Peni Parker Decks & Week in Review: Bonus Challenge Guide

Complete the Bonus Challenge Missions efficiently using our decks, or find out how they are performing with our review and decide if you should get the card!

During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Bonus Challenge! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens, Gold, and Credits!

You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. However, you don’t have to play the card during the course of the match for it to count, it just needs to be in your starting twelve!

There will be Bonus Challenge Missions available for each new card release to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens and subsidize their cost. Players can also expect the rewards to be stabilized at 200 Tokens to help them plan their token budget for the month.

You can find the current best performing deck for each card down below, as well as some other options to match your collection or play style preferences.

We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the decks and finish the missions quickly. First, let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Peni Parker Performance

Peni Parker Meta Stats

To put it nicely, Peni Parker isn’t off to a great start. This is particularly concerning since Wiccan is doing great, which means Peni Parker doesn’t fit in the deck that everyone thought she would be a shoo-in. She is better when played rather than just drawn, however, which means Peni Parker is contributing something when she hits the board. Still, considering how low both metrics are, the best choice might be to not play Peni Parker at all.

The new card has a lot to prove, and it seems like she is being carried by the decks she is played in rather than helping those decks perform better.

Post-Release Score:

Rating: 3 out of 10.

Galacta Performance

Galacta Meta Stats History

The OTA messed up the stats a little, but the most important piece of information for Galacta is still fairly simple to see. The card is extremely strong when played, as testified by the 3.2% difference in the Win Rate on Draw vs. the Win Rate on Play metrics. The same can be said for the Cube Rate, which more than doubles when Galacta is on the board rather than in your hand.

It is fair to say that Galacta has grown into a card worth Snapping if you can play her in the right setup. Fortunately, that setup is extremely simple: Galacta on Turn 3 or 4 and profit.

Post-Release Score:

Rating: 8 out of 10.

Starter Card

While Peni Parker isn’t doing too great at the moment, the card at least has the benefit of hanging out with the “cool cards” of Marvel Snap (like Galacta, for example). As such, this week features many decks that you can use to knock out both missions at once.

In all of these lists, Galacta helps the deck’s core synergy, while Peni Parker is more of a fine 2-Cost to spend your energy early on. Sp//dr is pretty good since moving a buffed card is always strong—especially in a meta that rewards flexibility a lot. The trick is to play Peni Parker when you are fine with committing to playing Sp//dr as well. Otherwise, you might as well invest your energy into a different 2-Cost card for more benefit.

Closing Thoughts

At the moment, I can’t recommend spending resources on Peni Parker. The card fits in some of the best decks in the game, but it doesn’t look like a mandatory addition for now. Indeed, you could easily make a Wiccan and Galacta deck work with Kate Bishop, Psylocke, Jeff the Baby Land Shark, and/or Valentina as the 2-Cost cards of choice.

As for Galacta, the card is making the last few Season Pass cards proud after a rough first week. Following the OTA, Galacta has become one of the best win conditions in the game by guaranteeing that your deck will develop points. A lot of the time, an early Galacta is just as good as Wiccan, and I would say she’s definitely worth Snapping for.

Hopefully this guide helps you decide if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, as well as what you can play to complete the missions quickly!

Good Game Everyone.
