Best Marrow Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Marrow is the sole Series 4 card joining Marvel Snap through the shop for the December 2025 Season, Weapon X. It is a 3-Cost, 3-Power card that reads: Activate: Give the next card you play Power equal to this card’s Power.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 4 cards can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will also be included in the Seasonal Series 4 Snap Pack for 2,500 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Marrow mixes a ton of synergies, which often leads to something too difficult to achieve for a Marvel Snap deck with only 12 cards and 6 turns available. Plus, the “Discard or Destroy” archetype has yet to exist, and I doubt Marrow was the missing ingredient to make it all click.

In that context, I believe Marrow should be considered for her ability to split -7 power among enemy cards, which is quite a lot to be fair. Once we figure which cards can benefit from that affliction, we will check how much room is left in our deck to either destroy or discard Marrow.

There are only two cards in the game which directly benefit from afflicting opposing cards, while Lady Deathstrike and Danger could be able to target new cards. However, if we were to play against a lot of buff oriented decks, Marrow could be a nice way to lower the power of their cards.

The newly released Maverick for example, surely would hate to lose some power to a discard or destroyed Marrow. Unfortunately, this raises another problem with Marrow: Timing.

The best Discard or Destroy decks in the history of the game were those rewarded for doing it a lot. Whether we look at Discard Dracula or Deadpool Destroy, both decks want to push their synergy as far as possible in order to generate points. Until there is a target on the board, Marrow does absolutely nothing.

“Just wait for a target then, genius”.

It’s not that simple, especially when I have plenty of Discard or Destroy targets available to play in my deck already.

Swarm, Scorn, Proxima Midnight or Weapon H don’t ask me to time their discard. I can just pull the trigger whenever they are in the right spot in my hand, or simply hope they get discarded because I have to play Gambit right now.

Same for a Destroy deck. I can’t just play Marrow on turn two, and have it sit every turn until it is the perfect time. That would block a location for me, while I also am not progressing my Death, Knull and such cards.

The Verdict: Should You Get Marrow?

The new Series 4 card is a nice deckbuilding puzzle for those looking for a challenge. However, I don’t think it will lead to anything good, at least not without a specific metagame rewarding for afflicting enemy cards at any point in a match.

Plus, I doubt Destroy decks have room for Marrow, I would rather play Wade Wilson and fetch my Moira X or X-23 from my deck.

Unless you have a Discard Affliction deck in mind, Marrow is probably a skip, even with Wild Child and Fastball Special for free through the Team Clash event. However, let’s keep in mind minus 7 power is quite a lot, so Marrow definitely isn’t bad, rather too demanding.

We’ll rediscuss the card when Fantomex releases, on December 30th.

Pre-Release Score:

Rating: 2 out of 10.

Maverick Decks

Although I believe Marrow would be easier to use in a Discard deck, the synergy I like the most with the 2-cost is to afflict opposing cards in order to destroy them with Lady Deathstrike later on:

In the first deck, Marrow takes its spot. Yet, if you like Wolverine Weapon X, feel free to replace either Wade Wilson or Angel with it. The season pass card has been the target or Deafening Chord, Red Guardian and Shadow King too often for me to rely on it anymore.

In the first deck, Marrow takes its spot.

As for a Discard deck, I couldn’t find anything better than the Black Knight + Agatha Harkness pair:

Marrow could actually be annoying as Agatha Harkness might play her on turn two. Yet, we could still destroy the 2-cost with Lady Deathstrike later on if that was the case.
