locked out by Wave. This creates a situation where playing Mobius on turn 2 is simply the best play for the Loki, Sera and Wave decks.

The card is very strong as it completely removes the effectiveness of many strategies that are relied on to win games of Marvel Snap, whilst playing it also protects the harshest outcomes for the decks wanting to reduce cards from Wave. This circular reliance has quickly made this card a must have. Without the card, the decks you can play competitively shrinks. With the card in your deck, the impact is limited and it can feel like you have several ways to go again.

Any deck looking to reduce Death from your opponent is countered by the Mobius, as well as anyone still looking to skip turns to play cards can effectively lose to a single 2-cost play. This has more impact than it may seem as lots of combinations are almost unplayable and become not worth trying to build around.

Decks with cost reduction can still exist as long as they can play Mobius and can also make plays without the reduction. Anything relying on reduction drops or exact combinations relying on reduction are pushed out in general the higher the play rate of this card is. Unfortunately the solution is to play a deck which does not rely on cost reduction at all or play Mobius.

Mobius supports decks which used to be able to beaten by cost reductions on tech cards. Red Skull and Shuri being one of the key examples. This deck does not rely on cost reduction to play significant power and is relatively simple. Playing Mobius in these decks stops the opponent pulling of combinations which beat you consistently as well, but you can also afford to not run the card and have minimal impact from your opponent. Mobius makes the right answer to play the deck which puts the most power out possible without any reductions or other plays and results in a narrowing of the metagame.

So while Mobius is very strong, if you are still somehow on the fence, the change to what can be played and how, is subtle and you may not even need the card to compete. The changes to what others play can allow you to just swap what you play based on this and not actually need to purchase Mobius. However given Mobius can be played in a wide variety of decks and will make the decks stronger or at least more resilient if you want variety in your game, Mobius M. Mobius is a clear must have.

So, how do we use Mobius M. Mobius to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?

Mobius is a great addition to the Loki deck. It does two things here: First, it ensures we cannot be hit with Wave, and second, it defends you from Mobius or other Energy cheating decks. Both of these effects are valuable and make Mobius a core addition to the deck.

This is one of the most straightforward ways to play for Mobius. Great early game cards from the High Evolutionary package are followed up with Mobius and then using Wave on turn 5.

Wave then allows you to play one card for 4 Energy and still have 2 Energy left over whilst locking out your opponent at the same time. This is followed up with 3 excellent 6-cost plays you can use to seal the game and makes it difficult for your opponent as these three options are very different and require different plays to beat.

This deck has a similar philosophy to the High Evolutionary package but you play more to the curve and can be harder to play around. As the final positions of your cards are not fixed, you can be flexible. Additionally, the Move package works great with Wave and therefore great with Mobius. This deck can be harder to access however, than the High Evolutionary decks.

Closing Thoughts

Wins with the new card may seem a tall order some weeks depending what quality of card is released. Hopefully this guide helps you decide first if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, and what you can potentially play to complete the missions quickly!
