Another week means another bundle and its analysis! This time we’ve got a pricier bundle than the ones that came out in the last month. Can it offer enough for 5,000 Gold to make it worth buying? Let’s find out.
0.93 Tokens per Gold – not the worst metric for a bundle. It’s not an extraordinary value like 1.0 or 1.1, but it’s pretty high by the standards of modern bundles.
A Progress Value of 118% also indicates this bundle belongs to a more elite category, though it’s nowhere near the legendary bundles with >123% Progress Value.
Still, for such a high price the bundle doesn’t skimp on additional sources of value – it includes a variant for a Series 5 card, which for some players may be a deciding factor. We’ll cover that in one of the following sections.
Comparison With Other Bundles
As you can see from the Progress Value charts – the Wings of Justice bundle sits comfortably above other bundles over both the past year and the past six months. That’s a good sign and helps this bundle stand out against all other August bundles.
However, compared with other bundles in the same price tier, it delivers slightly more modest results and sits below average versus bundles at the same price over the past six months.
And that’s not surprising – some of the most profitable bundles are exactly in that price range. Those bundles were topping the charts a few months ago, but bundle value has slipped again now, so this should be viewed with a degree of skepticism.
And finally the main metric – Total Tokens for Gold! And here’s pretty good news – the bundle sits comfortably above the average. Given the ongoing drop in bundle value, slightly visible on the first chart, it deserves credit. The results on the second chart are a bit worse, but still show its nice value.
But don’t forget about Booster Packs, which provide much more value than all other bundles – however good this bundle is, Booster Packs are still better.
What if you don’t have Sam Wilson captain America?
Well, if you don’t have Sam Wilson captain America, then buying the bundle basically gets you a Series 5 card as a bonus! And although after his nerf he isn’t as much of a must-have as he used to be, he’s still a decent Series 5 card that boosts the bundle’s metrics to the top, making it highly recommended to buy for the extra value.
Use cases for the Sam Wilson captain America variant
As I already mentioned – Sam Wilson captain America hasn’t been a meta-defining card for quite some time and is therefore mostly seen in archetypes as a supporting card for the overall strategy.
As a first such deck I can suggest an ongoing deck where Sam Wilson captain America has natural ongoing synergy.
The second deck with Scream uses a different facet of Sam Wilson captain America and its cards interact with the ability to move the Shield. So a more or less classic version of the Scream deck is shown below.
Conclusion
Initially I wanted to give this bundle 3 stars, but after realizing how much bundle value has dropped over the past couple months I decided to bump the rating up a bit.
Yes, Booster Packs are still better and you can wait for another bundle that contains a card you don’t yet own, but overall this bundle isn’t that bad. And for anyone who doesn’t have Sam Wilson captain America – the bundle’s even better and adds extra value by giving a Series 5 card for free.
So for the broad player base I rate it 3.5 stars out of 5. For players who don’t have Sam Wilson captain America it’s 5 out of 5, a must-have if you want him in your collection.
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Wings of Justice bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
