Guide

The Artist Showcase: Kim Jacinto Bundle is once again of rather disappointing value for an Artist Showcase bundle. However, as we already know, Artist Showcase bundles seem to be getting a lot better in the future, and the Artist Showcase: Kai Lun Qu bundle is an example of that.

Speaking of the Artist Showcase: Kim Jacinto bundle, if you have both Darkhawk and Master Mold, the value of this bundle is terrible; you’ll spend 7,500 Gold and get 0.25 fewer Series 5 cards than if you just buy Token Tuesdays or convert your Gold to Credits.

Considering Master Mold isn’t a very good card and Darkhawk decks are not the strongest in the game anymore, buying this bundle to get those two cards is a pretty questionable decision. But still, assuming you don’t have one of the two cards, it’s like this bundle contains 3,000 tokens because you’ll be able to play a Series 4 card right away. In this case, the bundle will have a conditional value of 0.44 Tokens per Gold, or like 0.25 more Series 5 cards than buying Token Tuesdays. And the last one is a very big number, and the values get even bigger if you don’t have any of these cards, then this bundle is like having 0.84 Token for Gold and 0.75 more cards than buying Token Tuesdays, which is comparable in value to the best bundles for USD.

However, it’s important to realize that these are very arbitrary numbers, as these aren’t directly Collector’s Tokens that you can set aside and save up, but cards that you can’t change. That’s why it’s so important to understand exactly what these cards are, how useful they are, and whether you can get them any other way.

Let’s start with the latter, the last time both of these cards were in Spotlight Caches was in late July/early August. And they won’t be there again until at least early December. And this means with equal probability that either these cards will be dropped in series and become Series 3 in the next couple of months (and we know for sure that series drops will happen), or these cards will not be dropped in series and will not be available in any other way than buying them for Tokens for a very, very long time.

And even so, if this is the only alternative method to get Darkhawk and Master Mold, let’s see what exactly these cards are.

Darkhawk after all the recent balance changes and new card releases just disappeared from the meta and Good Cards deck isn’t even a Tier 3 deck. So at this point getting Darkhawk or a variant for him won’t do much for you and there are plenty of other Series 4 and Series 5 cards worth spending resources on.

Due to the recent Spider-Ham and Captain Marvel nerfs and Rockslide changes, below is not a Good Cards Stature deck, but a Darkhawk Dino deck that’s perhaps now better for Darkhawk use.

Master of Mold‘s position in the meta is even worse than Darkhawk‘s, as it’s used exclusively in fan decks. So even if you get this card, it’s unlikely to be actively used. Below is a deck that at least somehow uses Master Mold to its advantage.

In conclusion, I’d also like to say that in two months we’ll have a lot of good bundles for Gold waiting for us. In particular, I’m talking about such expensive and excellent bundles as Forged in Night, High Stakes, or Artist Showcase: Kai Lun Qu. So, if you compare the Artist Showcase: Kim Jacinto bundle with its nearest and fairest counterpart in the Artist Showcase series, the Artist Showcase: Kai Lun Qu bundle offers on average 50% more value for 1,000 less Gold. And by buying it, you will get a very good value regardless of your collection and will be able to spend more of the larger amount of currency received for what you really want.

So, because of the low value of the bundle for those who have both cards; because both of these cards are not very good for those who don’t have them; because there’s a non-zero chance that both of these cards will be dropped in the series soon; because there are no Tokens in the bundle, and because we will soon have much better bundles for a lower price, we give the Artist Showcase: Kim Jacinto bundle 1 star out of 5, just for the fact that maybe for some narrow group of people this bundle could be useful right now, just to play one or two new cards if they don’t have them.

Rating

Rating: 1 out of 5.

As usual, keep in mind the following points before purchasing bundles:

  • Date: Bundle start and end dates are at the daily reset time, which is 3 AM GMT.
    • Bundles are grouped according to the season.
  • Cost: Cost for $ is in US Dollars and will be converted to your local currency in-game.
    • You may be able to purchase cash items cheaper using the official publisher Nuverse web shop with a different currency.
  • Credits: The maximum Credit storage limit is 10,000. With a bundle purchase, you may go over the limit but not be able to collect anymore from other sources.
  • Collector’s Tokens: Players need to be at least Collection Level 500 before being able to see bundles that offer Collector’s Tokens offered in the Shop.
  • Mystery Variant: Is chosen randomly from a Base Card you already own, from the released 700 Gold Rare variant pool.
  • Variants: You can use any new bundle-specific variants acquired even if you don’t yet own the Base Card.
    • Bundle-specific variants are exclusive and are likely will not be offered through other sources, unless it is from a Season Pass from the Beta.
  • Value: Compare Bundle values using our comparison chart guide.
