Nocturne5Alberto Dal Lago
Caiera5Alex Horley
Selene5Quiet Council

Another month, another new season with a batch of new cards! And heading that lineup is Nocturne. This card takes my pick for most interesting effect. Being able to change a location with movement opens up a lot of flexibility for decks. Did you get locked out of a location and are losing it? Move Nocturne there and swap it. Were you winning that location? Keep Nocturne on stand by in case your opponent reveals a way to add Power to it. She also works great on turn 6 to flip a location at the last second without needing to play out another card that turn for the same effect. The question is what decks does she fit into?

Caiera and Selene also join the Cache this week. I think these cards are a bit more lackluster in the current meta. Junk decks aren’t using Selene much, and Caiera mostly saw play in Thanos before his active rework began. These two cards aren’t bad necessarily. They just don’t have a good home in the meta in its current state.

Sage5Alberto Dal Lago
Legion4Flaviano
The Living Tribunal5Inkpulp

After the latest datamines, it appears the next new card, Sage, was changed from a [4/1] to a [3/0]. This is pretty significant in a number of ways. The card now has the potential to be a [3/14] in perfect conditions with additional room to grow with the 3-Cost synergy of Silver Surfer. That’s a pretty high ceiling! This card also works great with Mister Negative, Ravonna Renslayer, and On Reveal (Wong) decks. The trickiest part of this card will be controlling point values to ensure she grows.

Legion and The Living Tribunal also return this week alongside Sage! Legion is a solid card and a great surprise for your opponent. It can steal you wins since he isn’t meta, but still is strong enough to be competitive. If you swap locations into one that is more favorable to your deck, you can force your opponent into tricky or impossible to win matches.

The Living Tribunal is a solid card in 2 build around decks, but both decks suffer from the mill and junk archetypes. If the meta shifts away from these popular decks in this season, we could see a Tribunal comeback!

Namora5Alberto Dal Lago
Black Knight5Paul Renaud
Skaar5Ron Garney

Namora looks like an interesting unique card, but not good when Shang-Chi is a card. Since she is On Reveal, you have to set up a target like Namor, and then play Namora to get value. This leaves you wide-open to Shang-Chi and even Shadow King. You could play her on turn 6, but you may struggle at winning locations with only 1 card plus a little power boost. Doctor Doom just does this task better, only needs space to trigger, and isn’t vulnerable to as many tech cards.

Black Knight and Skaar also make their returns to the Spotlight Cache rotation this week! Black Knight is a solid card for discard, but the deck leaned heavily into Zabu to snowball power through the Ebony Blade, Dracula, and Ghost Rider. After the nerf to Zabu, this deck disappeared and hasn’t made a strong comeback yet.

Skaar is another Thanos card that basically disappeared from the meta after the Thanos rework started. He’s also another card that is good, but the decks you want to use him in were either nerfed or can’t keep up with the meta. Will next week’s card give Skaar a new home though?

Sasquatch5Alberto Dal Lago
Havok4Hellfire Gala
Ravonna Renslayer4Chibi

With the end of the month comes the final cards for the season, and Second Dinner definitely left the arguable best for last. Sasquatch looks like the next evolution of She-Hulk. If you play Mysterio on turn 2, Sasquatch becomes a [3/10] that Mobius M. Mobius doesn’t have time to stop. This allows you to play a 10 Power card on turn 3, follow up with a 10 Power card like Cull Obsidian or Crossbones on turn 4, any 10 Power card on turn 5, and you can play Skaar on turn 6 for free! That’s a lot of Power and a strong curve.

Sasquatch also works great as an extra finisher for Hit Monkey! This card honestly looks super strong since playing even 1 card makes him a 5/10. So you will rarely see him costing 6!

Ravonna Renslayer and Havok are a mixed bag that tie up the final cache. Ravonna has found plenty of homes after her buffs and is even a requirement for some decks! Havok is a fun card that synergizes well with Ravonna. I wouldn’t call Havok a good card in meta terms, but he does have a few homes in more niche decks. He definitely isn’t a must have card, but Ravonna is becoming a card you need to own (especially with Sage launching a few weeks before this cache).
