Snap Judgments Deck of the Day: Storm Lockdown Returns!

Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Since Storm became 4-Cost, she has been utterly absent from the meta. Top 5 Infinite player Halo Effect, however, used the new card Surge to bring the Weather Goddess back to the meta.

This deck wants to use Storm to steal a lane on turn 3 or 4, and has an absolute ton of ways to do so. First, Storm is relatively easy to get out on turn 3 thanks to Zabu and Surge. When that happens, if the opponent can’t stop it, you’re going to win a lot of games – this deck excels at adding power to closed-off lanes.

Sam Wilson, Batroc, and Kraven are a trio that offers serious power to any deck. Batroc on 1, Sam 2, and Kraven 3 means that your early plays are at least 12, 7, and 9 power. That’s an absolute ton, and keeps you in games without a lot of late-game power. Moving the shield into a Storm lane at the end can also put that extra 12-ish power there. Batroc can also access the Storm lane two other ways – Rocket and Groot and Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel moving to Storm would turn off a Ms. Marvel buff, but the extra power you get from Batroc more than makes up for it. Captain Marvel also offers you a really great chance at winning a non-Storm lane. If you can claim the closed off lane, you just need one of the other 2 to win, meaning that you’ll often end up with a 50-50. Smart opponents will try to make that happen in your Galacta or Ms. Marvel lane where you can’t buff, but Captain Marvel lets you get around that limitation effectively, while Rocket and Groot and Negasonic Teenage Warhead punish them for their plays.

5. Turn 5: 3v(Negasonic, Gladiator)+2
6. Turn 6: Ms./Captain Marvel+
