The current metagame is all about leveraging information about your opponent, while keeping a few tricks up your sleeve. Through controlling the information, you gain the upper hand when it comes to Snaps and Retreats, as your decision to stay, leave, or up the stakes is as educated as possible.

A Metagame All About Information

In Conquest, this is even more important, as the Snaps and Retreats carry a lot of weight from one round to another. Indeed, if you retreat a ladder game because your opponent Snapped, you just move on to the next one. Here, you are left with plenty of questions heading into the next round:

"Why did they Snap?"

"How much information did I reveal and gain during this round?"

"How many rounds can I retreat if they keep Snapping early?"

The environment, combined with the requirements of Conquest, mean flexible, information driven decks are the key to unlocking your next Infinity avatar. However, these archetypes also tend to be the most difficult ones to play, as they demand accounting for a ton of information.
