Best Weapon X Wolverine Decks and Strategy Guide

Read about the new card's strengths and weaknesses and find some decks to try it out on day 1 in here!

Weapon X Wolverine is the Season Pass card for the December 2025 Season, Weapon X. It is a 2-Cost, 2-Power card that reads: After one of your other cards is destroyed, +1 Power. After every 3rd time, improve this effect by 1. (0/3)

Season Pass cards can only be obtained through purchasing the Season Pass they are attached to when they release. At the end of their season, Season Pass cards become Series 5, and can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as part of the daily rotation. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack during the season following their release.

Strengths and Weaknesses

If Weapon X Wolverine gains power for every of our destroyed cards, we can expect the 2-cost to regularly reach the double digits count.
Indeed, multiple archetypes have proved their ability to destroy multiple cards per turn, be it with Killmonger, Carnage or Venom. Add Moira X to that mix to make sure you won’t run out of cards to play, and the new season pass card has the perfect environment to routinely challenge 5 or 6-cost cards from a power standpoint.

Then, considering the synergies around the card are pretty obvious, let’s dedicate this section to the cards able to potentially ruin the destroy party about to begin.

The obvious disruptor when it comes to Destroy decks, Armor would limit our ability to grow Weapon X Wolverine, but not actually stop the card if we can get the ball rolling.

This is much better way to stop Weapon X Wolverine in my opinion, as it is very unlikely the opponent will play their cards on the 2-cost’s location if the goal is to destroy them, except for maybe Killmonger. As such, we should have a clear path to stop Weapon X Wolverine from growing with Red Guardian.

A top disruptive card due to its ability to cancel all types of power gains, Shadow King is already a very popular card. A new target will only make the 3-cost more popular, and likely the biggest threat for Weapon X Wolverine.

The key for the new season pass card to thrive will be to dodge these cards. If we can do that, I have no doubt Weapon X Wolverine will rank amongst the highest power 2-costs in Marvel Snap.

The Verdict: Should You Buy Weapon X Wolverine ?

Weapon X Wolverine has the potential to be one of the largest 2-cost cards in the game, rivaling Kraven in the Move synergy. However, while Kraven is played in one of the strongest synergies in the game, Weapon X Wolverine might have to contribute to its deck total power more.
Indeed, I don’t foresee the card in Deadpool Destroy, rather in Destroy Zoo or Firehair type of decks. These are in dire need of more points to be competitive, so Weapon X Wolverine will immediately represent a new way to anchor a location.

Unfortunately, this means Weapon X Wolverine will likely have a heavier load to carry compared to Kraven, but just as many disruptive cards to worry about.

Rating: 7 out of 10.

Weapon X Wolverine

There aren’t a ton of options to consider with Weapon X Wolverine. Indeed, the card is tied to the Destroy synergy, and will either make it in one of that theme’s archetype, or be considered a disappointment.

Here are four archetypes built around the Destroy synergy. Although Deadpool is the most popular and best performing deck, I’m not sure whether it will be the right fit for Weapon X Wolverine. The new 2-cost should be able to grow in that build, but also feels like nothing but another back up plan to Deadpool staying in the deck. When that happens, Knull typically becomes our focus, meaning Wolwerine might be the better 2-cost to destroy on repeat.
Then, except if we get X-23 into Weapon X Wolverine specifically, followed by destroy abilities on turn three, four and five, the value of the new season pass card isn’t that great in the deck.

The other decks actually need this type of card, and are willing to build their curve around Weapon X Wolverine being played on turn two. As such, I expect the more flexible destroy decks to utilize the 2-cost more efficiently.
