Moira X is the first Series 5 cards joining Marvel Snap for the September 2025 Season, Visions of the Future. It is a 1-Cost, 2-Power card that reads: When this is destroyed, get a copy of your opening hand.
Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.
Strengths and Weaknesses
I am going to assume Moira X works the same way as The Sacred Timeline location used to, meaning the copies we get are the cards in their current state, with buffs or maluses applied. If that is not the case, Moira X will be much weaker all of a sudden.
In that scenario, there is one card we obviously have to discuss to kick off this analysis:

Moira X is a 1-cost card, meaning she is pretty simple to fit into a turn alongside Deadpool and the card to destroy it, especially if X-23 gave us extra energy to work with.
Plus, in order to save energy, we want to get our second Deadpool as late as possible to get the buffs without needing to pay energy to grow that second Deadpool every turn.
This should represent the bigger part of making Moira X work, finding enough energy to use the cards she puts back in our hand. Without that limitation, cards like Firehair or Morgan Le Fay would be completely out of control. With it, we need to build around cheap cards, ones we can play, destroy, and then play again once we got them back later on in the match.

Fortunately, these cards exist, and typically pair very well with cheap On-Reveal abilities. Then, Moira X should be able to come in that mix, giving the deck more value with a second Firehair or Morgan Le Fay, or simply more On Reveal 1-cost cards to use alongside these two.
Last, these decks typically use Death as a payoff to destroying those cheap cards, and another 0-cost, 12-Power card would obviously be great to grab:
More cards, such as Mockingbird or Sasquatch, could also fit in that same theme, but probably would not be as simple to use as Death, since they do not share the Destroy synergy with Moira X.
Last, let’s mention the cards we can use in order to destroy Moira X:

These four have exported their services to a ton of decks built around the destroy synergy, so we know they can follow Moira X wherever we would like to play the card. Obviously, the 1-cost will require a few ways to destroy it in order to be consistent, so at least 2 cards, typically Killmonger plus either Carnage or Venom, will be necessary.
The Verdict: Should You Get Moira X ?
Moira X is a niche card within the Destroy synergy, which naturally limits the amount of archetypes we can consider it in. Yet, the new 1-cost is a value tool for most decks built around the destroy synergy.
We can use Moira X to get more of Deadpool, Death, beefed up Carnage or Venom, or just to make Firehair or Morgan Le Fay have more cards to synergize with.
Then, the new card seems to pose a simple question: Is this an ability you are interested in ? The answer should tell you whether you want the card or not.
Pre-Release Score:
Moira X Decks
All of Moira X decks will naturally gravitate around the same idea. At the moment, the Destroy Zoo deck is doing the best out of these four archetypes. Yet, the potential of the new card could change the fortune of certain decks, since Moira X should represent a new way to generate points.
For example, Deadpool Destroy could be able to compete without Deadpool in its opening hand if Death was there, as two 12-power cards would mitigate the lack of Deadpool. This is not possible without Moira X, except if we show it to our opponent, as we would copy Death with Nico Minoru on turn five.
Variants
Conclusion
I enjoy the likes of Destroy Zoo or Mill, so Moira X is a card I’m definitely eager to test once it comes out. However, I would also understand if someone was to completely dismiss the new card, as the few decks she makes sense in doesn’t appeal to them.
Series 5 are worth a lot of tokens, so don’t purchase Moira X if you aren’t confident you will enjoy the specific gameplay she supports.
I hope this review of the new card was helpful. You can find everyone on the Marvel Snap Zone team in our community discord to have a chat or ask any questions.
Good Game Everyone!
