Sleeper Decks of the Week – Annihilus Is Sick, She-Hulk Double Up Is Back, and More!

Check out the best Marvel Snap decks in this column, before they become meta! There are a lot of awesome decks waiting to be discovered, to take your opponent's Cubes by surprise!

Hello everyone and welcome to Sleeper Decks of the Week! I’m Glazer of Snap Judgments: The Official Marvel Snap Zone Podcast, and in this article, I’m going to take you through all of my favorite Sleeper Decks this week. In addition to the podcast (this week’s episode goes over the 10 Best Card Packages in Snap with Tobi and Devilish!), I do my own daily videos where I scour the darkest corners of the net (ahem Twitter and the various Marvel Snap sites) to find the best decks in Marvel Snap before the meta notices.

Remember: Each deck title will take you to a video explanation of the deck, so don’t be shy – check them out!

Annihilus

Annihilus has become a card played in package with The Hood and Sentry, but that package is worth an insane amount of points. Let’s look at three different ways this package works.

Deck Thoughts:

EvaZord is a Brasilian player, one of the very best in the game, and currently ranks at number 6 in the world.

Annihilus in a Bounce deck seems, at first, counter-intuitive. The card seems like it wants to clog your board to then give it to the opponent, not bounce your own stuff back and have space for Werewolf By Night. Well, the utility of the three-card Annihilus package is on display here. The Hood is a part of that package and along with bounce gives you access to a 2-9 worth of Power. Sentry is the other add, and in this version of the deck, he operates as an extra Darkhawk but represents 20 Power on his own if you play Annihilus.

Most of the rest of the deck feeds into the Darkhawk package while bouncing Werewolf By Night around to grow to a stellar degree. The hard part of playing this deck is deciding which playline to go with. Rarely do you want Darkhawk AND Annihilus AND Werewolf in the same game, but any two when properly chosen win games of Marvel Snap.

You don’t need the Annihilus package for a strong bounce deck, though Darkhawk is in the best versions. Without Annihilus, Zabu is extra also, and you add strong pump cards like Bast or Forge or more disruption like Iceman or Spider-Ham. Werewolf By Night is the key to modern bounce decks.

Deck Thoughts:

Lamby, the current number-one player, claims this build by top 50 player Gosh is among the very best in the game, though it’s hard to see why at first glance.

Shuri into Red Skull is one of the strongest plays in Marvel Snap. Turn 4 into 5, it leads to 29 power in a lane, an often insurmountable amount. Turn 4 into 5 of Sentry into Annihilus is 27 Power. It’s disruptable, sure, but so is the Red Skull play. Red Skull has a Taskmaster follow-up, so it’s still better, but the Annihilus after Sentry play can nearly match it, especially if we involve Psylocke and Shuri.

Psylocke into Shuri makes a 20-point Sentry which can easily be copied by Taskmaster on turn 5. Annihilus on turn 6 will still get rid of The Void, but now comes with the benefit of space for a 1-drop, which could be The Hood to give the opponent -3 or a Demon to give yourself +6.

If you don’t have Annihilus, of course, the regular Shuri deck is still also a tier 1 option.

Deck Thoughts:

Quinee Equinox is a smaller name than LambySeries of EvaZord, but her play is absolutely on par with those two legends, and she’s an extraordinarily creative deck builder.

This deck is all about optionality, particularly with The Void. If Sentry has won a lane with Armor or Professor X, then Destroyer will often turn that lane into a win. We also, of course, can Valkyrie to The Void, turning -10 Power and a loss to +3. That’s especially strong in a lane affected by Ms. Marvel or with the Demon played after Valkyrie.

Naturally, there’s always the aforementioned 27-Power play of Annihilus after Sentry. To help you choose, you have Daredevil, not perfect information for Tuesday, but enough to let you know if the opponent is filling the right lane or if Professor X is safe. Finally, Mobius M. Mobius is great in this deck- double She-Hulk decks and Loki decks abound, and Mobius gives a definite leg up.

That said, Mobius isn’t needed here and could be Shadow King. Nebula is a good card, but Iceman is pretty close to as good as well. You will need Annihilus and Ms. Marvel though.

Double-She-Hulk

Mobius M. Mobius appears to be completely out of the meta. Without that as a safety valve, Moon Girl + She-Hulk decks are back and dominating!

Deck Thoughts:

Juno2Tres is a small streamer who deserves a far larger audience. This extraordinarily creative build is only one example of why.

The deck has multiple win conditions. Copying She-Hulk or Death with Moon Girl wins a lot of games, but so does nabbing an extra Daken‘s Muramasa Shard. Killmonger with that card, X-23 and all the cheap destroy here allow for numerous combos ahead of the curve, and even just grabbing two Demons here is extremely powerful. Carnage gives a destroy backup plan while Forge can be game-winning on Daken.

Daken, though, isn’t needed here. He can be a simple America Chavez for consistency. You do need X-23, but a card like Titania or Iceman does a decent job replacing Nico Minoru.

Deck Thoughts:

Hopefully, if you’re here on Marvel Snap Zone, you know the legendary Den, writer of tier lists, and shaper of metas. This, of course, is his She-Hulk build. Quinjet + a copied She-Hulk can still be 6-power, but added to that is the power of the Darkhawk package.

Darkhawk and copying it twice with Mystique can be backbreaking, and that play doesn’t even need you to skip turn 5. The disruption combined with the over-statted nature of cards like Ms. Marvel and Darkhawk make this an extremely powerful deck, difficult to compete with let alone beat.

The Darkhawk package is non-negotiable here, but Ms. Marvel can be America Chavez.

Deck Thoughts:

We saw Moon Girl She-Hulk and Moon Girl Darkhawk and Moon-Girl Death, so why not Moon Girl Abomination?

This deck uses the classic afflict package of Scorpion and Cyclops to get a cheaper Abomination that can be doubled by Moon Girl. Of course, also an option is doubling She-Hulk or using Magik for the pass turn 6 into She-Hulk and Hulk play.

At any rate, that’s a ton for the opponent to play around, and they have little chance of managing to cover all of it.

High Evolutionary is the only high Series card here.

Deck Thoughts:

SafetyBlade is Marvel Snap Zone’s own genius deck builder. He built this Loki deck that handles basically everything and took it to 14-1 in Infinity Conquest.

This one jams all the ones into a deck to feed The Collector, move Werewolf By Night, and ensure a powerful Loki. Falcon helps with each plan – it buffs The Collector, moves and gives space to Werewolf and keeps that hand full.

The tech choices here are Armor and Shang-Chi. Armor is a destroy and Alioth counter to be played early for the former and late against the latter, while Shang can steal massive cubes when you don’t see Loki.

Loki and Werewolf are must-have. Without Snowguard, you’re running Agent Coulson or Beast, and no Nico means Forge, Spider-Ham, or Iceman.

Deck Thoughts:

CORRECTION: Owi, French Content Creator extraordinaire, created this deck and popularized it first!

GamingWithFlash is a smaller content creator who’s doing really cool stuff and has discovered the best Ronan deck I’ve ever played!

Iceman and Baron Mordo offer disruption, Storm and Ms. Marvel steal a lane, and then after Ronan on 5, the deck has numerous options. Perhaps Maximus and Master Mold can go over the top? Maybe Alioth will eat your opponent’s hopes and dreams? What about a Mystique for a second big Ronan with Maximus or Mold? You can even go for Iron Lad with Master Mold!

Master Mold is obviously required here, but Alioth can likely be the Leader. Jeff is very good, but Medusa is an okay replacement. This deck is good- try it if you can!

Deck Thoughts:

Lamby is still the best player in the game. Here, he takes a shell that went undefeated in Swiss in a tournament and wins an Infinity Ticket with it.

This deck is simple – get big with Werewolf By Night then win another lane by pumping 3s. If you can get Polaris and Maximus into one lane, a Silver Surfer buff can mean 16 Power on the last turn, and anything there before that is usually lane-winning. Add that to the power Surfer gets pulling Werewolf to him and there’s likely a win.

Sometimes opponent’s go big against this, though, and that’s why Shadow King is here. The cost can be awkward, but he’s worth it. Juggernaut and Spider-Man allow for this deck, with less power, to disrupt enough to go over the top.

You must have Werewolf By Night here. Jeff can be Silk, but without either, Kraven should go for Goose and you can just run a card like Lizard or Medusa. The rest of the deck is Series 3.

You know the drill – turn by turn in the link above.

Deck Thoughts:

Johnson is one of the most creative deck builders in all of Marvel Snap, a constant presence at the top of tournaments with off-meta builds.

Here we have a Move Thanos Lockdown. Yeah, that’s right. It also runs Martyr. Martyr and Silk are here because they’re big stats for their cost, able to win a Professor X lane and keep priority for Alioth.

Of course, once Silk is in, there’s little reason to not grab free stats with Kraven… and with Kraven and Silk and Professor X go Jeff the Baby Land Shark.

Of course, now we’re filling lanes, so Elsa Bloodstone fits and so does Vision. And along with Alioth, Negasonic Teenage Warhead is great for when you grab priority. And the board is wide, so here’s Blue Marvel, The only card that doesn’t fit here? Magneto. He’s just here to ruin Ms. Marvel’s day and steal Cubes.
