Drax, Avatar of Life is the second Series 5 card joining Marvel Snap for the February 2026 Season, Guardians’ Greatest Hits Vol.2. It is a 3-Cost, 4-Power card that reads:
End of Turn: +3 Power if your opponent played a card with greater Power this turn. Move to that card if you’d be winning its location.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.
Synergies
Drax, Avatar of Life looks like a standalone card one would play mostly to get a solid 3-cost able to grow to 10 or 13 power. To be fair, that could be enough to earn a spot in good cards type of decks, but there is more.
The main appeal of the card is the fact it will move if that allows us to win the location, or stay in place if that location is a lost cause. On the last turn, this is an improved Captain Marvel type of ability, except we would at least get a 7 power card rather than a 5. During the other turns, this is also a great way to keep priority, a core component of certain archetypes.
On top of that, Drax, Avatar of Life mixes multiples synergies which could grant it a spot in multiple decks:
- The card moves, so Prowler or Miles Morales might be interested

- It is an End of Turn ability, so Aurora could see it as a good target.

- It is a high-power 3-cost, in case Wiccan or Silver Surfer would be looking for a new one.

Unfortunately, none of these synergy are particularly strong in the current metagame. In that context, Drax, Avatar of Life might be a little disappointing at first, due to a strong standalone not fitting the current dominant decks.
However, Wiccan or Aurora have managed to craft disruptive builds designed to annoy Star-Lord, Master of the Sun. These decks rely on Cosmo and such cards based on priority, something the new 3-cost might be able to help with.
The Verdict: Should You Get Drax, Avatar of Life?
I don’t expect Drax, Avatar of Life to shine due to the current metagame not being fit for such a card. However, the new 3-cost looks like a solid card overall, meaning I want it in my collection for the future.
Plus, it should be a fine addition to disruptive builds with a strong need for priority heading into turn four and five.
Pre-Release Score:
Drax, Avatar Of Life Decks
I don’t foresee any intricate synergy with Drax, Avatar of Life, so my expectations for the card is to help me with points and priority first and foremost.
These three are good enough to compete, although they struggle in the points department compared to the best in the metagame. Drax, Avatar of Life won’t be enough to balance that problem, but should help the disruptive pieces in the deck to be more effective.
