How the chart works
Here are the basic principles and rules that the chart follows:
- The price in dollars, next to the price in gold is calculated based on the conversion of 700 gold to 10 dollars. The reasons for this have been described earlier.
- CL Progress value means how many times more profitable it is to get currencies used to increase the Collection Level (Gold and Credits) by buying a bundle, than to get the same resources through a standard currency conversion through the store.
- Сosmetic value means how many times more advantageous it is to buy cosmetics from a bundle (avatar, title, variant) by buying it than to buy similar items in the store. The price for Avatars and Titles is based on a price of 350 gold. The reasons for this are also described in the first guide about bundles.
- The total value is calculated by adding the two above. So, for example, a value of 3.0 means that buying a bundle is three times more profitable than buying similar items in the in-game shop.
- Boosters are not included in the calculations because they have no real value due to how easy it is to get them later in the game.
- Since the total value is calculated early in the calculation and then rounded up, there may be CL Progress and cosmetic values in the table whose sum is not equal to the total value on the chart. In this case, the total value is more accurate than the simple sum of the other two from the chart.
The chart uses the following color coding:
- In the Cosmetic Value and CL Progress Value rows we use red highlighting to display bundles with a value below 1, which means that it is more profitable to get the same resources through standard conversion methods. The base white color is for values between 1 and 2 and indicates the offers are slightly above average. A green highlight is used for values greater than 2; these are extremely profitable offers in their categories (cosmetics and collection level progress) and should be the target for the players who want to get the most out of it.
- In the “total value” row, red is used to indicate bundles with a value below 2, white for bundles with a value between 2 and 3, and green for values of 3 and above. This particular approach to total value is needed to correctly reflect the profitability of a bundle when adding up the other two values.
How Do Newbie Day Bundles Work?
Newbie Day bundles are a series of 7 bundles that covers the first 7 days of Marvel Snap targeted to brand new players. Information here is from Tucker, designer of the bundles at Second Dinner.
- These bundles have a variety of price points but are designed to be at high value similar to the Welcome Bundle, for players who want to jumpstart their collections.
- The first bundle (Sneak Peek!) is triggered after the player finishes the tutorial and lasts for 24 hours.
- The next bundle (Wakanda Combo!) replaces the previous one 24 hours later, and so on.
- Series 3 cards are chosen so that it is balanced in the early Collection Level meta (Series 1 and 2).
- Duration of the bundles are short and varied to showcase and appeal to new players.
- The bundles listed below are available to new accounts starting from May 18, 2023 at 12:30 AM GMT. They are still work in progress and may be iterated and changed over time depending on the data.

Sneak Peek!
For the Sneak Peek! bundle, according to our calculations, if you don’t take into account the Thor Base Card you get in addition to the two Thor variants, the total value of the bundle is 5.5, so this is the best newbie bundle in terms of value. Another thing to consider is that Thor is a pretty good card for a beginner (but not strong enough to impact the low Collection Level meta), as a very strong third drop early in the game, as well as a good meta card. Right now the most popular Tier 2 deck that uses Thor is Lockjaw Thor.
Another good thing about this bundle is that you get not only these variants for the card, but also the Thor card itself. Which means it won’t take up a slot in any of Collector’s Reserves in the future, because you will already have the base version, unlike other bundles in this series.
Because of all of the above, we rate this bundle a 4.5 out of 5.

Wakanda Combo!
On the second day, the newcomer will be offered twice as expensive Wakanda Combo! bundle, offering less value, which is equal to 3.0. Two variants allow you to use these cards right away, but the problem is that in the low ranks the Black Panther is 5/8 without support cards such as Wong and Arnim Zola, so even Abomination is a better choice for the deck. And Nakia is just too weak a card to use in any deck in its current form.
Due to the high price of the bundle and its too weak content, we give this bundle a score of 3 out of 5.

Try a New Deck!
The Try a New Deck! bundle probably offers the best card for a beginner, judging by the ability to play a new archetype (the name was chosen for a reason, right?). If you make a full vanilla No Ability deck that synergizes with Patriot, it might be a good option for the early days. But most likely a Ka-Zar Zoo deck will still be stronger. That said, the value of this bundle is almost the worst of the series, giving a value of 2.2. Thus, we rate the bundle a 3 out of 5.

Beef Up Your Team!
The Beef Up Your Team! bundle is quite controversial. On the one hand, this bundle offers a 1,200 Gold variant and 750 Credits at a price of only 700 Gold. But on the other hand the Collection Level value of this bundle is less by 10% than you could get in the store and therefore equals 0.9. Besides, if you buy this bundle you get a variant for a card that is hardly used, except in fan decks. Even dino decks that benefit from a big hand usually don’t include Maria Hill.
Because of all this, we rate this bundle a 3.5 out of 5. Sure, getting a 1,200 Gold variant for only 700 Gold is great, but not for a beginner who doesn’t even have all cards from Series one.

Higher, Further, Faster!
This $20 bundle can hardly offer a higher value then in-game shop. The CL value is 1.4, the Cosmetic value is even lower and equals 1.1, which adds up to a Total value of 2.5. The included variant would immediately allow you to use Captain Marvel in your deck, but the question is: is it worth it? Like many other cards you can get in a Newbie Day bundles Captain Marvel is pretty weak and even at low ranks can be put out of the deck in favor of something else.
Because of the mediocre value and the varaiant for a not-so-good card, we rate this bundle a 2.5 out of 5

Slam Dunk
The $10 Slam Dunk bundle has a Total value of 3.5 and contains a Variant for Miles Morales. Considering how early cards like Nightcrawler and Vision are available, Miles Morales could be a nice addition to a tempo deck. Of course this bundle is pretty far from the $10 Season Pass in terms of value, but it’s still pretty good overall. We give this bundle a 4 out of 5.

Into the Venomverse
To be honest, I don’t understand why this bundle exists, much less why it is offered to newcomers. Let’s start with the main thing: the price. This bundle costs 7,500 Gold and will be gone 24 hours after it appears. There is absolutely no chance that a a novice player will be able to accumulate such a huge amount of gold so quickly without spending money. Even advanced players will take about two months to get that amount of currency. Thus, this bundle should be thought of as a bundle that costs $100 rather than a bundle that sells for gold.
Also this bundle is hardly profitable in its individual categories: the CL progress value is 1.1, the cosmetics value is 0.4, and the total value is 1.6. Basically, this bundle is like the Pro Masterpiece bundle, but with the addition of cosmetics that aren’t even unique.
Even the cards which variants are contained in the bundle are not particularly good for a beginner. The destroy archetype at low collection levels simply doesn’t have enough cards to fully play good destoy combos. Venom and Deadpool are hardly the cards that are missing to make a fully functioning destroy deck.
Thus, I see no reason to spend so much Gold or dollars on this bundle, when in the future, at the 500 Collection Level there will be bundles containing Tokens. And then most likely some equally expensive and much more profitable bundle will be available.
That’s why we rate this bundle a 1 out of 5.

Conclusion
Mathematically, all of these bundles (except the Into the Venomverse bundle, of course) can be considered valuable to some degree or another.
However, if you are a beginner and not sure about spending money right away, it may be better to wait and not buy any of these bundles, and spend your money and gold on a season pass and bundles that provide good value.
All of the Newbie Day bundles are designed for a player to spend money without understanding the true value of in-game currencies. That’s why the very existence of these bundles, especially given the limited time of 24 hours, is a rather controversial decision from Second Dinner. Especially since all the currency and even variants presented can be obtained later in a more controlled environment and perhaps even cheaper.
Thus, I once again advise you to pay attention to current and upcoming bundles in our special website section so that you can spend your limited resources in the best way possible.

Frustrating 🙁
So existing players will never be able to get those variants??
Those variants are in the rotation, and have been available for some time. Existing players just won’t have them as easily accessible.
