Comet Cruisin’ Bundle Guide – Details and Analysis

Buyer's guide to the Comet Cruisin' Marvel Snap Bundle with details and analysis. How good is it in comparison to other bundles?

After several months of poor bundles, I’ll say cautiously, but things are starting to look up! Following bundles with 96, 100 or 107 percent Progress Value, we’ve received a bundle with one of the best values like in the good old days – 132%! Let’s analyze just how good it actually is.

Guide

Let’s first break down the bundle into its components. 3,000 Collector’s Tokens, when purchasing regular (non-experimental) Token Tuesdays, cost 4,200 Gold. If we calculate based on the last Token Tuesday, that would be 3,750 Gold. Meanwhile, 3,000 Credits are valued at 2400 Gold. Therefore, the contents of this bundle are valued at 6,600 Gold with standard calculations and at 6,150 Gold in the best-token-rate scenario.

And since we haven’t received any official confirmations regarding the increased value of Token Tuesdays, and generally no communication about the bundles – until all bundles in the season offer a ratio higher than the standard 0.714 Tokens per Gold – all calculations here will be conducted according to this familiar ratio of 0.714. In this case, the Progress Value of the Comet Cruisin’ bundle equals 132.4% or 32.4% additional resource value!

If we look at the last three months with bundles of poor value, we will immediately see that this bundle definitely surpasses them all!

Even if we dare to open up all the bundles for gold and compare it with them, Comet Cruisin’ also stands tall among the best bundles we’ve seen! Considering that such value used to be seen in bundles priced at 7,000 to 7,500 Gold, getting such a bundle for 5,000 would have been a stroke of luck and a good purchase on average even then.

In its price category, the bundle also quite predictably shows itself very confidently, occupying one of the top spots.

If we consider the resources separately, I think it won’t be a surprise to say that purchasing Collector’s Tokens with Token Tuesdays or buying Credits in the shop for Gold is more beneficial if you only need one resource.

The plus of this bundle is that it’s overall cost-effective in terms of Progress Value. Even if you only want Tokens – the Credits from this bundle will still be useful since Spotlight Caches are the main system for obtaining new cards, even if you buy some cards manually. However, for those who only want Credits and do not need Tokens, this bundle has nothing to offer, most likely if you have a lot of Tokens – sadly you should refrain from buying the bundle.

If we compare it with other non-recurring bundles in terms of Tokens for Gold and Credits for Gold, it significantly underperforms many bundles in the Credits for Gold ratio, but ranks quite high in Tokens for Gold. This is largely due to the fact that there are usually more Credits than Tokens in bundles, whereas here the ratio is 50 to 50 with a large amount of both resources.

And the last chart I want to show today, which I rarely pull out of the closet, is a comparison chart with all the bundles for Gold that have ever been released, in terms of new Series 5 cards for every 700 Gold. I remind you that this is one of the harshest indicators, which testifies to how profitable a bundle is for those who have almost all the cards in the game, and therefore their progress is significantly slowed down.

In this case, the bundle shares the honorable third place with the Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice bundle, trailing only behind the Artist Showcase: Inkpulp and High Stakes bundles. So yes, for every Gold you spend, you’ll get the maximum long-term collection Progress Value, making it an excellent investment of Gold.

But what about the variant? Captain Marvel is a Series 3 card, so newcomers who don’t have this card will be able to use Captain Marvel immediately as a variant.

And the first issue here is the 5,000 Gold required to purchase the bundle, which will likely be an insurmountable sum for newcomers. The second problem is with the card itself.

You see, Captain Marvel has hardly ever been a player throughout her history; there was a time when she was noticeable and strong in Zabu decks, but that time has long passed. Quite recently, Captain Marvel has started to perform well in some Move deck builds (Silky Smooth).

But currently, the focus in move decks is shifting to other cards, and Captain Marvel is gradually losing her standing, thereby builds without her are usually considered stronger and more meta-relevant. Nevertheless, the card isn’t weak and can perform well in the right deck. And if you like the variant, then all these words are not an argument at all, and it’s better to listen to your heart’s call.

Conclusion

Thus, I consider it fair to give the bundle 4.5 stars, although I really want to give it 5, especially after such a long break between good bundles.

This rating is partly due to the fact that, despite the rather high price, the variant is not for the most playable card in the current meta, which is not very good for newcomers. And partly it’s because splitting resources in half is not the best strategy for those who want only one thing (although as I said – for lovers of Collector’s Tokens, Credits will not be superfluous). The situation when you urgently need a lot of Collector’s Tokens or Spotlight Keys is more common than when you are slightly short of both. But even so, this rating of 4.5 is closer to 5 than ever before.
