During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:
Mission | # | Reward |
---|---|---|
Discard Cards | 30 | 200 Credits |
Win with Elsa Bloodstone starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |
Win with Black Knight starting in your Deck | 4 | 200 Collector’s Tokens |
You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.
The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Elsa Bloodstone and Black Knight.
We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Performance

Black Knight is the first Series 5 card of the Bloodstone Season. He allows for potential high rolls which involve playing 4 energy Ebony Blade for 20 power! Is he good enough to be a staple in Discard decks going forward? Is he part of an unique deck and not just traditional Discard decks? Met with a mixed reception, let’s takes a look at how the card is performing in practice and if it is worthwhile.

Black Knight at its core, is a combination card. It does not do anything if you don’t play the card and then play a Discard card and hit something worthwhile. What this creates is a situation were we need the deck to have not only early Discard cards, but it also needs to have enough big drops to make playing Black Knight worthwhile. This results in a very different feeling deck as it can be anti-synergistic with strong Discard build-arounds like Hela and Swarm.

The synergy strongly relies on cards like Blade and Lady Sif to be active on specific turns so that you can play the Ebony Blade on time. The combinations can be improved with Zabu bringing the cost of the Ebony Blade down to 3 Energy. However, in practice getting the stars to align consistently is difficult but the decks built around the card can still be okay without activating the card.

Shadow King and Shang-Chi can be considered direct counters, the real weakness is building the discard decks though without some of the best early tempo plays. Cards like Swarm are hard to play in decks with Black Knight and cards like Hela can struggle to include Black Knight and play the Ebony Blade.
Over time, builds which truly abuse the Ebony Blade may emerge but currently the awkward requirements to get the card to have an impact and draw requirements result in a card which is awkward to use.
So, how do we use Black Knight to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?
Black Knight
The most successful direction for Black Knight early on has been tempo builds which have some Discard effects and are aiming to get the Ebony Blade as the power push. This is achieved by balancing high power cards with early tempo cards with cards which allow you to cheat out the big power in other ways like Jubilee and Ghost Rider.
Professor X
One underutilized synergy with Ghost Rider is Professor X and this deck leans more into this combination whilst having the potential Ebony Blade high roll. The Black Knight plays a secondary role here but can be strong if you hit the cards on time to play Ebony Blade on 4. You can then follow this with Professor X locking out one 1 lane whilst potentially throwing priority for the tech cards to win the second lane.
Elsa Bloodstone
Elsa Bloodstone can be packaged with the Movement cards to form the cards you want to play in the deck. Then we can combine this with the Black Knight package as a way to cheat out the big power cards.
As we are including Vision, this version has The Infinaut and Giganto as the 6 drops but this could be experimented with. The goal is to Dracula on 4, Vision on 5, and the play America Chavez on 6, leaving one more big drop in your hand for Dracula.
Closing Thoughts
Wins with the new card may seem a tall order some weeks depending what quality of card is released. Hopefully this guide helps you decide first if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, and what you can potentially play to complete the missions quickly!
