Snap Judgments Presents: PulseGlazer’s Top 10 Decks: Did the OTA Shift the Best Decks?

Good morning all! It’s Friday, so let’s do something special! I’m going to spend this article covering the Top 10 decks right now in Marvel Snap. On this site, you get the legendary den’s weekly Tier Lists, which are entirely data-driven. This will not be that. Let’s discuss what that is, but if you’d like a video on this list with full turn-by-turn guides and card replacements… this is the video for you!

This Tier List is my opinion based on top meta gameplay. Some viewers will ask, “if these are not top performing meta decks by the data, why should I care about them?” The answer is simple: the majority of decks proliferate downward from the top meta players. Most of the best deck builders are top meta players, and decks at that level are built to counter each other so the meta ends up spiraling downward through the Ladder.

These 10 decks are all Top Tier and presented in no particular order.

Finally, I’m not doing turn-by-turn breakdowns or card replacements for this article. If you’re interested in that (and two bonus decks), be sure to check out the video above!

There are three decks that I think are the pinnacle of tier one in Marvel Snap, and this is one. While this deck got worse yesterday after the OTA without any question, the issue here is that it’s just not much worse. Most of what it lost were some easy Iron Patriot Snaps, but, overall, the deck still puts up massive power.

This deck operates under the premise of making use of extra energy from Luna Snow and Magik to use scalers like Elsa Bloodstone and Galacta to create threats out of cheap cards (Kitty Pryde, Hydra Bob, etc.) and then copy those scaled cards with Frigga. Add in Cannonball and Iron Man as finishers, and this deck just prints cubes.

If you want an Agamotto version for weekend missions, here it is:

The second of our big three best decks, this is one card off the Day 1 Bullseye deck from Alexander Coccia. Bullseye decks have become insanely consistent. They can win in so many different ways!

First, if they discard Swarm, they have two victory patterns. They can double Bullseye with Frigga or play Bullseye and M.O.D.O.K., and with either of those your Morbius, the Collector, and Miek will all spike in power. That’s hard enough to deal with, but there’s more!

Daken into Frigga into Bullseye with Grand Master on Daken is utterly insane. On the last turn, the opponent can play Daken and trigger Bullseye, which creates two lanes with cards at 32 power.

If you aren’t getting smoked by Mobius M. Mobius every game, I think this is the new Hela.

3. Scream Connoisseur

Scream, with this deck from its titular player, is the third of our triumvirate of top decks. The card Scream remains one of the top win and cube rate cards in Marvel Snap, scaling in power while also disrupting opponents. She’s an archetype all by herself at this point.

Classic Scream still exists (the usual Cannonball Aero version), but I wanted to highlight this version because it shows how versatile Scream has become. With just a few tweaks, the deck can be made to farm the meta; in this case, the target is the Khonshu decks that are all over the place. Lady Deathstrike, Fenris Wolf, Red Guardian, and Shang-Chi are the additions that make that match up a cakewalk. This type of alteration can be done for any match up in the meta, which makes Scream an easy addition to the top tier.

Sizer is #1 again, and it’s with bounce move again.

The deck took a weeklong backseat as Firehair was everywhere, and with her came Killmonger, making this annoying to play. Well, Khonshu coming out and Firehair‘s disappointing performance left us with a Killmonger-sized hole in our hearts, and Bounce Move marched right on through to be a top deck again. This remains incredibly hard to play, otherwise it would easily be in Tier 1 along with the above three decks.

This deck is simple in concept. You have three scalers: Human Torch, Dagger, and Vulture. You use cards to move them so they grow, then you either bounce them to avoid tech cards, copy them with Frigga, or both. Rinse, repeat, win.

5. Pluto Thanos

Pluto is here with the other deck that is knocking on Tier 1, except for the difficulty in playing it. Thanos is fully back with this type of list that is able to leverage cards that are hyper-specific (like Loki) or that don’t always work (like Wiccan) because it draws so much and can support multiple game plans.

Those game plans are really enabled by the powerful endgame Thanos provides (pun not intended). A [6/12] that can be played anywhere on Turn 5 and is immune to Shang-Chi is just insane for tempo. Add in a 9 Power Mockingbird that often plays for less than three energy and this deck really sings. Alioth and Shang solve problems, but those two cards give this deck such crazy tempo. It’s so hard to predict and so hard to beat.

The other thing holding this deck back a bit is that I’m not sure this is the right version of the list. We’ve seen a Galacta version from Crazy do extremely well, and a Luna Snow version from Coougarrr absolutely crush. As this list is fully refined, it may end up being the actual best.

JD Macdonaldinho is a long time Sandman truther. He’s been playing the card with everything from old Storm to Doctor Doom 2099 to this current iteration.

It’s a perfect storm right now for this deck. Gorgon and Mobius counter half the meta, whether that’s Thanos, Arishem, Agamotto, or all the Firehair generation decks. Cap's Shield going to 0-Cost helps bring Ms. Marvel back, and Sandman stops all the end game flood.

The only thing stopping this from being a tier higher is that it’s unclear how positive a match this has into all the Khonshu decks. As that wanes next week (pun very much intended), this should immediately bounce back.

7. HeartoftheCards Surfer

This is the second list that may well be in Tier 1, but I lack confidence that we’ve found the perfect version. Heart of the Cards, in the top 10, is the highest rank with this list, but both Smlz and KM Best’s versions have a real claim.

Surfer is in a great place that is unlikely to change. So many of the game’s best tech cards are 3-Costs that it can get a positive match up into anything without sacrificing power due to Galacta and Silver Surfer himself. If you have a problem with Negative decks, for example, Mobius M. Mobius is a 3-Cost. If Discard annoys you, Red Guardian is also a 3-Cost. When we one day get an On Reveal meta, Cosmo will fit in too. That plus power makes Surfer a meta force.

Ngon, who streams on our friend Minh’s channel, came out of nowhere to fly up to #2 with this list. This deck has a small sample right now, but its performance suggests it could end up at the top of the list.

The goal here is to win one lane with Iron Man or Gorr and another with Mystique under Moonstone to triple Iron Man or Gorr. To do this, the deck needs either extra energy or time, so it uses Ravonna Renslayer (with Moonstone), Magik, and Anti-Venom. With so many avenues for power and reduction, this has the redundancy to stay atop the meta.

It remains to be seen if it can do so in a larger sample, but for now, go steal cubes before this gets around.

Roram has been floating around the top 10 with afflict, and I’m ready to call this update to Coougarrr’s list the definitive version of Affliction.

The game plan here hasn’t really changed. If you can get an afflict and a move by Turn 5, Turn six can be a huge Ajax, free Abomination, and 1-Cost Miles Morales. That’s utterly crazy power. Turn 5 moving Rocket and Groot or Cap's Shield enables Miles, and Hazmat is the key way to get a free Abomb (but Cassandra Nova and Red Guardian help).

Added to the list are Grand Master and Laufey. Laufey alone can make Abomb cheap, but when played on Turn 4 into a Grand Master on Turn 5, it can make Abomb completely free while discounting Miles at the same time.

This deck has a weakness to a lot of tech cards: Mobius and Luke Cage shut it down, but it really doesn’t love Shadow King, Enchantress, or Shang-Chi, either. That is what holds it down, but when not countered, this deck is atop the power scale.

10. Crazy Khonshu Discard

Crazy has the most successful Khonshu deck, as he’s in the top 10 with classic discard.

Khonshu is really additive to this list—it can absolutely go over the top with the regular Dracula/Morbius plays. Classic Discard was not bad in the recent meta, but Bullseye being better sort of took its spotlight. Khonshu has been built around in many different ways, but if you’re discarding, whether that’s with the Bullseye list at the top or this, it’s such an obvious add. It just takes a cheap card and turns it to 12 in the lists, often giving an extra discard in the process and adding an extra card in hand to be discarded multiple times. It’s just a natural fit!

That’s this week’s top 10 decks. Please check back daily for more articles and the YouTube for at least one video every day!
