Lady Deathstrike, Daken and Mister Negative Decks: Weekend Challenge Mission Guide

Our guide for the this week's set of Weekend Challenge Missions featuring Lady Deathstrike and Daken! Complete the missions efficiently using our decks, or find out how they are performing and decide if you want the card!

During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:

Mission#Reward
Win with Mister Negative starting in your deck10200 Credits
Win with Daken starting in your Deck15150 Gold
Win with Lady Deathstrike starting in your Deck4300 Collector’s Tokens

You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.

The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Daken, Lady Deathstrike or Mister Negative.

We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Performance

Lady Deathstrike Meta Stats

Lady Deathstrike was always going to be hit or miss. Her effect in theory is very strong, and destroying cards on your opponents side of the board can make a big difference in games. Alongside the ability to support the Destroy effects on your side of the board, the potential was high but the risk of the card flopping was also high due to her energy cost. There were dreams of big game ending combinations as well as hopes of playing her on curve for value.

So how has she gone over the week? Is there still hope for things to change? Let’s take a deeper look at her performance and how to get the most out of this card, as there is more to the results for this one than meets the eye.

Two types of decks have been able to use Lady Deathstrike to produce results which would be worth considering her continued inclusion: Destroy decks and Mister Negative decks. The synergy here is clear, if you activate her on enough cards your often buffing your Knull or Death whilst potentially countering the opponent’s gameplan.

This indicates successful ways of using this card are not flashy – play her on curve when it makes sense to, or as an option in a Mister Negative deck. It is hard to argue the card is mandatory in either of these strategies due to this but she can provide a point of difference in niche situation which may become more common in a different metagame (such as destroying Dracula or Wong).

The more combo cards you add such as Forge and Absorbing Man the win rate rapidly lowers as the reliability of these combinations is questionable at best. Even with the recent change to Forge, the breakpoints to win a lane with her effect are high.

Lady Deathstrike‘s global results are way below average and you would look at these and assume the card holds no value. However when we dive deeper there is an issue here we haven’t seen in sometime related to the prevalence of attempting over the top ways to play the card over the basic ways to play the card. This happens often with Marvel Snap as the release schedule encourages a requirement for the card to be strong independently or part of some combination which is way above average.

Overall, we can evaluate Lady Deathstrike as an average piece of Destroy decks and niche counter card you could run in decks which lose hard to certain situations such as Dracula, Wong or Iron Man. However, she doesn’t elevate any of the decks she has found a home in enough to be considered a core requirement. Beware the combo decks as they can be flashy but are very fragile ways to play the card.

So, how do we use Lady Deathstrike and Daken to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?

The most successful way to play both cards is similar to last month, combining both cards within the Thanos Destroy effect. One addition we make due to Lady Deathstrike is Professor X. The goal here is to try and isolate a lane and then we can potentially use Lady Deathstrike to clear out another lane, setting up Death for your final turn.

Wave and Shang-Chi are underplayed in this archetype as you can often lock out the game with Wave and out power the opponent on 6 still with Thanos or Death.

The Forge buff allows us to explore the opportunity to make a Daken buff focused deck. We support the package with Mister Sinister and Brood over destroy buff cards as we can use Absorbing Man and Iron Lad as ways to potentially multiply these effects. The new Forge just adds another pay off and synergizes with Daken.

With so many 3 drops our favorite 3 drop reappears – Silver Surfer as the final piece of the puzzle. Just remember to consider your odds of Destroy effects when you play Iron Lad!

Mister Negative is another way of utilising Lady Deathstrike without having to rely on clunky combinations. The card is significantly improved when inverted and this makes fitting her into turns with Knull or Arnim Zola much more satisfying.

This is a fun way to attack the missions and include the new card!

Closing Thoughts

Wins with the new card may seem a tall order some weeks depending what quality of card is released. Hopefully this guide helps you decide first if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, and what you can potentially play to complete the missions quickly!
