Hot Location: Death’s Domain – Best Cards and Decks

This week's Marvel Snap Hot Location is Death's Domain: When you play a card here, destroy it. This location will show up 60% more frequently in games for the next 24 hours. Here are some decks to get you started for Pool 1, 2 & 3 players!

The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Death's Domain: When you play a card here, destroy it. Hot Locations happen every week, starting Saturday at 3 PM GMT. The chosen location has a 60% increased chance of appearing during games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So what do you play?

This effect activates after your On Reveal effects. This means the location can be turned off, and if you play a card which leaves another card behind, you can sneak onto the location.

Cards that go wide have an inherent advantage on this location though. Move decks may seem good but can get stuck if the location spawns in the wrong spot.

In short, if your not playing White Tiger + Odin, you should have a very strong reason. Unfortunately this is a location which creates a very clear strongest deck with a few counters.

Armor and Cosmo are the counter cards to look at if you wanting to deviate. Armor can stop a surprise destroy attempt and give you the lane back to play into. Cosmo played on the Wong lane is GG.

Here are some ‘starter’ decks for the location, for all collection levels, including Pool 1, 2, and 3 players.

Pool 1

Simple game plan here. Play good cards, then on turn 5 play White Tiger. Then hit White Tiger with Odin.

Try to guarantee at least one Tiger hit on the domain by situating your other cards well.

Pool 2

Pool 2 – Deaths Domain
4x Collection Level 1-14
2x Collection Level 18-214 (Pool 1)
3x Collection Level 222-474 (Pool 2)

In Pool 2 the deck gets some key upgrades. Same strategy as Pool 1 though.

Storm can make the game 1 lane. As we get to use Storm, Jessica Jones appears to back her up. The top end remains the same aiming for a 5 into 6. However you have more flexibility for bad draws as you can use Ironheart and Wolfsbane on turn 6 if you miss Odin to push more power into the Stormed lane or Domain.

Pool 3

It could be very limited in Pool 3 for the next 24 hours but will try to lay out several options here to keep the meta as diverse as possible.

Wong

Pool 3 – Deaths Domain
3x Collection Level 1-14
1x Collection Level 18-214 (Pool 1)
2x Collection Level 222-474 (Pool 2)
4x Collection Level 486+ (Pool 3)
1x Series 5 Ultra Rare – Collection Level 486+ (Pool 5)

The first direction is leaning in with Wong and Black Panther. This can be countered but most games you will be able to deviate and use White Tiger and or Doctor Doom to get into Death's Domain.

Keep in mind Storm will consistently make it so that only one location can be played on.

Patriot

Pool 3 – Patriot Deaths
1x Collection Level 1-14
3x Collection Level 18-214 (Pool 1)
6x Collection Level 486+ (Pool 3)
2x Starter Card

Another slightly more niche direction is Ultron Patriot Combo. This deck has the added advantage of being able to fit in Cosmo as a potential counter to Wong. The downside is the full Ultron Combo will push less power onto Domain but if you successfully block Wong it shouldn’t matter.

Death

Baero
5x Collection Level 18-214 (Pool 1)
2x Collection Level 222-474 (Pool 2)
5x Collection Level 486+ (Pool 3)

Standard DeathWave lists should do well. Deadpool may also be good even without buffs but may be a trap. Therefore the recommendation is this Death, Wave and Cosmo surrounded by the usual suspects. Using Domain to consistently get your Death down, then using Wave to limit plays. Cosmo goes down if you can block Wong and given the extra destroy potential Death should hopefully still be playable on 6.

Two honourable mentions to keep in mind;

  1. Spectrum Destroyer can run Armor, Professor X and Cosmo
  2. Sera decks can tech in Cosmo and still perform.
