Marvel Snap Conquest Meta Tier List: December 23, 2024 – Marvel Rivals Week 4

The formula that's been working in Ranked is not as successful in Conquest. In fact, many of the top decks in the Ranked Tier List didn't even make it to Tier 1 in Conquest! Find out which decks did make it to Tier 1 here!

Welcome to our Marvel Snap Conquest Meta Tier List! Each week, we review the best decks in the ever-changing Marvel Snap Conquest meta.

This report is dedicated to the Conquest mode and lists the current best decks to run the gauntlet and grab your next Infinity avatar. We also provide a Ranked report, available around the middle of the week based on the latest updates, that highlights the best archetypes for that mode. Looking to figure out the impact of the newly released card or the latest balance changes in Conquest? This is the place to be!

If you are looking for more information about a deck in particular, check out our Archetypes pages, with detailed information about each of the household names in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Conquest Overview

Flexibility is typically rewarded in Conquest because hiding your deck’s full potential gives you more wiggle room to Snap and/or counter your opponent’s Snaps. However, the current flexible decks don’t really hide their potential until Turn 6; at the moment, Good Cards, Arishem, and even Lockdown reveal most of their potential by Turn 3 or 4. Seeing a Galacta, Doctor Doom 2099, or other foundational card drop on the board, you can usually figure out what you have to beat.

With this in mind, even though those decks are running some counter cards, they mostly rely on their ability to produce enough points to get the job done. Unfortunately, if they don’t have the appropriate counter card, they’ll have an uphill battle to overpower the likes of Mister Negative and Discard. As such, the edge that these decks have in Ranked (which comes from opponents not knowing whether you have the right counter card or not) disappears after a few rounds in Conquest. Naturally, that gives the edge to the synergistic, high-potential decks.

Toxic is a bit of the exception to this rule, and it took the #1 spot because of that this week. That deck packs more disruption without being as predictable as the other flexible decks.

Happy Tier List, everyone!

Disclaimer and Tier Explanations

In order to be featured here, a deck needs to hold a Win Rate above the 50% threshold over more than a hundred Conquest games.

In order to create this chart, den is using data from our Marvel Snap Tracker, as well as other available data online and his own expertise and opinion of respected players. If a deck showed great performances with a very limited presence in the meta, you can find it in the Silent Performers section. That section highlights decks with an excellent Win Rate, but too little of a sample size to be representative of their real strength.

Decks not good enough to be considered contenders but with a good representation will be ranked in Tier 3 in our chart. See those builds as decks that are good to know about, as you should face them when playing Marvel Snap. However, unless the meta changes or a new variation of the build emerges, these decks are a notch below the dominant ones in Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Silent Performer: Decks with a very little presence in the meta that still showcase a Cube Average and Win Rate worthy of a Tier 2 deck (or better). Oftentimes, these can be archetypes with some nice game play that have been left unchecked in the current environment, or decks on the rise that found a few good match ups to abuse.

Tier 1: Tier 1 represents decks with all the upsides we would be looking for to run the gauntlet. They have good match ups in the current meta, offer different play patterns during a match, and often have the ability for explosive or surprising turns. These should be decks worth investing into in order to climb for the coming week.
Win Rate > 62%

Tier 2: Tier 2 are very good decks but with a weakness holding them back – either not being as reliable in its draws as Tier 1 decks, countered by another popular deck, or still being a work in progress as you read this. A good pilot could probably take these and have the same results as with a Tier 1 deck, but their play patterns are more difficult to enact compared to the tier above.
Win Rate > 58%

Tier 3: This tier is made of decks that have a pervasive issue compared to Tier 1 or Tier 2 decks. Usually, Tier 3 will be a mix of decks on the rise that don’t have much data, old archetypes on the decline, decks that require substantial experience and/or knowledge to pilot properly, powerful decks that aren’t well positioned, or niche decks.
Win Rate > 54%

Budget: Decks that consist only of cards in Pool 1 and 2 that are still capable of competing with an experienced pilot in a similar Collection Level, Rank, and MMR range. See our matchmaking guide for more details.

Generally speaking, Toxic isn’t a very unpredictable deck. You want to play Ajax to win one lane and leverage your affliction cards to win the other. However, in this very predictable meta, the power of U.S. Agent and Man-Thing is through the roof. Doctor Doom 2099 makes the 2-Cost a double-digit card almost every time you play it, and Man-Thing can just drop front of Psylocke or Zabu and easily represent an 11 power card.

With so much power in just a few cards already, the deck doesn’t have to work hard to seal the deal. If Red Guardian or Shadow King have a good target, you don’t even need the energy cheating brought by Valentina and Anti-Venom.

With a mind-blowing 75% Win Rate over 150 games, Toxic easily took first place this week.

Potential Additions

Hydra Bob is the flexible card in the deck. Spider-Ham could serve as extra disruption and Silver Sable synergizes with Ajax. Neither works well with Malekith, though.

Apart from Mister Negative, there aren’t many decks that are able to rival Discard on points. However, many of the decks with a lower points potential are running Red Guardian (even Lady Deathstrike lately), which can be catastrophic for Dracula and Morbius. You need to be patient for a few rounds to see if these threats exist or not, but once you know what you’re dealing with you have a pretty obvious Snap strategy.

A 63% Win Rate for a deck with threats around might look weird, but I guess they aren’t too popular or Discard is able to dodge them fairly well.

Potential Additions

Fenris Wolf, Moon Knight, and Swarm can replace Malekith, Strong Guy, and Grand Master.

With Super-Skrull in the mix for Doctor Doom 2099, the only thing stopping Mister Negative is Mobius M. Mobius (and occasionally Alioth). Fortunately, neither are super popular at the moment, as most decks are focused on doing their own thing.

Until the meta changes, I think Mister Negative will remain a strong pick. The 62% Win Rate seems to agree with me.

Potential Additions

Super-Skrull is the flexible card. It can be Ironheart or Cassandra Nova depending on your goal with the deck.

Lockdown

After a solid performance in Ranked that marked the deck’s comeback thanks to Doctor Doom 2099, Lockdown also posted a solid 59.5% Win Rate in Conquest this week with the help of the new card. The big question is whether the deck will continue to gain momentum or start to crumble as decks adapt against it. For example, Lady Deathstrike has started to appear in certain decks to remove Doctor Doom 2099 before it can summon its second DoomBot 2099.

Lockdown immediately became quite popular, so other archetypes definitely have a reason to target it. Let’s see if it is able to withstand them.

Potential Additions

Super-Skrull can give you an edge in the mirror match, and Quake sometimes replaces Jeff the Baby Land Shark.

Arishem

Arishem keeps giving me reason to believe it remains a competitive option after it was nerfed two weeks ago. This time around, it is the arrival of Lady Deathstrike that made Arishem a good counter to Doctor Doom 2099. The tech card is even better here since you can play it on Turn 4.

In Conquest, you have more control over your good and bad draws with your Snaps and Retreats. This allows you to limit the impact of the random cards when they don’t line up. Indeed, once you know what your opponent is playing, you know if the generated cards are going to be useful in the match up or not. In Ranked, you often just have to leave because you lack that information and your core cards were stuck in the deck.

With a 59% Win Rate, Arishem is still holding on to its status as a good archetype.

Potential Additions

The 4- and 5-Cost cards are what this deck is relying on at the moment. They let you maximize the impact of the extra energy on Turn 3. Look for impactful cards at those costs if you need a replacement for anything.

A 58% Win Rate is far from a bad performance, but I kind of expected better than 6th place in Conquest since this was the top archetype in Ranked.

Basically, the deck’s flexibility doesn’t impact a match as much here as it did in the other mode. Once the opponent knows they can outpoint you, your counter cards are the only ones that matter, hence why the best list in Conquest features Shang-Chi, Juggernaut, and Red Guardian while the Ranked list focused more on points.

Unfortunately, none of these stop Mister Negative or another flexible deck with a strong start, especially once they know what to play around.

Potential Additions

Plenty of cards fit the Good Cards mold, but the current meta seems to reward disruption more than development. As such, once you find the cards you want to pair with Galacta and Gwenpool, look for cards that are able to mess a up someone’s game plan. Cards like Mobius M. Mobius, Enchantress, and Rogue are some ideas.

Only a 55% Win Rate for Thanos Wiccan this week. The deck has been around for a while, but it’s never managed to break through and become a top contender. Maybe when the next patch comes around it will (if Wiccan is able to dodge a nerf again, that is).

There was much less of Shadow King around this week, which was a very good thing for Destroy. Still, a 54% Win Rate means the deck can only count on its ability to grow a huge Deadpool to beat its opponent. And it often won’t get more than two cubes out of that plan.

Closing Words

Playing Conquest is a lot about finding reasons to Snap so you can take an early lead in the match and control the stakes from there. In a meta where cards are hard to counter when played as intended (such as Galacta and Doctor Doom 2099), being proactive seems like a better fit. That is what Discard and Mister Negative are doing, and they’re both sitting in the top tier.

There is a little bit of room to change things up, though; Toxic posted an incredibly impressive performance to take the top spot. Finding success in this meta is about finding a synergy that’s been left unchecked and has enough gas to beat the current popular decks.

U.S. Agent and Lady Deathstrike have emerged as great candidates against Doctor Doom 2099, so who knows how long the current strategies will stay put.
