Victoria Hand is the next Series 5 card joining Marvel Snap for the January 2025 season, Dark Avengers. It is a 2-Cost, 3 Power card that reads: Ongoing: Your cards that were created in your hand have +2 Power.
Today, we will take a deeper look at the new card and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Spotlight Cache
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop initially as a Weekly Spotlight card, or opened as one of the featured cards in the Spotlight Caches that are found every 120 Levels on the Collection Level Track after Collection Level 500 (until the next new card releases the following week).
Strengths and Weaknesses
Victoria Hand has a similar challenge to what Scream faced when she released back in October: she is releasing with a strong Season Pass card on the same day, and her obvious archetype isn’t competitive at all at the moment.
Scream was able to live up to the challenge of reigniting the “Move Them” build, but can Victoria Hand do the same for the “Hand Size” archetype?

These are just a few of the multitude of cards that synergize with Victoria Hand, and there are a few strong ones in there. The 1-Cost slot features multiple good cards like The Hood, Agent 13, and Maria Hill, while the 2-Cost pool looks fantastic with Peni Parker, Valentina, Mirage,
Considering all the options you have for the early turns, as well as plenty of cards to play due to creating a bunch of them, I immediately thought to add another card to the equation:

I’m no genius, but usually when a new card synergizes with a meta staple (or the foundation of a good deck) I have high hopes for its competitive future. I’m starting to think I’ll like Victoria Hand!
Now all that’s needed is a bit of points to support all this creation of energy and cards, and that part is probably the easiest one.

With Victoria Hand and Iron Patriot already in the mix, there is no need to add a ton more cards. As such, I’m just going with the basic ones when it comes to creating cards in your hand.
You’ll have a lot of cards to play with thanks to generating a lot of them, extra energy through Wiccan—which should be quite simple to trigger—and points anchors in the Collector and Devil Dinosaur. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s kind of a weird feeling, but a deck based on generating cards and gaining energy has an Arishem vibe to it. This new archetype might be tough competition, but if Victoria Hand can’t beat Arishem in terms of performance then the card could lose a lot of its appeal.
Otherwise, Victoria Hand is an Ongoing card, so you have the usual threats to worry about:

The Verdict
The card creation should lead to a synergy with Wiccan, so I think Victoria Hand actually looks like a playable card. I have faith an archetype around her could emerge.
I hope Wiccan doesn’t get nerfed in the near future, or Arishem will probably remain the staple archetype when it comes to random cards and extra energy.
Pre-Release Score:
Victoria Hand Decks
I’m not exactly sure how to build this deck yet, so I went for the good ol’ “add Shang-Chi, Cosmo, and Enchantress so you have some disruption for everything” trick. Plus, with Wiccan in the mix, adding some extra 4-Cost cards allowed me to fit in Zabu as well.
The rest of the list has all the cards I believe will be mandatory in such a deck:
- Maria Hill and
Kate Bishop synergize with both Victoria Hand and Wiccan - Quinjet, Iron Patriot, and the Collector are all too good not to include
- Wiccan and Victoria Hand are the core of the deck, as they help with energy cheating and points
I believe Victoria Hand will be all or nothing, similar to Scream in October. Either this kind of archetype works, or the card will likely gather dust in everyone’s collection.
It might also work with Swarm, which could prompt Victoria Hand to become another 2-Cost to consider in Discard.

Closing Thoughts
I believe Victoria Hand is good enough to pull the same trick that Scream did. Plus, Iron Patriot looks so good that there will be at least one great card to pair with. However, if you don’t enjoy this specific style of gameplay, there is likely no reason to spend Spotlight Keys to get Victoria Hand.
I hope this review of the new card was helpful. Feel free to share your opinions and excitement about the card in the comments. You can find everyone on the Marvel Snap Zone team in our community discord to have a chat or ask any questions.
Good Game Everyone!
