Magus is the Super Premium Season Pass card for the February 2026 Season, Guardians’ Greatest Hits Vol. 2. However, the card will also be obtainable immediately through the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack.
It is a 3-Cost, 5-Power card that reads: Activate: Copy the text of a character in your deck with Cost equal to your unspent Energy. (without using its On Reveal)

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.
Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.
Synergies
There is a lot to be excited about Magus, as certain copies will turn the 3-cost into a powerhouse. Unfortunately, there are also multiple conditions attached to the card, which I feel will ultimately limit Magus way too much.
First, there is the randomness attached to such an ability. We not only have to draw Magus, our preferred targets also need to stay in our deck. Marvel Snap does a great job at balancing these abilities through the Snap and Retreats emphasizing our good hits, and limiting the damage of a bad draw.
Then, we have the need to not spend energy the turn we intend to activate Magus. This is both a good and bad thing, as it allows targeting a specific cost, but requires to skip the same amount of energy.
There are cards to mitigate that loss:

With those in the mix, Magus will be much more flexible to use, especially if we look to target high-cost cards. This flexibility will be key to bypass the 3-cost main limitation : On Reveal cards won’t work with Magus.
At first, it might seem simple to bypass that problem through building our deck around Activate or Ongoing cards. However, the On Reveal keyword is so common in Marvel Snap, it is almost impossible to have none in a deck, especially at the cost we play multiple cards.
In that context, those cards helping us to pick our targets will be instrumental in planning which cards we might want to copy, and make sure we don’t have On Reveal cards at that specific cost.
Here are some ideas of Ongoing, End of Turn and Activate targets at those costs we can afford to run only one or two cards:

The Verdict: Should You Get Magus ?
Magus feels like a lot of work to be good, but also able to save a match we should have retreated at times. Indeed, the ability to copy a key card for our deck is always worth the gamble if the opponent did not snap yet. Then, if that copy turns what should have been a one cube loss into a 2 cube win, Magus earned its worth of tokens.
This is a card we should consider for potential highroll. As such, I expect Magus to fit a snap and retreat intensive deck, more than one looking for a high win rate.
