Best Headpool Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Headpool is the Super Premium Season Pass card for the October 2025 Season, Undead Horde. However, the card will also be obtainable immediately through the Seasonal Series 5 Snap pack. It is a 1-Cost, 1-Power card that reads: When this is destroyed, return it to your hand, then give all cards in your hand +1 Power.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.

Strengths and Weaknesses

In their video, Second Dinner tells us Headpool and Deadpool are a great pair. Yet, I wonder if we’ll have enough energy to play both cards, plus the one to destroy them, and not have to wait for too long for it to have an impact on the match. That scenario feels like it requires X-23 to work properly.
However, I can’t argue with the fact Headpool represent yet another target to destroy in that deck, and will at least discount Death, beef up Knull and buff our hand.

Past that obvious synergy to fit a “Destroy me” type of card in the iconic destroy build, there are other cards potentially interested in Headpool’s services. However, we need to keep in mind we need to pay 1 energy each time, which can quickly add up over the course of a match. Then, I expect X-23 or a low curve to be required in order to be able to afford that expense.

Once we have those requirements met, we also need Headpool’s buff to be meaningful to our deck. For it to matter, we either have to find premium targets, which will turn that +1 into more points, or have a full hand so we get plenty of buffs spread amongst our cards.
Inside the destroy synergy, I can think of three cards : Nimrod for the buff target, and Morgan Le Fay or Moira X to make sure we have plenty of targets in hand.

If we were to venture into more gimmicky lands, we can also look at buff oriented decks to see which cards they use as primary targets. These won’t synergize with the Destroy theme, but maybe we could fit one or two in a deck, just to benefit from Headpool’s buff even more :

The Verdict: Should You Get Headpool ?

I think Headpool might be stronger than Agony in a Deadpool Destroy deck, simply because it gives us another target to destroy. Agony can feel a bit lonely when we don’t draw into Deadpool, X-23 or Wolverine to serve as targets.
The other synergy I foresee as pretty good is with Morgan Le Fay and Moira X, which proved to be a solid pair at the helm of Zoo Destroy decks. In those, Headpool should easily represent a +3 to +5 power each it is destroyed, which can quickly add up if we get to do it multiple times in a match.

Headpool Decks

No surprise with the two builds, which I believe will be the two obvious, and probably best landing spots for Headpool. I tried to build something around Nimrod, but the need to replay Headpool every time felt very annoying in that specific deck when we have access to the likes of Gwenpool, Shuri, Surge and such.

If we wanted to get creative, I gave a try to a Destroy Surfer, probably not close to the current Buff Surfer decks we have in the metagame. Yet, this one is much funnier to play, alongside probably confusing our opponent a good bit.

Conclusion

Headpool comes in as a pretty simple card to comprehend, but I believe the need to replay it every time can quickly become annoying when we already have other plans. Indeed, Deadpool already forces those patterns, but they are worth it because we end up with a 24 power card at the end of it. Headpool itself will grow a little, but if we don’t play the cards we buffed, we spent all that energy for nothing.

A strong potential, but limited to decks with the required flexibility to make it work.
