Archangel Horseman of Death is the second Series 5 card joining Marvel Snap for the April 2026 Season, X-Men: End of Days. It is a 2-Cost, 3-Power card that reads:
Objective: Your cards are destroyed 4 times. Resurrect one here with +4 Power. (0/4)

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.
Synergies
Archangel Horseman of Death is a fairly obvious card, which is both a strength and a weakness.
It is an upside because we have a clear path to envision how to play the card. We’ll slot it in destroy oriented decks, likely the more flexible ones such as Dormammu, in order to bring back one of our utility cards.
Ideally, we’ll destroy the first iteration with Carnage, and the second one with the +4 buff with Venom to keep the extra power.

Unfortunately, there are also a few problems with this new card, and they out weight the benefits in my opinion:
- Destroying 4 cards isn’t that simple, especially if we have to play a 2-cost on the side. It might happen too late to really leverage the ability past getting a card back with +4 power.
- We don’t target which card will come back, meaning we can’t plan around it except when all four cards serve a similar purpose.
- Many cards aimed at being destroyed don’t count as destroyed since they go back to our hand. Deadpool, Headpool, Wolverine and such will contribute to the pool, but can’t be brought back to have two of them.
- When we summon back a card designed to be destroyed, it is on the same location as Archangel Horseman of Death.
- Just like Weapon X Wolverine when it came out, this card tells our opponent a lot about our future plans, while being vulnerable to possible disruption when played on turn 2.
Archangel Horseman of Death can be kept in hand, but we then need to find a later turn with 2 energy available.
With that in mind, the only way to really benefit from Archangel Horseman of Death would be to destroy cards not staying in the pool. This way, we can actually target one specific card to summon back, as the others would not be potential targets.
The Verdict: Should You Get Archangel Horseman of Death?
Destroy isn’t a bad synergy at the moment, although it is far from a dominant one, particularly the Dormammu archetype. However, with a card such as Weapon X Wolverine not considered a staple due to the amount of abilities we have access to, I doubt the new Archangel Horseman of Death will manage to earn a spot.
It is a card limited to a specific synergy, and probably one we won’t run in that synergy. Sorry, but it is a hard pass for me.
