In the current Marvel Snap metagame, the two cards one should think when we discuss the Discard synergy is Hela and Black Knight, both pushing their own archetypes, Hela Lockjaw and Good Cards Black Knight respectively. However, before these two became popular, the original discard archetype was Discard Dracula.
Unfortunately for that deck, it was very predictable, with Morbius and Dracula telling our opponent where the bigger chunk of our points is. Also, it struggled to reach unplayable locations, with only a Wolverine discard able to help in that regard. Lastly, the deck could also be stopped with several disruptive cards, such as Leech, Cosmo, or Spider-Ham hitting Apocalypse or Dracula.
Some of these problems will remain, as most proactive decks are inherently weak to their counter card in the game. However, the time when the opponent knows where our points will be, or the inability to reach certain locations might finally be over, courtesy of Miek.

Series 4 cards can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop initially as a Weekly Spotlight card, or opened as one of the featured cards in the Spotlight Caches that are found every 120 Levels on the Collection Level Track after Collection Level 500 (until the next new card releases the following week).
Strengths and Weaknesses
Let’s not beat around the bush too much, Miek is clearly a Discard Dracula kind of card. One you want to play on the first turn of the game and just watch grow and move as the game progresses.
Ideally, we should be able to grow Miek to a seven to ten power card fairly routinely, as long as we find
Then, if we get to play other discard abilities, such as Colleen Wing, Lady Sif early in the match, or Hellcow later on, we should be able to shoot for ten power. In this ideal scenario, Miek is arguably the highest potential for a 1-cost in the game, as you can just keep playing your deck to grow it.

Indeed, the new 1-cost will grow its power based on how cards you threw out of your hand during the turn, meaning you need cards in hand. In that regard, you want a deck with Swarm and Apocalypse, both making sure you will never run out of discard targets.

Already, you can see most of the Discard Dracula deck mentioned in the card we discussed, with only Morbius and Dracula missing, but both would just join Miek as cards benefiting from the deck’s core synergy.
With that in mind, Miek‘s strengths and weaknesses are fairly simple to figure out:
- Strengths: There is a deck waiting for the card, which is fairly simple to play and build.
- Weakness: First, do we have any other deck but Discard Dracula to play Miek in? Second, even if Discard Dracula is guaranteed to be a deck where Miek will make sense and contribute, are we sure this new card will be enough to bring the deck to be a solid deck in the current metagame?
My current guess is the deck will absolutely be stronger than it currently is. However, I doubt it will rise to become a metagame powerhouse. This is probably Miek‘s biggest weakness, the card isn’t versatile when it comes to deckbuilding.
Even if it were to be very strong, Killmonger would probably start gaining popularity to take care of it. We can’t use Armor to protect Miek as it moves, so we would have to run Caiera in Discard Dracula, and that doesn’t really make sense.
The Verdict
Miek seems to be everything Discard Dracula has been waiting for in a card, and represent a great plug and play 1-cost for the deck. Unfortunately, this is also a double-edged sword, as Miek could very well be completely useless if it doesn’t push Discard Dracula to come back as a strong deck.
Then, I would definitely recommend spending the 3,000 Collector’s Tokens if you enjoy that particular deck, but would refrain from using spotlight keys unless you also need another card from the upcoming week. If you don’t enjoy Discard Dracula, then, It is difficult to imagine how you will get any value from Miek.

It is important to note, however, discard will receive many good cards next season, when Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight will join Marvel Snap. Considering Miek is a Series 4 card, you could still get it then with 3,000 Collector’s Tokens, but I would have the tokens ready for that second part of February, as the card will get a second chance at making an impact.
Discard Dracula With Miek
There is another take of Discard Dracula which is doing fairly well, including Black Knight, Ghost Rider and The Infinaut as a package. I doubt we have enough space to fill Miek in this one, and The Infinaut is used to bring more points to the deck, which is what Miek will be used as well. Then, I believe finding some flexibility might be more beneficial, at least if Miek truly helps in the points department.
This is kind of the problem with Discard Dracula, it is hard to get a balanced deck with it, as the discard synergy doesn’t really work with counter cards, which you risk losing with your abilities. Then, flexible cards need to be Discard abilities as well, which only leaves Gambit, Moon Knight and Silver Samurai as potential candidates.
the Collector and Helicarrier can be another way to access flexibility through creating cards upon discarding the 6-cost. Plus, it gives us more cards to throw away for Miek, and two cards won’t annoy the deck’s synergy too much either, especially as the Collector can be played early on in the match for hand management purposes.
Through combining the need to discard enough for Miek to be worth it, which should be at least three cards at least, and the need to have a reliable deck, we quickly see there aren’t so many options. Now, with Miek clearly being a points card for the deck, we should probably invest the flexible slots towards a bit more flexibility, at least for the first trial runs.
Miek won’t change the way the archetype is played, then, there shouldn’t be a need to look for some fancy synergies at first, rather find a reliable way to build Discard Dracula to precisely assess how good is that new 1-cost card.

Closing Words
I don’t really have any doubt about Miek being a good addition to the Discard Dracula archetype. Rather, I’m afraid the archetype still won’t be able to be much than a good, but never great deck. Indeed, without the possibility to play some of the most important counter cards in the game, such as Shang-Chi, Rogue, due to the Discard mechanic often throwing out those cards you wished to keep in hand during the match. Discard Dracula is forced to compete on points with most of its opponents, a difficult task since Blob came out, and Thanos Blob have been ruling the Marvel Snap metagame.
Miek will for sure help in that regard, and I’m not dismissing the card being able to reach eight to ten power when we get
This would still be a good improvement for Discard Dracula, which has disappeared for a while now, considered at best the third archetype for Discard. With Miek, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it compete with Hela and Black Knight, before we get more of a push for the entire synergy in the second half of February.
I know I will go after Miek, simply because Discard Dracula was one of the first archetype I enjoyed playing in Marvel Snap back when I was collecting cards in Pool three. Yet, I don’t have my hopes too high, so I totally expect Miek to be considered average after being tested, as the Discard Dracula won’t tear the metagame with just that card. Still, an improvement is always welcome, and Miek looks like a step in the right direction, which I value worth my 3,000 Collector’s Tokens.
