Best Wolverine, Horseman of War Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Wolverine, Horseman of War is the first Series 5 card joining Marvel Snap for the April 2026 Season, X-Men: End of Days. It is a 4-Cost, 3-Power card that reads:
Objective: This has 5 or more power. Give one your cards at each location +3 Power.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.

Synergies

Granting extra power has been a very strong avenue in Marvel Snap since Shou-Lao the Undying joined the game in January. Since then, the 5-cost dragon has been forming a deadly trio alongside Maverick and Scarlet Spider, joined by whoever could help to play two cards per turn.

The new 4-cost doesn’t necessarily represent a new piece to that synergy, but could be a solid sidekick, representing another card worth buffing with the likes of America Chavez, Forge and such buff oriented abilities:

There are more ways to grant extra power, but these complete Wolverine, Horseman of War‘s objective in one swoop. Once completed, the new 4-cost represents a [4/12] on its own, more if we manage to scale the power it gave to other cards, which we already have archetypes designed for precisely that goal.

That last part might actually be the problem for Wolverine, Horseman of War. There is quite a long list of cards looking to make it into one of those archetypes, alongside the might Shou-Lao. As a 4-cost, it is quite difficult to be played with another card in the same turn. Plus, the later the ability comes into play, and the harder it gets to target a specific card on each of our locations.

The Verdict: Should You Get Wolverine, Horseman of War?

There is a great environment for Wolverine, Horseman of War to complete its objective. However, I am not certain the new card will manage to become a staple considering how competitive the buff oriented decks are, especially those built around Shou-Lao the Undying, which seem to favour cheaper cards.

Plus, just like the Objective cards released in March, I fear Wolverine, Horseman of War will suffer from the lack of possible ways to synergize with the Objective keyword. In comparison, On Reveal or Activate buff cards can be repeated, which obviously raises their stock a ton.
