Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: The Best Deck I’ve Played Since the OTA!

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Some top players are content creators that most of the engaged player-base knows, like HuskyPuppies35, Sizer2654, and of course, KM Best. Some are just so consistently top of the meta that they gain notoriety and renown – Derek, Butt, and Xunzzz spring immediately to mind. Some, however, compete regularly at the top of the meta, consistently dominant, but rarely gaining the notoriety they deserve – Burs, Saltii, and the creator of today’s deck, CHZ.

CHZ is a longtime viewer/reader who, whenever he has time to play enough, finishes in the top half of the top 100, often in the top 20. His decks are always an interesting twist on the metagame, and this one feels crazily strong in my early testing, in addition to helping CHZ go from the mid 400s to rank 19 in short order.

The brilliance of this deck is abusing 5-Cost cards, in particular, Sera. This deck badly wants Sera on turn 4 – Luna Snow and Jennifer Kale make that part easy, but will settle for her on turn 5, using Malekith to make that more likely. When that happens, plays like Maximus and Ronan or Mercury and Cannonball open up, allowing what seems like a close game to turn into easy cubes. This deck is just more points and more control than it seems. Malekish plays for at least a 4-9 here, for example, while Maximus is just huge for a 2 (whle still feeding Ronan). Gladiator is likewise a genuinely big card, but he also has the benefit of feeding Fenris Wolf, who then plays for something like a 2-8. All of these points when combined with the control Cannonball and Killmonger offer make this deck a beast.

Card Replacements

1. Needs: Mercury, Cannonball, Kale, Fenris, Malekith, Luna
2. Gladiator -> A 3 with stats. Negasonic is fine.
3. Red Guardian -> Mobius, Negasonic, Rogue

Turn by Turn

1. Turn 1: Pass
2. Turn 2: Kale > Fenris = Mercury
3. Turn 3: Luna > Gladiator
4. Turn 4: Sera > 3+2 or Malekith
5. Turn 5: Sera > Ronan/Cannonball… combo of early stuff. Don’t forget to make sure play activates!
6. Turn 6: Cannonball/Combo off (Maximus and Mercury are great here).
