Collapsed Mine Featured Location Guide: Strategy, Best Cards and Decks
Table of Contents
This week’s Marvel Snap Featured Location is Collapsed Mine: Fill this location with Rocks. Skip a turn to destroy your Rocks. This is a brand new location for Marvel Snap’s Savage Land Season, now added to the Location pool. For the next 48 hours, it will show up 40% more frequently in games during this feature period. Let’s find out what the best strategies, cards, and decks are!

What is Collapsed Mine?

Next to our left is this Collapsed Mine. Somewhere behind these rocks is a glorious location where we can fit 4 of you, we just have to wait a moment so the charges can clear the way.
Strategy
The lane will be entirely filled. There is no protecting the Rocks to try and take advantage of them later. We cannot use location control effects to stop this location from happening to us. We have two options, skip a turn or Killmonger. There is no other options here so we need to look at decks which can make use of one or both these options.
Destroy comes back to the front of the queue with this location featured. The deck makes great use of Killmonger anyway and an skip turns in the early to mid-game if it has too. After skipping the turn Death will instantly cost 4 less for your side and if your opponent does the same it costs 1 without any effort. So we can consider decks with Moon Girl also to copy our likely to be 1-Cost Death.
So we could add Death and Killmonger to any deck can fit them and have a solid location deck for this one.

Option 2 is skipping turns and currently 3 cards benefit from this strategy, Sunspot, The Infinaut and She-Hulk. A deck built around these does not generally want Killmonger but with Armor we can potentially still try this strategy with the insurance of Killmonger. This strategy may also be more immune to Leech and Leader which may see an uptick in play with Destroy being clearly the number 1 strategy.
Cards and Deck Ideas
The best versions of these lists are starting to be built with Series 4 and 5 cards. Where they are not the required for the strategy I will include a note on what cards to swap in.
Destroy
This deck builds itself and the shell is the Destroy list we all know and love. One small but significant change is adding in Moon Girl as we are expecting Death to be 0 cost always, even without Wave. So we may as well try and copy her and play two 12 power cards. We could also try to fit She-Hulk in this build if we have the card but this initial build remains Series 3 only.
Leech & Leader

Leader and Leech could have a field day if others are trying to do Destroy decks again. Which is why we have to feature a Leech/Leader deck once again. This time we include Moon Girl and Death of our own. The idea is if we skip the turn to destroy the rocks we get the reduction. We can also try to White Queen to get more Deaths and Moon Girl for even more Death’s.
On turn 5 we Leech and then we finish with Aero and Leader and play multiple 12 cost cards. This list goes back to Thor as we can afford to leave the Rocks up and make our opponent do the work. However if you want to have more control over when the Rocks are destroyed, swapping him out for Killmonger will help.
She-Hulk
She-Hulk, Sunspot and The Infinaut can all benefit from skipping a turn to get the Rocks destroyed. So why not build a deck with the actual goal being skip the turn to either reduce She-Hulk, buff Sunspot or allow The Infinaut to be played? A consistent shell for this is Zabu with Jubilee and friends. In addition we can use Lady Sif and Ghost Rider as another way to cheat our big cards out if we don’t get the locations we want, and so on.
Absorbing Man could be added to this deck alongside Spider-Man instead of Lady Sif and Ghost Rider if thats how you roll.
What You Should Play
Destroy unfortunately is the way to go and when it is time for the mirror, bring back the Leech and Leader plays.
Series 1
Series 1 has very little ways to interact with this location outside of skipping a turn. One deck which can skip a turn and still flood enough resources by the end of the game is KaZoo. We will want to play towards playing multiple cards on turn 6, so do not plan on playing America Chavez on 6.
Series 2
The strongest Series 2 deck should still do well into this location as we can use Killmonger to save space. One adjustment which may seem counter to attempt is Cosmo. Cosmo may be able to limit your opponent’s lanes they can use to play Killmonger to clear the Collapsed Mine location and allow you some further control about how the game unfolds.
Final Turn
Remember at the time of writing, these starter decks are untested. These are theorycraft ideas to get you going and looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for Collapsed Mine. something I think people are sleeping on: Scarlet Witch or Storm. Skip your turn, then, if they haven’t, change the location. This forces them to either deal with or abandon those rocks
