Series 4 Cards – Awesome Andy & Omega Sentinel – Best Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Awesome Andy is a Series 4 cards joining Marvel Snap for the September 2025 Season, Visions of the Future. It is a 2-Cost, 1-Power card that reads: Activate: Give one of your cards at each other location +2 Power.

Omega Sentinel is a Series 4 cards joining Marvel Snap for the September 2025 Season, Visions of the Future. It is a 4-Cost, 3-Power card that reads: Activate: Afflict the highest-Power enemy card with -7 Power.

Today, let’s explore the new Series 4 strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 4 cards can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 4 Snap Pack for 2,500 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following two.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Both Omega Sentinel and Awesome Andy look like niche Activate cards with the same issue : They give a lot of information to our opponent.

From a pure power standpoint, both cards are fine, since a [2/5] and a [4/10] is on par with the current balance in Marvel Snap. However, the fact we need to set those cards on the board for a turn before activating them will be an issue.

To understand that issue, we only have to ask ourselves why does Toxie Doxie prevent the cards she buffs from being played for a turn for the same bonus granted by Awesome Andy.
I would mostly explain it with the fact buffing in hand is much stronger than buffing on the board. Gwenpool against Kahhori kind of situation here. Plus, the On Reveal keyword has proved time and time again it was superior to the Activate keyword.
Last, being a 2-cost activate cards means Awesome Andy is weak to Red Guardian on curve.

For the record, I do believe Awesome Andy will be a better card than Toxie Doxie. Not only, it is much easier to target with Awesome Andy, since we can position for the buff to land on specific cards. Awesome Andy can be played whenever, and be activated when the time is right. Yet, it is clear when looking at both cards Second Dinner believes one needs to be limited (Toxie Doxie), when the other one already is by its Activate keyword.

It is a similar issue with Omega Sentinel. The card represents a [4/10], but the opponent knows about it. First, we show them a [4/3], and only the following turn, we transform it into a [4/10]. With the likes of Man-Thing, Laufey or even Spider-Woman, we immediately get the full power of the card.
It isn’t specifically weaker. Indeed, we can play Omega Sentinel on an empty location and use it to block cards like Namora or Awesome Andy from buffing a specific card. Still, we give our opponent a chance to adapt, which is a huge deal in a game played with Snaps and Retreats.

Overall, I feel like both cards give our opponent agency to play against them, while they can always use that information to make an educated retreat. Or an educated Snap in certain situations.
Then, these two remind me of the darkest days of the Activate keyword, when we couldn’t get anything from it since our opponent knew too much about our game plan. Imagine if one player can use their cards when they enter the field, while the other has to wait a turn for them to be ready.

The Verdict: Should You Get Awesome Andy ?

The competition amongst 2-cost cards is too fierce in my opinion for Awesome Andy to see much play. The card has one niche it can be played in, and will otherwise be outshined by cards granting buffs in our hand.

Pre-Release Score:

Rating: 3 out of 10.

The Verdict: Should You Get Omega Sentinel ?

Omega Sentinel isn’t bad, but outside Cerebro 3, it is very hard to picture the new 4-cost able to earn a slot in a 12 cards deck. Indeed, except for someone looking to play Toxic and missing several 4-cost cards (Laufey, Man-Thing, Anti-Venom…), Omega Sentinel will often be amongst the cards we don’t have room to include.

Rating: 5 out of 10.

Awesome Andy Decks

Buffing cards in our hand is always more appealing than buffing those on the board, just for the sake of keeping our opponent in the dark regarding our potential. Then, Awesome Andy does not have that many archetypes it can join, except for one : On Reveal Buff.

In that one, Awesome Andy can be considered a small Namora, the signature card of the deck. Also, the main targets for the new 2-cost are included, with Nova Frankie Raye, Scarlet Witch and Lasher all great recipients of the +2 power buff.

Omega Sentinel Decks

Omega Sentinel mostly makes sense in two archetypes :

Cerebro 3 is the obvious one due to the card’s power, while her ability represents a good chunk of points. In that sense, Omega Sentinel would fill a similar role to Lasher in Cerebro 2.

It will be a little tougher to earn a spot in Toxic Wiccan, but replacing a 3-cost (Red Guardian most likely) with Omega Sentinel improves Malekith, since we would now only have great pulls with the 4-cost.

Conclusion

Activate cards really need to carry a busted ability in order to see play, and I don’t think Awesome Andy or Omega Sentinel do. Both cards are fine from a balance standpoint, while they make sense in at least one deck. Yet, the activate keyword will be too much of a limitation when it is time to pick the 12 cards we include in our deck.
If Awesome Andy or Omega Sentinel see play, it will mostly due to Cerebro 3 or On Reveal Buff being really strong, rather than these two elevating a deck to new highs.
