Superior Spider-Man is the first Series 5 cards joining Marvel Snap for the November 2025 Season, Arachnid Anarchy. It is a 3-Cost, 4-Power card that reads: At the start of each turn, you get +1 Energy if you have any cards with increased Power in play.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Luna Snow showed us a 3-cost able to grant bonus energy without an annoying requirement is a competitive card, able to contribute to various archetypes. Then, while Superior Spider-Man does have a condition attached to it, not giving our opponent the same extra energy is quite interesting.
The question is simple : Can we reliably get a card with increased power in play over the first two turns so Superior Spider-Man gives us bonus energy from turn four to six, effectively becoming a [0/4] ?
Here are the cards activating Superior Spider-Man for sure :

These can trigger it, but have a condition attached, be it to simply play another card :

There are quite a few, and I left out the likes of Surge or Okoye, which seemed too Random to be called reliable options. Even with those not factored in, there seem to be plenty of worthy candidates in order to profit from Superior Spider-man’s ability.
Our next question is : Which cards synergize together in order to create a cohesive build ?
- The Hunger and Zombie Mister Fantastic pertain to the Zombie Horde synergy. Plus, we can easily add Angela.
- America Chavez, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, Nico Minoru and Silver Sable can all be played in the same Bounce deck, or maybe a Destroy Zoo build.
- Sam Wilson Captain America and Goliath coexist in the Ongoing deck.
- America Chavez plus Forge are common inclusion in Silver Surfer buff decks.
- Sunspot and Evolved Misty Knight are staples in High Evolutionary decks.
Once again, quite a bit of deckbuilding directions we can explore.
The Verdict: Should You Get Superior Spider-Man?
Luna Snow, Electro or Hope Summers all three are competitive cards at the moment, showing 3-cost able to grant extra energy are a premium in Marvel Snap. Then, I have no doubt Superior Spider-Man will join them as part of the metagame sooner rather than later.
The puzzle we need to solve concerns the balance of our deck in order to reliably trigger the 3-cost’s condition, and figure out which turn we want it to be active. Once we have both questions answered, I have no doubt Superior Spider-Man is a solid pick-up for any collection.
Pre-Release Score:
Superior Spider-Man Decks
I’m the type of player who gets excited based on the amount of decks a card can be played in. Of course, finding that one archetype the new card can become a staple in is crucial, as it will typically determine how much play the new addition will see.
Yet, Marvel Snap is constantly changing some bits through new cards and balance updates, so versatility is very important in my opinion, especially for cards worth the big bucks.
Superior Spider-Man is a great card in that regard, able to contribute to a ton of different synergies from strong performers such as the Undead Horde synergy, iconic archetypes in Silver Surfer, or struggling strategies like Zombie Galacti.
Here is a collection of builds I believe the new addition makes sense into :
