Bounce

Archetype pages are updated after each Tier List is made. If a page isn’t up-to-date, it means there was nothing worth mentioning in the last report, either because there was no data about the archetype or it did poorly.

Bounce Move was super popular to start this season; the featured list had over 1000 games recorded. Unfortunately, this insane popularity has not translated into great results. The 58.5% Win Rate is good enough to compare it to several decks in the higher tiers, but the Cube Average is rather low compared to decks like Mister Negative and Lockdown, both of which typically don’t shine through their ability to surprise opponents.

If it wasn’t for that very difficult match up against Sera Control and a weakness to Shadow King, Bounce would likely be sitting at the top of this list. But, with “only” a 65% Win Rate, the archetype sits third in the Agent Venom competition. Funnily enough, third in the Agent Venom rankings also equals third in the overall rankings.

How to Play

Bounce relies on playing and replaying cheap cards several times through the use of Beast, and Falcon, which leads to several benefits:

  • The abilities of the cheap cards can be great, such as The HoodNico MinoruIceman, and Forge.
  • Replaying cards serves to buff cards like Werewolf By Night and Bishop since they grow the more cards you play.
  • It gives you an easy way to plan ahead of time because you don’t necessarily depend on your draw to use your energy. You can reuse cards already in play.
  • You are much more flexible with your available space because you can remove cards and play others instead.
  • Bounced cards are usually quite cheap, leading to very flexible turns down the line.
  • You can play with priority, taking or leaving it, depending on your game plan for the match.
  • Your opponent has little information regarding which locations you are going to compete for until the later stages of the match.

Bounce definitely isn’t an archetype for everyone. In order to enjoy this archetype, you have to be able to plan ahead in a match, know the popular counter cards in the meta to manipulate priority, and be able to adapt on the fly. All of this in addition to knowing the synergies in your deck, obviously.

I would say Bounce is a great deck if you want to get better at the game. You won’t find many decks that are more challenging than this one from a game play standpoint, as Bounce will push you to be very disciplined and look at every aspect of the game.

Archetype Evolution Over Time

January 12th Update

  • Bounce mostly exists as support to the Move synergy. It’s able to come back with its own dedicated deck from time to time, but that one never stays for long.
