Best Zombie Scarlet Witch Decks and Strategy Guide

Read about the new card's strengths and weaknesses and find some decks to try it out on day 1 in here!

Zombie Scarlet Witch is the Season Pass card for the October 2025 Season, Undead Horde. It is a 3-Cost, 2-Power card that reads: After you play a card here, Horde +2.

Season Pass cards can only be obtained through purchasing the Season Pass they are attached to when they release. At the end of their season, Season Pass cards become Series 5, and can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as part of the daily rotation. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack during the season following their release.

Strengths and Weaknesses

At first glance, the new season pass looks to be a [3/8], a solid cost-to-power ratio we can achieve simply through playing cards behind Zombie Scarlet Witch. However, the period we had Angela gain +2 power per card showed we had plenty of ways to trigger that ability many more times than a mere three occurences.

These two are the golden gooses when it comes to playing cards behind another without actually using up our space available. They are cheap, flexible, and replicable every turn if we want to. Merlin is a bit more random as we can’t play any spell without certain conditions, but the 2-cost isn’t far behind Kitty Pryde.
Agamotto could be in that discussion, but is a bit trickier to use, while it also reduces our chance at finding Zombie Scarlet Witch on turn three.

Past these two, there are plenty of cards we can use to also get a buff without losing a spot, but these aren’t replicable, or as cheap.
First up, a collection of cards able to move.

Then, we have cards able to move other cards :

There are other cards allowing us to trigger Zombie Scarlet Witch without using up a space, for example Agony or Hulkbuster. With only 12 slots available, we should have no problem filling our deck with options to grow our Zombie Horde.

Plus, we already know plenty of cards interesting in that ability, since they share the same condition as Zombie Scarlet Witch of stacking cards in one place, and already were played alongside Angela in the past :

Then, the issue won’t be to get a big extra source of power. Rather, we will need to preserve it from possible counter cards. One in particular comes to mind :

Considering the Zombie Horde is a base 0 power, Shadow King should be a huge threat. If we get it to 10 power, Shang-Chi will also be a concern, while Red Guardian or Ghost Rider”] could also turn off Zombie Scarlet Witch.
Last, we could worry about the Clog synergy, which tends to be really annoying for decks looking to play on a specific location.

Cosmo represents a simple solution to all those difficulties. However, Zombie Scarlet Witch also costs 3 energy, so we need to figure out a curve which makes sense with both cards included.

The Verdict: Should You Buy Zombie Scarlet Witch?

Old Angela got nerfed to gaining only 1 power, so we know Zombie Scarlet Witch comes in with a strong ability. Sure, this isn’t the same Marvel Snap, so the same ability months later might not have the same impact.
Still, I have little doubt the new season pass card will be able to develop quite a big amount of points for her cost. At least, when we’ll get all the Zombie Horde cards available.

All four decks share the same idea with different support systems around them. Yet, I simply can’t ignore how good Merlin is with Zombie Scarlet Witch, while Werewolf by Night should be in every deck with the 2-cost included.
Then, we can pick to go for points with the Kitty Gang, Bounce, or Thanos. One is more straight-forward, the other is a bit sneakier, while the Mad Titan is more good cards focused. We could also take a more disruptive route, with Green Goblin and Agamotto adding some layers of disruption.

Zombie Scarlet Witch isn’t a very complicated card, so let’s not make complicated decks at first. Once more Horde related card will be out, we might be able to build around that specific synergy, although the payoff is Zombie Giant-Man, and I’m not particularly a fan of that card.

Conclusion

I believe Zombie Scarlet Witch will need some sort of disruptive deck to shine, as I’m confident the likes of End of Turn or Iron Hand will likely beat it in point’ contest. However, because the card synergizes with the likes of Green Goblin, that disruptive deck should be fairly simple to build.

I expect the new season pass to be a simple, yet effective, probably not dominant type of card this season.
