Introducing Leagues: A New Competitive Experience!

As announced in April 2023, Marvel Snap will be playtesting a new competitive event game mode called Leagues. It is currently live for players in select Europe regions now, and while we digest all the information available, below is the official introduction from Second Dinner.

We’ve built a new way to compete in MARVEL SNAP! Leagues allows you to compete against small groups of similar players for limited periods, vying for placement on a leaderboard and earning rewards based on your performance.

During development, we spend a lot of time trying to get things juuuust right, but this can be really hard without all of your feedback! So, we’re trying a new way to release features in MARVEL SNAP. With Leagues, we wanted to get the feature in players’ hands sooner than later… so we’re running a Leagues test in select EU Regions. We’ll be watching how players interact with Leagues, reading feedback, and making adjustments accordingly. If things go well, we hope to expand access to Leagues to all players!

What are Leagues?

In these limited-time events, you’ll be placed in a League with other similar players after your first game during the event. Then, just play games as normal! Throughout the League, your League Points will adjust based on your game outcomes. More cubes means more Points! At the end of the League, everyone gets rewards… but, the top spots on the leaderboard will receive the best rewards!

Ready to make your epic push to #1 in your League?! Don’t forget to gear up first! When you’re ready to sit down and play, make the most of your time with Point Boosters and Point Shields! Perks help you get more Points when you win and keep more Points when you lose.

You can purchase Perks from the League Perk Shop:

• Points Perk: All Point rewards, wins and losses, are doubled. (30 Minute Duration)
• Points Shield: Don’t lose Points when you lose. (30 Minute Duration)

Perks can be purchased for Gold from the League Perk Shop. This is our first pass on League Perks and we’ll be tuning their cost and impact based on your feedback so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts.

Q: How do I join a League?
A: Players are automatically assigned to a League after their first game while the event is live.

Q: How often will Leagues be active?
A: We’re not sure – it really depends on your feedback! Once we get them tuned, we could imagine running a few League events each month.

Q: How are players grouped in Leagues?
A: Players are grouped with other players who historically play about as much and as well as they do to try to keep leagues fair and competitive.

Q: How much do Perks cost?
A: For the EU Region Test, Perks will be available for purchase at 200 Gold for Points Perk and 150 Gold for Points Shield. We’ll be adjusting and tuning the cost and impact of Perks over time!

Q: Will there be different Perks in the future?
A: We’re planning to change, add, and mix up the Perks available for future events!

Q: What happens at the end of the league?
A: At the end of the League, your final standing is calculated and rewards are distributed based on your rank.
