Bounce

Archetype pages are updated after each tier list is made. If a page isn’t up-to-date, it means there was nothing worth saying about in the last report, either because there was no data about it, or the archetype did poorly.

How to Play

Bounce relies on playing and replaying cheap cards several times through the use of Beast, and Falcon, which leads to several benefits:

  • The abilities of the cheap cards can be great, such as The HoodNico MinoruIceman, and Forge.
  • Replaying cards serves to buff cards like Werewolf By Night and Bishop since they grow the more cards you play.
  • It gives you an easy way to plan ahead of time because you don’t necessarily depend on your draw to use your energy. You can reuse cards already in play.
  • You are much more flexible with your available space because you can remove cards and play others instead.
  • Bounced cards are usually quite cheap, leading to very flexible turns down the line.
  • You can play with priority, taking or leaving it, depending on your game plan for the match.
  • Your opponent has little information regarding which locations you are going to compete for until the later stages of the match.

Bounce definitely isn’t an archetype for everyone. In order to enjoy this archetype, you have to be able to plan ahead in a match, know the popular counter cards in the meta to manipulate priority, and be able to adapt on the fly. All of this in addition to knowing the synergies in your deck, obviously.

I would say Bounce is a great deck if you want to get better at the game. You won’t find many decks that are more challenging than this one from a game play standpoint, as Bounce will push you to be very disciplined and look at every aspect of the game.

Guides

Current Power Level in the Meta

Both the Bounce archetype and the Darkhawk synergy were flying under the radar for a very long time. Yet, this deck has been popping early in the season, posting a 57% win rate and 0.5 cube average over 400 hundred games.

The deck is reminiscent of the old Good Cards builds, which simply merged the best synergies available in the metagame. Here, we have the Annihilus trio, the Darkhawk trio and the Angela trio with Beast, Nico Minoru and Shang-Chi sprinkled on top, textbook Good Cards building.

We’ll see how this deck fares in the future, but if you don’t know what to expect early in your climb, this is a great option, as you don’t really depend on your opponent at all.

Archetype Evolution Over Time

May 8th Update

  • A bit out of nowhere, Good Cards Bounce posted an impressive performance, taking the top spot in the ranked report. This is textbook what to do early in the season, with proactive play patterns which also impact your opponent.

April 19th Update

  • On the back of mixing the Junk and Darkhawk synergies, Bounce found a way to bring enough disruption to compete in the current meta. It has always been a difficult archetype for new players to pick up, so the current low Cube Average of 0.25 could go up in the near future.

April 6th Update

  • Bounce returned to being able to develop enough points to compete thanks in no small part to Angela‘s reverted nerf. The deck posted a great performance right after the OTA and held the highest Cube Average in the game for a bit.

March 23rd Update

  • Bounce was a ghost in the meta this week, although its power level feels relatively the same as it’s always been. It typically takes a bit for demanding archetypes to gain popularity, so it might just be a matter of time until Bounce comes back in the meta.

March 15th Update

  • There’s not much of Bounce around the meta this week. Bounce Move was a silent performer in the Tier List, and some builds have started to emerge around the X-Men synergy with the launch of the new event.

March 8th Update

  • With the help of Hope Summers, Bounce regained its status as a competitive archetype. The Junk list immediately positioned itself as a Tier 2 archetype.
  • An old school proactive build emerged with Bast, Hit Monkey, and Iron Man thanks to the new Season Pass card.

March 2nd Update

  • Bounce has kind of disappeared since the recent OTA. The lists I saw were very similar to before the update, with Iceman or America Chavez replacing the now 2-Cost Forge.

February 23rd Update

  • Bounce is a Tier 1 deck with the first featured list.
