Best Lin Lie Iron Fist Decks and Strategy Guide

Is the new card worth buying or trying your luck in Snap Packs? Read our guide and find some decks to try out on day 1 in here!

Lin Lie Iron Fist is the second Series 5 card joining Marvel Snap for the January 2025 Season, DRAGONS. It is a 2-Cost, 2-Power card that reads: On Reveal: Add the Sword of Fu Xi to another location.

Today, let’s explore the new card strengths and, of course, the best decks to try it out in.

Series 5 cards can be purchased for 6,000 Collector’s Tokens from the Token Shop as the latest Seasonal Spotlight card. They will be also be included in the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack for 5,000 Collector’s Tokens during their season and the following one.

Synergies

The whole point of this new card is to reunite Lin Lie Iron Fist with the Sword of Fu Xi, effectively creating a [2/11] taking up two spots on a location. However, unlike Sam Wilson Captain America, the sword can’t move on its own, so we have to pack some help in our deck.

There are other ways to move, but those would not guarantee to reunite both cards. We know the Sword of Fu Xi will be summoned on a different location, but not which one. Even if we always played Lin Lie Iron Fist on the right or left to make sure the sword was to its left or right, we wouldn’t know if it was one or two locations away.

As such, Iron Fist, Araña and such cards aren’t reliable options to reunite both cards, unless we manage to fill a location to control the summon of the sword.

In the Move synergy, a [2/11] isn’t that big a deal. Kraven routinely reaches that power, Dagger is also able to, and Sam Wilson Captain America is a [2/6] which buffs plenty of other cards. Thus, I don’t expect Lin Lie Iron Fist to make it into a Move deck. Instead, we will be forced to include some elements in our deck, while our core strategy will be something else.

Aurora would buff both cards, and isn’t a particularly annoying card to build around. Indeed, Madame Web is Ongoing, while the other Move cards are On Reveal, so we could find a mix of targets within that synergy.

Unfortunately, that 6-cost is also have of the few cards rewarding us to play Lin Lie Iron Fist. Otherwise, it feels like the new 2-cost is supposed to be the pay-off rather than a building block.

Indeed, the other synergies are mostly niche, definitely not enough to build a deck around, rather just add the new release to an already built archetype with an open slot. Among those, we find discounting Mockingbird, although there are already plenty of cards to do so. We could also use Frigga or Moon Girl to get copies of Lin Lie Iron Fist, either to stack the swords, or make it easier to reunite both cards as we have multiple of each in play.

The Verdict: Should You Get Lin Lie Iron Fist?

I’m not excited about Lin Lie Iron Fist to be fair. The card synergizes with strong synergies, but looks too demanding to be reliable. I could have considered it as a solid tool to grab priority early on through spreading 4 power across two locations, but Zombie Mister Fantastic probably does a better job in that regard.

Elevent is a lot of power for a 2-cost, but unless other options are nerfed, the current metagame already features plenty of fantastic 2-cost able to contribute just as much to a deck’s total.

Pre-Release Score:

Rating: 4 out of 10.

Lin Lie Iron Fist Decks

I can’t find much appeal to the card except for its synergy with Aurora. Thus, I built in that direction, aiming to fit the new card, Aurora and some move abilities together.
