Good morning all! I’m back at Marvel Snap Zone every weekday with a deck of the day: a top deck for you to try out! My aim for this article is to get you in and out quickly and give you something new to play every day along with the tools to do well with it. Decks with High Evolutionary
High Evolutionary was once the scourge of the meta. When he released, Hulk, Cyclops, and Wasp were insanely strong. Since then, not only were Hulk and Wasp nerfed, but the game just got way more powerful. A Cyclops that may play as a [3/8] is nice, but Gladiator already does that. Hulk can become a [6/16], but Gorr and Red Hulk just do more. With that in mind, it’s unsurprising to see High Evo take a back seat… until now.

Our friend Cougarrr created this High Evolutionary Afflict deck that is, admittedly, really light on High Evolutionary cards. Only Abomination is here, since that’s the one that is the most above rate (it often plays for zero to two energy for nine power). There’s just not a lot of Luke Cage around right now, and Abomination is worth so much efficient power that he makes playing the albatross that is High Evo himself worthwhile.
The rest of the deck is almost all about affliction. Even without Hazmat, Silver Sable, Scorpion, Cassandra Nova, Man-Thing, and Rocket and Groot all work together to make Abomination cheaper and pump up Ajax.
There’s a secondary plan here that Rocket and Groot is a part of, too. Mixed with the Season Pass card, Sam Wilson Captain America, this deck has a very small Move package. It’s mostly there for tempo, but it allows you to run Miles Morales as a [1/6]. That’s just great stats and easy to fit in, especially on the last turn of the game with Ajax. Sam Wilson himself is usually a really solid [2/8], so this deck has plenty of strong tempo all around. Great stuff!

- Red Guardian -> Rogue
- Sam Wilson -> Iron Patriot or
Kate Bishop (but you have to replace Miles Morales) - Silver Sable -> Hydra Bob, U.S. Agent, Luke Cage
Turn by Turn
- Turn 1: Silver Sable
- Turn 2: Sam Wilson > Scorpion
- Turn 3: Rocket and Groot w/ Priority, Cassandra Nova w/o
- Turn 4: Man-Thing or a 3-Cost + Miles
- Turn 5: Hazmat + whatever you can; Ajax or Abom are fine
- Turn 6: Ajax, Abomination, Miles Morales
